No my bad you obviously meant these plants. I don't know what soil that is, but a few those look really, really dry to me.

Oh snap I didnt even see the change here but...
Those were still very heavy with moisture and not much root in the cup yet...I still have not watered it again. Thinking about tommorw...

Maybe even the top layer drying out can be used as an indicator of when to water again...

That's what I use to indicate when to water Cocco. When the top changes color to a light brown. Time for a little water.

You mentioned soaking seeds for a day, then a day in a paper towel, then into Cocco. Try skipping the paper towel next time. It's really an unnecessary step, why handle the seeds more than they need to be.
Soak till they crack open then straight into Cocco.

Another thing I always do is bury the plants up to the first node when transplanting from solo cups. It takes care of any extra stretch they may have gotten.

I think the plants look good though, nothing serious anyway.

Best of luck and may all your Buds be huge.

Peace GG

Yes, you are right.

I forgot to mention the main 2 take aways at this point would be to just pop the seeds in the media after soaking and to not worry about the dome over the seedlings.

Its gonna be better to get the seedlings adjusted to the "real" humidity as soon as possible. Kinda like how aero clones get growing faster than domed clones because they dont need to transition from humid to dry conditions.

...and as far as the paper towel goes ot really just makes no sense. Soaking them is to see if they crack, at that point it's good, sow it and be done with it. If it dont come up on it's own it just wasnt meant to be.

I first heard about the paper towel method in the 70s. Made sense when we only had bag seeds to work with. Very few germinated so it was a useful step. Not now and definitely adds risk for damage. Mandala Seeds has always recommended NOT using paper towels.

If your seeds don't pop in 4 days, let them dry out really well and retry it.

Some old seeds will go black in paper towels and just won't crack. After about 7 days with no joy, you have to get radical and pull out the heavy guns. Take a pair of vice grip pliers, put the seed on edge between the jaws, and slowly turn the screw to close them. The root will shoot out the seed like a tube of toothpaste because while the seed takes in water, the seed starts growing in the hull and pressure builds up in the seed. Use needles or something to surgically remove more seed husk, or completely remove it if you can.

There's a thread on seed cracking here

looks like your plants on page one are under flouros... if so they need to be put under either metal halide hid or hps they need stronger lights now.....
if under 400w then 12inches if 600w then 24 inches. good luck.

The wet paper towel step just became habitual, I didnt even think about it.

I definitely learned something already...and really appreciate all the excellent insight.

Back to the plants.
So... I gave them a dose of the 300 ppm, not too saturated just wet. Very little runoff, if any. Really I just wanted to make sure the whole cup got wet.

Seems like 3 days is the longest I can go without watering.

...and that's what I did with those babies, for the most part...

First I moved them to the 4x4

hello brother
it's because you did all those stressful events in short period of time, didn't have time to recover.
first transplant, then top, wait at least one week between.
cheers

Just this guy, ya know?
:yeahthats: I normally don't crop them till after I've up potted them, if I crop at all, I'm more of a fan of low stress training them, ie tying to something.

You can feed quite a bit stronger than that now. 600-900ppm range. They are going to grow very slow at 300ppm.

As mentioned, if you top a plant, give it 3-4 days to recover. Same if you transplant, give it 3-4 days to recover before doing anything to it. I'm sure they will be fine though.

Should be okay to feed every other day at this stage. Don't worry, they won't drown. Then flush once a week. Should be all gold.

I kinda dont wanna spoil it for those that have not seen this movie yet...

I'm wondering if anyone would be able to predict what would happen if I did these things in this order, with this timing...

Or If everything should just go beautifully from here?

It's a 4x4 tent with a 600w conversion mh bulb dimmed to 50% with those 9 plants...
