How to get more color at harvest?

That's good news, 'cause LED's still have issues. I'll stick with HPS since I've neeeeever been a fan of purple cannabis. lol :)
On the other hand the heat generally vaporize terps. Everyone grow with what they want but sounds a bit copey... Led purple are in the leaf not really the bud. Usually you can get inprovements on both buds and your grow system by adding some leds to you hps; best both worlds.

There are a few purple strains I have loved, Purple Zacatecas, Big Sur Holy Weed, SAGE. They still need the early flush and cool temps to encourage color out of them. I see gold, red, green and purple. Then again, I see things when I smoke it. Very fine quality weed. Cerebral, euphoric, and gently pyschedelic. Spiritual maybe. Not a lick of couch-lock.

Funny thing. I was just gifted some possible Oaxacan Gold seeds. I was looking around ICMAG for pictures. It turns out, that big SAGE bud I grew pictured above looks a lot like the pictures of Oaxacan I found. I don't think I ever heard rumors of that possible connection.

@420PyRoS If the THC in weed gave off a purple aura, I think it would look like that pic...except for the big purple stem on the lower left...thanks for sharing!
Welcome.

Crosses with her do all sorts of colour's.
This Skankberry throws the purple stalks.

You don't so much need hot temperatures during the day as you need cool nights. For every 5 degrees below 65 degrees F you'll see a greater range of color. Below 50 degrees and you'll start seeing color in strains that are generally considered 'green strains'. I've seen strains that produce green flowers when grown indoors in the summer, purple flowers in the winter. Allowing plants to go longer before harvesting will also add to color, although at a certain point the resin will start to degrade.

I've heard of people doing shock treatments, watering with ice water at the end of flowering for instance. They even have products you can add to your water that will cause plants to turn purple. Hormones or chemicals or something, I'm not into it so I don't know much about it. None of these techniques interest me because I've always had the only way to guarantee purple flowers every harvest. No matter the temperature or conditions.

Genetics are the best way to get colorful flowers. I've been lucky enough to have access to colorful strains since I started growing. Over the years I've always had a few strains that are so colorful they could be considered ornamental.
