Yes..... BUT GHSC is a seed company! BUT.... "I" would hope that 'if" (and thats a BIG IF) GHSC is allowed to enter that other established seed cos be invited and GHSC can go against MNS against Serious et al. and let the smaller breeders stay as it was......Ronley said:

Okay, let's settle down...here's the FACTS:
4/20 Awards night is on a Friday and because all places we had hoped to try and get for the big party (awards night) were unavailable we ran into a bit of a brick wall....but, when Arjan was asked to 'pull a rabbit out of the hat' and see if he could help us find a location he was glad to accept the challenge. Something we planned on thanking him for (coming up with 2 other venues...we already have 1)....but this thread got started before we've even heard back from the main venue for 4/20...so it is still not official.
We already have 1 venue, pretty much tied down...but it was our opinion that this venue was just simply not adequate to hold ALL the events planned...so we decided to use that one for vendors and needed another venue. One of the venues located by Arjan is only available for the 18th and 19th and not the 20th....the awards night and BIG party. The other venue he came up with is only available for the 20th, and quite frankly is HUGE, way over what we anticipate needing...but am in a position to 'have to' take it (if it's approved for our event) in order to have a larger place necessary to have the 2 live bands we have planned.
To answer some of the other accusations.....Arjan's GHSCo is welcome to enter the breeders cup category (this category is for seed co's/breeders who have commercial interests in their product), they've entered the 4/20 cup before as has others like Soma, Magus Genetics, Reservoir Seeds, Paradise Seeds, etc..... and hope to see Franco bring another entry or two this year for blind judging. They are also welcome to purchase vendor space, that's up to GHSCo if they want to have a presence as a vendor. They have a beautiful vendor booth, have seen it many times at various trade shows, but again, that's entirely up to GHSCo to choose to participate or not.
The organizers of the cup are myself and OP...and Gypsy sponsors it of course.
Is this some conspiracy or sell-out as has been eluded to???? Don't make me laugh.....please....nothing could be further from the truth. The cup will be, as it always has been, fair.
Coffee Shops are this year, as they always have been, NOT ELIGIBLE to enter the 420 Cup with cannabis or hash...perhaps we'll give a Best Coffee Shop award like we have in our previous cups, but that award is based on judges votes as it pretains to the helpfullness of the staff, ambience, cleanliness of restrooms, etc., but NO smokeable entries. This is the Grower's and Breeder's Cup....not for coffee shop entries...period.
So let's stop with all the conspiracy theories and simply say thanks to Arjan for going out of his way to give some assistance (this is what Arjan stated to me on the phone, and went pretty much like this)...I'll do what I can, can't promise, it's late to find something and especially because it is a Friday night event, I'm very busy but will do what I can as a favor from one canna businessman to another, because I'd like to see Gypsy's cup continue and be successful.
The reason I've not posted the 'Official 4/20 Cup 2007 Tickets & Events' thread detailing the tickets and activities is because until we sign a contract for the venues I will not post any info....I've stated this before, and I state it again now.
All these things would have been brought forward and a formal thanks to Arjan made. We are waiting...still waiting on a 'board' to approve the event that is in charge of letting the venue out for 420 awards night that Arjan 'pulled the rabbit out the hat' and found. IF we are turned down for the big venue, the contingency plan is to use the 1st venue we located, just a bit smaller than we'd have liked...but hey, we'll have a venue one way or the other.
There will be no further information made about the venues until everything is signed and under contract...something we hope to accomplish in the next couple of weeks (OR CERTAINLY SOONER WE HOPE!), and everyone keep their fingers crossed that the large venue for 4/20 awards night doesn't turn us down...that's still a possibility, and making EVERYTHING run way behind schedule. Already have the live entertainment (2 bands) for awards night...but obviously can't sign them until we are approved and sign the contract on awards night venue.
As soon as we know something SOLID, you all will be given the information in my official 420 cup thread. Many growers are asking where to send their entry...the address for sending independent grower entries will be provided by pm'ing OP or calling OP at the shop in the dam BEGINNING NEXT WEEK.
Nuff said? I think so...except thanks again to Arjan and his 'scouts' for a solid week of legwork going all over the dam and many hours of phone work making calls to help us out....with NO ULTERIOR MOTIVE on his part.

Bartender, actually...we'd like to see everyone attend and NOT make a connection with their online name and their real life side...that is something each person who attends decides for themselves. The thing about the GHSC is that they have rigged the Cannabis Cup before prolly many times I know this for a fact, thats why everyone is sceptical, everyone knows they did. My 100% conctete proof that they did was that Nol was asked onece about the cannabis cup and he spoke his mind, He went to go pick up Willy Wortels pens from some pen making place and ther they were a few weeks before the cup "GreenHouse Seed Company 1st place at the Hightimes Cannabis Cup" now if thats not rigged I don't know what is, not to mention that people have booed when they announced that GHSC had won before. If they would admit that they have rigged the cup before the stigma would be gone but until them I/we will be sceptical of any event that the're involved in.
Now for my next point ICmag is not hightimes thats for damn sure, I trust that ICmag will keep the cup fair, but will I be sceptical about the GHSC yea. Thats just my two cents on the matter.
As far as IC vs OG no-one cares except the ex-og people and very few of them at that, we help each other by spreading the knowledge of cannabis and related things its not a competition, remember were on the same team people.

yes indeed it makes sense to keep ones online id hidden, it will be a pity not to know who some one is online, but it's a great protection at the same time. as the event gets bigger it seems advisable. even if it is sad, as i always really enjoyed meeting people i knew from here in the flesh. specially in a neutral place like holland. but in this day and age it's better to be safe rather than sorry, as the saying goes. so nobody call me gaius in public when we meet ok? lol....

well i'm stoked that there actually is going to be a cup this year as i have set aside a zip to enter...i also think its a real drag when people within the community rag on each other and go negative...i wouldn't probably ever go to the HTCC or order seeds from GHSC but if this arjan guy wants to help and is able to help i think its a positive...call me a suckass but i have faith that GN and DG have their own agenda for this event and it all revolves around blind judging of the best shiznit people from this board grow...i attended two years ago and was very impressed with the way people judged and having quantifiable results to look at afterwards was great...i would go so far as to say its pretty much the coolest thing in the world to have a gathering of people who have the exact same favorite interest that i do; everyone who enters is a winner for giving the bird to all the governments that choose to trample our rights and everyone who judges is a winner b/c they get to smoke what is some of the dankest shit anywhere...bottom line is we all absolutely need to stick together and appreciate such a gathering of growers...

I wouldnt be too scared about someone traveling to the IC cup just to ID me in the flesh and report me to the authorities. Then again I'm a pretty trusting guy. Maybe for all those who get a bit more paranoid could PM those they want to meet and let them know what they will be wearing...or somethingalong those lines?
I think the blind judging will help frano and arjan...with all the negative vibes surrounding the GH name here, it would seem beneficial for a blind contest. See you all there next year.
