Hydro Showdown: Under Current 6XL vs Bato Bucket - DCxGOO - 2,400Ws

i have a 55gal drum of ro water in my garage that is temp controlled so i don't use the bathroom sink for much; it's no longer an issue though as i have a separate ro unit in the room on the wall that my under current is hooked up to which i tapped for the other reservoir so now it tops off both units. I just didn't think to do it the first time around; live and learn.

as far as not being able to adjust the uc it's not that big of a deal as whatever plant u put in it will cover the entire area around the buckets with vegetative matter so if you have the space then it works; they are really apples and oranges with the bato buckets though...keeps me from getting bored at least

Can't wait to see this shit go down...you OPT1CS are one methodical mo fo.

You can always cut your own pvc and suit the system to your specific dimension....my friend just scored a UC recently without pvc.:artist:

I think it ran me around 800; they're up to a grand now i think; i'd probably get an 8 since it's only like 150bucks more; even if i didn't need the extra two buckets the bigger pump and everything would make it worth it.

So anyways... here are some long overdue pics of roots..

The bato buckets...

The Under Current...

And here are some sneak previews of what i've been up to in the meantime...

And here are some pics for the guy who wanted to see how i have the bato buckets plumbed up...
picture.php

the feed lines are plumbed into 1/2" rubber hose; more flexible than the normal drip stuff... 1/4" open lines run off the manifold and into each bucket... the 1/2" line forms a closed loop around the tray with lines running along each row of buckets making a big rectangle.
picture.php

from left to right; two chiller lines, feed line with inline filter, power cord for chiller pupmp, airhose for small airstone, return line, power cord for feed pump, temp probe
picture.php

here you can see the float valve and drain i've added to the res; life is much easier now

I'll try to start some new threads when i get a chance :joint:

I have been following the thread for a long time, great info brotha!

I have a 8XL sitting in a box that I plan on busting out, I have been vegging 8 Serious Ak 47s for 3 week and they look great. I have been thinking about setting up a test round for the UC. I have a HomeBox XXL that I plan on using with the 8XL reduced to the 6XL centered under a 1k HPS on a light rail 3.5 mover. I would totally do the 2 600's but they are in use at the moment:dance013: and I already have the 1K and never used a mover. You seem to have a very similar setup with your 2 600's. Do you think the 1k on the mover will be sufficient over a 6XL SCROGGED.

i'm actually running 1k on the mover this time around. i guess in the pic above the mover isn't really the main focus ;) as far as veg goes everything looks good. i had to dial in the delay on the mover and extend it on one end or the other to even the growth but that being said once dialed everything seems well. i'm up in the air on how well the 1k will do over a 6xl for flowering; i know the hps bulbs throw more heat/lumens than the conversion mh bulbs so we'll see but i'm actually running the setup you're thinking about; 1k and lightrail 3.5; i'm also using a magnum xxl 6" reflector; it covers the side to side no problems; just one side will be shaded when it is at the opposite side; at least it looks that way to me. :joint:

I'm in the market for a new reflector as well so I might pick up a magnum. What kinda ballpark yield do you expect with the 1k and mover? What speed setting do you have it on? Super stoked now!
