Actually found a little grow faq detailing his show.

Not really detailing like his post on OG did, but does show his show progress through a bloom cycle. Anyone have copies of his old OG shit?

I believe the show pictured in the link below was before he upgraded to 8" tubes.

Check it out. Stadium grow at its finest. He hung is lights horizontal unlike NF, but used wings bent way up like a V. Wonder if he could of hit better yeilds just running bare vertical bulbs.

Link to JonJaffer's Hydro Stadium pictorial.

I see youre back NF. Did you change the wood to 2x3's from 2x4? The room looks a little different, I see a smaller can filter. Have a couple of questions also. Did you use any wood for the walls? or is that all poly? How about the roof? Thanks.

I took the poly down. Thats a window cover you see. My framing is the same but I'm using 4 shelves and 2 gal pots. The blowers are the same ones....they are just above the rooms now that the poly isnt keeping everything in the chambers.

I see, has it been more effective?
Did the 4 shelves with 2 gal's seem to do better than the 5 shelves+1 gals?

no need for that you can get 6" track at HD, lowes....... you can get them up to 16' in length. pretty cheap pretty common

I just tried going there and couldnt find it. Onlything close to it was the alum/metal studs that were only about 3 1/2 " wide, nothing close to 6". Can you provide a link to it? thanks

I havent seen anything at home depot either drow, there sure easy to build out of wood though.

bigger plants

bigger plants

I first saw NF's stadium about a year ago here at icmag. I now run two of them and can attest to the viability of larger plants in this system. My stadiums are eight and a half feet long with three shelves at eleven inch rise with ten inch steps and five inch exposure. I use four 600w hps in each unit.
I'm growing in two gallon bags of promix with twelve per shelf, per side for a total of 72 plants per unit. The 8.5' fits four nursery flats per shelf to catch runoff. I'm growing a blueberry cross that when topped, finishes at about 24", so I don't have alot of vertical overlap, i.e., less shading.
I think I just about have this thing dialed in, and yields are substantially higher than the DWC flat garden I grew in years past. Each run did better than the last, but I think I've reached a plateau at about 75OZ per cycle. Not bad for 2400 watts!
Many thanks to Northern Farmer. You"re helping me send my kid to a better college!

What did you use to build the drainage system? I was thinking of using the 2x6 x10 long and having them slant alittle, and adding another 2x2 piece and drilling them into a L shape, and then slanting that so it will look like a "V" and placing that, but then if i did that i would have to redo all of the studs already placed on the sides because a V wouldnt sit properly on a flat surface.

So i was thinking of using sheet metal and placing that on the below the 2x6's into a slant pattern so they can runoff all in one spot

either of your ideas will work . I just used 3/4 waffer plywood, cut them 8 in wide then took 1x2's and boxed them in, cut a hole with a hole saw for the drain, then lined it with pond liner, cut the hole out of the pond liner for the drain and inserted a cheap sink drain, the kind with a nut on the bottom. a half inch drop and the water runs back to my rez. I attached washing machine drain hose to the sink drains and the other end is in the rez with sock filters, the framing metal studs I used before work the same way, I had gotten them off a construction job for nothing but to buy them that wide they are real expensive

This a great thread lots of great info. I am thinking about doing a setup like this but smaller.
Does anyone think this would work with 1 light(600) or does it rely on 2 or more lights to get the job done right?? Or just the 1 600 on a light mover??
Would be a 3 tier(on each side) 3'(1/2?) Long 4 2 gallon pots on each 24 ladies total under 1 600.
Does anyone think this would work or should go another way?

Rooms are loaded with Purple Kush, Sweet Tooth #1, #3, and #4, Blockhead, Blockberry, Ice Cream and another Kush cross.

very nice

im getting hooked myself on doing some kind of an vertical/horizontal grow myself

i was wondering with the stadium setup
doesnt it cause problems that some plants are further away from the bulbs than others?
im thinking mostly on the top shelf ones

does the pots or plants need some kind of support in order not to tilt while the plants are going almost vertical towards the bulbs?

to fix the different distance to plant i was thinking maybe doing it a little more like this
http://www.hydroponics.eu/product.asp?Id=1671-GroWall+2mt+++Pump

then all plants have the same distance
i was thinking building a similar system myself

but i really dont know yet if it should be all vertical like that
a stadium kinda system
maybe a round system like the Colliseum
maybe 6 squared
maybe more long than wide and then narrow like the stadium above to use 3x400 watts
2 hps and one mh

well still some time to figure out what solution but im getting hooked on this idea as it seems using the light much better
im also going to do a horizontal grow but using light movers to replace some bulbs and getting the rest closer to plants

lots of idea and many different approaches
i just want to end up using the expensive lights better than a regular grow

Does anyone know offhand what the cfm rating of the inline fan used to exhaust one of the 3 x 1000w stadiums? How about intake? Thanks,

Nice setup

Nice setup

Northern Farmer, as an experienced grower, you are telling me that I can use Mh for flower too? How much is the yield effected?:joint:
