apparently youre the man when it come to teas. I was wondering what your thoughts were on a recirculating brewer. basically using an aquarium pump or something and recirculating the bottom to the top. the re-feed at the top with a 6" to 1' drop back into the brewer. more dissolved oxygen than using bubbles. have you ever heard of something like this? anyways mockups are easier for me to explain.

Im wondering if the impellar would kill beneficial bacteria. but then i remember hearing about a vortex brewer a while back that must have been using a pump of some kind.

any experience or insight you might have would be cool man

Thanks for stopping in localhero, those cages are called Texas Tomato Cages. They are burly. We had a friend last year that put these on early in the season and didn't have to add any support for the rest of the year. He had 5lb+ plants. We will be doing quite a bit more to give these ladies support besides this but it is a great start. They also sell an extension for the tops of these that adds about two feet.

I am not a tea expert. There are plenty of wise soul tea gurus in the organic soil forum. Rootwise and Butte seam to have a lot of experience. Rootwise is building a very cool system right now and I know he will be doing a nice write up on it soon. I have heard that what you are describing, a "waterfall effect" is a great way to oxygenate your tea. There are certain kinds of pumps that will kill your benis by beating them up. I have also heard that other pumps like the lil giant blue sump pumps will leak a little oil into your tea and kill all your little friends. Check out the Organic Soil thread and all will be revealed.

localhero- soon come on the Tea info, always learning here too bro. Glad to share what I know, just need some time to get my pics together and some more work on my new brewers...initial thoughts are to rely a bit more on compressed air and diffusers rather than solely on that waterfall. I fear that the pump size needed to create a waterfall that adequately aerates that much tea may not be friendly to our little friends. A combo may work..... I'm interested in hearing Butte's take as well..

I'll make the trip out to grab up some more 55gal and 17 gal drums as soon as this current harvest is atleast hung up. having a computer right next to the trimming table is fairly conducive to icmag breaks.

That is a cheap eco plus hydro pump... i had a fantasy that this was all i would need to water my plants last year... this time last year I was pretty clueless.

Its probably a 650ish gpm model. I will look for it and let you know. This year I will be using 2 of those plus 4 airstones. ROOTWISE: compressed air and diffusers, huh?

Also very interested in Clean Green.

Here is a shot of our boys we will be pollinating with. We have a couple keepers of each variety. We will also be starting another round of seeds later in the summer to ensure that we will have fresh pollen and some boys poppin in the fall.

This was written on the plaque in front of it. It spoke to me and made me a little sad about the state of our country and how our individual freedoms have been taken away from us.

They have a wealth of knowledge that until now has not been shared outside of the Emerald Triangle. I am really looking forward to seeing how this progresses and hope I can contribute in some way. If anyone is hoping to take their growing skills to the next level these are the people to learn from. These ladies went to the courses at Oaksterdam to see how it was being run and were very unimpressed. Most of the info was all based on indoor cultivation and not outdoor or organics. They also did not like that there were no female teachers. Some of the best growers up here that have given this place it's reputation are ladies and they know their stuff.

any idea if they are going to get into any of the business law stuff and dispensary operation guidelines that oaksterdam does in the advanced classes? I'm thinking about flying out to the bay to take those cause they aren't offered at the oaksterdam branch set up out here. but i'd love to support this new college, cause we know how long the triangle has been running shit. Oakland is late to the pot growing party.
