Sorry to highjack but i just read a post in this thread that tickled a question that keeps popping up for me and i still have no answer....


What the heck happened to bubba kush after 1998??? Why is it so much better before this year? Did someone seriously dilute the genetics? That doesn't really make sense? THis is the only strain I have come across where everyone always refs a specific year like that... Please enlighten me.

^^ AVG joe actually its quite commmon for somethinglike that to happen....specifically the last time i know of another strain like that is kali mist...something aobut how when greenhouse broke up the real mos were taken and shanti baba has thereal deals...i guesss someone with more info can give you the 411....i have a simular question about such strains like original bubblegum, northern lights, whtie rhyno and white widow....are these clone only? are there good seed representations and if so which ones???

to my knowledge Northern Lights is not clone only. a pal of mine got some NL seeds from Nirvana (not 100% sure that he got them from Nirvana, maybe some other breeder..).

I have been working backwards, since catching the green thumb while living in Seattle 5 years ago. One of the first four or five strains I grew, was a locally created hybrid that wasn't supposed to get out - but it did (the creator I hear he got so pissed that he destroyed the parent plants and started from scratch again thanks bro).

Anyways I have been growing solid since then, and NEVER found anything that even comes close. Out of everything, nothing has managed to be more than half as good as that plant - I have grown romulan, white widow, bubblegum, sour diesel, all kinds of shitty bay area clones (but the evergreen widow was some KILLER shit), freaking I just finished up some blockhead and chem #4 - and NOTHING COMES CLOSE!

Even the best buds from other excellent growers - bubba kush, flo, planewreck, trainwreck, OG Kush, Cherry Slyder - and these buds are all top notch. Nothing wrong with them but still i have yet to find anything that can hold a candle to one of my first plants.

Get yourself some dank seeds and self it, you will find yourself a keeper. May I suggest Jack Herer, Blockhead, and Super Silver Haze as some plants that would throw some killer selfed plants.

Hello all,

When I first started growing I started with cheap genetics from Nirvana....Being that any bud yougrow is better then the schwag on the streets I felt I had good stuff.

After a short while I was gifted better genes from local growers and from some folks here as well.

BUt what I was getting at is every now and then someone will have a freebie to give away over in the Strains and Hybrids section. These are few and far between but you can sometimes get hooked up as I have.

Also, check the chat room for give aways. Although these suggestions may violate the TOA I believe that it still happens on the down low.

Also, as suggested...spend the money and buy some genes.

1ST GROW: was about i woudl say 5 -6 yrs ago. that was my first experience with northern lights and mites. since i was on OG (hydropupil remember?. . . .guess not) i read something about drying them in the fridge, kida like how vegetables dry in the fridge? same concept. . . dont need to explalin the bungle with that.

2ND GROW: 3-4 years ago, it was another sativa like strain, but from bag seed. at that point i just gettin weed from whom ever (was kinda taboo back then, for me) b4 i started hanging around the "right" crowds. it over grew in th e closet, i didnt know WTF to do with an overgrown plant, half way into flowering, so i chucked the whole damned thing.

**in between i was always tinkering with hydro, flooded my room a the time (skin itched like a bitch for a couple weeks due to mold build upo i didnt see) messin with a DIY DWC system. i dont know if it was big tolke, but it was a system where the feed tube ran through the runoff tube, i liked it built one, or tired too. constructed a aeroponic system, and realized i couldnt afford the noise /cost of the pump necessary so scrapped that.

but i will say this, all the while i have been reading, studying actually, about cannabis and the positive affects on the body. had a literal data bese of inf, cnat ge tit off of my old hard drive

3RD GROW: fast forward to the last year, came across a superb grower, met other growers, finally got my closet up with all DIY, organic soil and one of the most elite strains (check my sig). have damned good/solid contacts and wont go through a drought again unless i want too. took some clones succesfully, and am keeping things moving.

yup took me five years to gt to an elite strain, but damn if it isnt a hell of a ride, and i wouldnt change a damned thing!!

The way I figure, to get elites you just have to know the right people, at the right time, just like anything else in life (sort of like lucy, to me atleast). There's no magic formula for getting that sort of thing. Just my 2 cents, but then again I have no elites so I guess my words aren't worth much.

but almost everything can be found in seed form ....chems now.....there are banks carrying s-1 of all the kushs........good thing is the elites are becoming no longer elite.........means little guys get to eat too
