what the rep from TN said was tone-deaf as hell, but....i see the point he is trying to make. if AR-15s were banned yesterday, it's not going to have any effect on the numbers of school shootings. evil people will always find a way to commit evil acts. if someone goes into a kindergarten and beats a teacher & most of her class to death with a ball bat, are you going to demand that the sale and possession of ball bats are banned?

the Tennessee GOP has shown yet again their astounding racism and ignorance. today, they took up the critical job of dealing with fellow politicians that had the unmitigated gall of disagreeing with them on an issue. three Democrats were bold enough to take part in a demonstration in the capitol along with the citizens. two of them were Black men, one was a White woman. anybody want to guess who the Kla... uh, GOP expelled? anyone? need a hint?

The United States (and its satellites, e.g. England) has devolved into a "Details Don't Matter" dying nation.

It would be simple to protect American schoolchildren.

But ... why make an effort to communicate the details ?

It's more fun AND time-effective to work on something somewhere else, e.g. a Wildfire Prevention program in Greece.

The US is too intent on blowing off its leg at the knee-cap - and calling it "Progress".

2500 kids/year will get you talk about police in schools. Not sure what the figure is for meaningful action on reducing firearm availability. Possibly depends on whose kids get killed.
