Wearing a safety belt was just a good idea.
Smoking a cigarette was allowed at all establishments.
A father smoked cigars and drank while mommy did all the work pushing out a bundle of joy.
Change for the payphone.
Drinking and driving was a pat on the back and a ride home.
Not wearing a condom was a risk of pregnancy,Not a risk of death.
Mothers stayed home and raised the children.
Getting smacked by your Dad or Mom was considered good parenting.
A neighborhood was a family in its self.
People sat out on there front stoop and socialized.
Kids had more freedom and they were safer.

Some changes are for the best and others are a shame.

...I'd hear this on a weekly basis...

"Gentlemen, we can rebuild him.
We have the technology.
We have the capability to make the world's first bionic man.
Steve Austin will be that man.
Better than he was before.
Better... stronger... faster."

kinda mantra-ish.

I remember waiting for Soul Train to finish because right afterward came Creature Features. Cheezy Sci-Fi horror movies, but they still scared me. On another topic, the school bathrooms had this pink hand soap. It came in a wall-mounted grinder, and you had to turn the crank to grate some of the soap off. It didn't foam at all, and you had to rinse forever just to get the slippery feeling off your hands.

I remember when anyone who smoked pot was a bad person and call the police on them immediately even if they were your parents. haha the pre DARE days . I learned how to use a bong from a state trooper standing up in front of the class in gymnasium showing all us kids what NOT to do . Im just nipping the top of the hill of life but I miss the old days . Like mentioned neighbors were family and us kids were safe at anyone of thems houses .

We just covered over the holes and knocked them out later. Some one sent me a picture of a wizard I gave them a long time ago.

I remember my aunt had a Zenith “Space Command” television. Our family acquired it when she passed away. The remote used sound waves to make changes on the set, rods were struck when the remote buttons were pushed, basically acting like a tuning fork.

Cable boxes, I remember when you had to have a box on top of the TV to get VHF or was it UHF channels above what was it channel 12? Young folk always worth a laugh.
