he hand watered, it took about 30 minutes and watered a precise amount so there was little runoff.

i have the same setup and yea its buy hand but i have a 500 gph pump onto a 40 foot garden hose with a trigger watering wand..goes very fast..every other watering i measure persice by picking up each bag and then the other times i just run a stream of water from behind down the lines..that only takes like 5 mins topps,,and as long as the soil is already remotely wet the run off is very small..

I think im gonna eventually design a system like this that can be used with coco coir and drippers (where u need runoff). I was also wondering if anyone on here has ever done a stadium grow with NFT tunnels, seems like it would be perfect.....

not sure about nft - but dont see why it wouldn't work.

There is used to be a fella back in the OG days that went by the name JonJaffer. (anyone remember him). He had what I would call a fast rate swc, nft style system.

His flowering room consisted of 4 8" PVC tubes (7 plants per tube) which hung from the ceiling in a stadium fashion using chains. He simply would pump water water into the top tube which would flow very fast, overflowing down to the bottom tube (via a drain in his end cap positioned at just the right height), and then back to the res. He did have an airstone at the bottom of each plant site to further aerate and agitate the roots, but I think it would work just fine without.

His system was fully suspended making it a breeze to spray under the canopy, trim, sweep floor, etc. Truly a beauty. I recall him hitting consistent 6lb yeilds from 3 lights with a fast flowering 6wk bubblegum variety. (2 1K HPS (ends) & 1 1K MH (middle)).

Actually found a little grow faq detailing his show.

Not really detailing like his post on OG did, but does show his show progress through a bloom cycle. Anyone have copies of his old OG shit?

I believe the show pictured in the link below was before he upgraded to 8" tubes.

Check it out. Stadium grow at its finest. He hung is lights horizontal unlike NF, but used wings bent way up like a V. Wonder if he could of hit better yeilds just running bare vertical bulbs.

Link to JonJaffer's Hydro Stadium pictorial.

So I got very excited reading this thread,
and I just wanted to give a sincere thank you to NF,
For inspiring my next grow. :chin:

What size stadium would any of you guys recomend for 2 1000 watters. I have an hps and a mh for a mixed spectrum of light. I was Thinking 7' long by 6.5' wide. 5 levels on each side, 14 plants per level = 140 plants. I would only need to get 6.4g per plant to get 2 pounds.

i forget what site i read it on,......but someone suggested using metal tracks "the kind used in construction" to funnel the runoff...it fits a 1 gal bag perfect...

no need for that you can get 6" track at HD, lowes....... you can get them up to 16' in length. pretty cheap pretty common

well a guy in this area was busted not too long ago with over 100 plants and is gonna do more time than i care to think about...what this did was give me a wake up call on my numbers since 250 in the room, 250 rooting, and how every many moms....is almost triple what this guy had and 5 times the federal limit......FUCK THAT!!!!

so i am redesigning my room for less numbers....i pm'ed northern for some ideas, but as of right now i think i'm going to do 2 shelves per side, 12 plants per shelf in 5 gal buckets for a total of 48.....i can veg for a month in 3 gal in another room so i won't mess up the 2 month harvest...

what do you guys think?

Had to dig this OLD treasure up.

lots of folks posted here, talkig up their plans, did anyone put those plans in action? were there any rooms that were shrunk that are running well?

looking to see some results, maybe pick some brains about this Idea..on a smaller scale.

I see youre back NF. Did you change the wood to 2x3's from 2x4? The room looks a little different, I see a smaller can filter. Have a couple of questions also. Did you use any wood for the walls? or is that all poly? How about the roof? Thanks.

im currently using coco with drip, I built my trays for this one instead of the 2 x 6 metal framing headers. Iput a cheap sink drain on one end and lined the trays with pond liner. I used 3/4 waffer board to make the trys. a 1 inch drop so the water drains back to rez, very important to put sock filters on return lines so your drippers don't get plugged up. only running 4 shelves per side as apposed to 5 like my last set up was, as always props to NF for inspiring me to try the stadium, Its $ machine there is some pic's of my old set up in the coco forum, standing room only thread
