I am using holland secret 3 part micro, grow, bloom that i got as a sample. H&G multi zen(zyme) & I have bud blood, big bud, carb load all in powder form, should I mix 3 part & multi zen then ph adjust, then add carb load & bud blood, will be carb load and big bud for the following water but same difference i assume for this. Or should I adjust ph to 8.5 in my water then add all the nutes after. Or adjust after its all in? I am using tap water here in bc, and just filling a resivior letting it sit for 24hrs and I use all the water in one feeding.

You are making this soooo much harder than it has to be. get your water, add the 3 part nutes to the desired strength, then ph adjust then add all of the additives. Don't fuck with the ph before you mix the nutes in and don't fuck with it after you put the additives in. at least not for 48 hours unless something has gone terribly wrong with your plants.

mine is in soil and i just got H& G soil A&B so add that then ph, then additives. Because mine i can't adjust later i just hand watere then its all gone tillthe next day i giuve plain water.? I have advanced nutrients bud blood, big bud and carb load and H&G's multi zen. I am done first week bud blood now its on to big bud. so i shouldn't ph water first, why not?

Blazar, Thankx for drilling in the " and don't fuck with it." I'm a newbie and I want to fuck with it!

So, at my agg. shop they told me to only run 50% of the base solution and 66% to 75% of the additives. What do you think of this rule of thumb for a Newbie? I'm not skilled enough to read my plants.

Ebb and Flow bucket style, Aqua Flake with H&G additives

I'm using it following the instructions on the website calculator. It works great. I run the 'aggressive' formula and my plants are sucking it up like it's candy. http://www.house-garden.us/PrinterFriendly/index.html You can manipulate any of the parameters like res size, veg time, flower time etc.

I think that's right about on par. Depending on the strain. Heavy feeders should go with the regular strength.

Are you using drip clean? I think their calculator is not for cannabis at all. But it is so handy for printing a schedule. If you use the calculator enter your res size as 75% of what it actually is.
If you add more nutes than the plants can absorb the drip clean blocks them from absorbing it. They say it's supposed to keep you from getting a nute lockout. Using more nutes than the plants can absorb is basically a waist of money as the drip clean seems to neutralize extra nutes. I have taken my ppm's higher than my meter can read and the results were the same as keeping it at about 1200 the whole time. If the leaf tips are bent down or slightly burned than your over doing it and the drip clean is making up for it.

I would say run it as per the sched. I followed it exactly in soil and had great results.

I have not tried the soil so you should probably listen to Admiral Canna for soil.

I had one strain that did NOT like H&G nutes at all. The fan leaves were super dark green and they clawed pretty bad. Bud production stopped somewhere along the lines.

All 7 of those plants were chopped at Day 45 as I could see they weren't going to produce. Making extract. ;)

Other than that, I think H&G is great in soil. I would skip out on the Shooting Powder and run more Bud XL than they call for or use your own P-K booster.

My 2 grams worth for the morning.

Ya know.. I've read every bit of the literature that VandeZwaan has published about their products ( thought anyway). A lot of 'they say' that I can't find any evidence of them saying anything like that. If you have a url of more extensive information of what VandeZwaan says about their products and what they do, I'd sure like to see it. I've seen more statements about 'this does that and the other thing' that just don't seem to have any reference to where this information comes from.. very frustrating. I think these companies just want us to take the 1 sentence explanation for any given product without any real explanation other than vague and veiled descriptions.

Who the fuck told you this bullshit?

You are describing a self regulating system by using .4ml of drip clean/gal of water.

That is NOT what Drip Clean is used for.

VandeZwaan says exactly this about drip clean. Nothing less, nothing more (that I can find anyway)

"Drip Clean forms an ionic bond with salts making it impossible for them to build up in the plants medium or root system. Use of Drip Clean from the beginning thru the end of the fertilizer regimen will reduce the need to flush and make for better tasting fruit"

Any further documentation or information that this is very elusive if it exists at all.

mgk :blackeye: (black eye from getting whacked by a moderator for mentioning a competing seed vendor) ouch...

I thought it was originally made specific to drip systems to keep the emitters from becoming clogged. ? LOL

There are always misconceptions. As soon as I get my harvest on the scale and in the pipe, I will let you know exactly how good Drip Clean works.

I ran the test batch. Went very well. But I am not sold on a 3 day flush. I normally do 7-8. So I did 5 day flush with the H&G test batch.

Proof will be in the taste IMO. 5 days is NOT a long time to flush a plant that you have been dumping nutes in twice a week for 8-9 weeks IMO.

I have grown the strains in teh test batch for years. I will be able to tell.......

I'm beginning to have reservations about H&G.. I've been comparing pictures of my previous grow of Whiteberry and I'm about 10 days to 2 weeks behind the development of that batch. I just backed off from the 'aggressive' schedule and went back to 'normal' and will see if maybe I was causing some nute lockout by being so aggressive. The plants look healthy as hell tho.. a little nute burn on the very edges of the leaves, but not bad. Nobody's curling or anything.. they're just not crankin like they did on my GH grow of the same strain. We'll see what happens..

mgk :blackeye: (is my eye lookin any better?)

Since yer on the aggressive sched.....I think it is possible that some strains receive too much nitrogen. Excess nitrogen would hinder the bud production. Just a thought.

I'm on it.. I'll either confirm it or not in the next week I'd say.. Thanks for the input..

I posted earlier on this thread and wanted to give an update. To recap, my last cycle I used Humboldt Master A/B program. Although my numbers were good (pulled 2#'s per 1000w) it was an extremely high maintenance and expensive nutrient line. To make a long story short, based on a friend's recommendation, I've switched to H&G's cocos A/B. I'm 7 weeks in using H&G and I'll have to say everything is looking absolutely superb!! I've seen growth like I've never seen!! I'll post the final results/numbers in a few more weeks when everything finishes. LOVING the H&G!!!! It's super stable, easy to use, killer results (solely based on looks so far) and half the price of humboldt master a/b.

FYI, I did my nutrient calculations based on a 30 gal res. Mine is actually 32. So, I took the recommended "normal" dose and just slightly backed it off. Following the cocos a/b schedule to the "T". The only other additive I used was Great White mycorizzhae during the first 2 weeks of flower. I used it based on habit (and I had some laying around)...I dont really believe mycorizzhae is needed in a hydro/mineral salt-based fertilizer system...this is a topic for another thread!! :)

ps-I have actually talked to the reps from H&G a lot...they say NOT to bubble it or it can potentially destabilize some of the nutrients....AND, the Mad Farmer pH up/down is the EXACT same formula as the H&G pH up/down they sell in europe. Just passing what I was told...DON'T KILL the messenger!! ;) Those of you using a DWC system and seeing problems...this could be why...

MGK.....how grows bro? I know its only been 4 days.....but you got any results?

Turgor.....cool man, thanks for posting up! Interesting bout H&G nutes and bubbling. Hmmm....they make hydro nutes.....wonder if those still don't like bubbling? Kinda would defeat the purpose eh? Oh well, not my prob. Dirt farmer here. LOL

Strain dependent. Some will take feed feed feed some wont. If you have several strains you may have to keep a log and feed each strain different mixes on different days.

Well, I'm not real sure, but it appears so.. Everything is looking quite good.. maybe it's just my imagination. I've got another 3 weeks to go on the Whiteberry.. we'll see what happens.

I was told by a service rep on a phone call that the bubbling was not an issue and was a misinterpretation from when the text was translated from Dutch to English. I sure wish they would give more information regarding what does what, instead of a bunch of vague and veiled generalities. (bitch bitch bitch.. whine whine whine)

They are vague and if you compare the dutch version of the site to the english one you will see that the dutch get 5x the information we do. However if you call them on the phone they are always nice and glad to answer any questions no matter how weird or complex.

i am running aquaflakes in a dwc with chiller set-up. been running into some problems lately. i have a post going about it :http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=167911

my real question is how to set the ph. i believe all my problems with this grow are based on ph probs. im not a newb, just new to H&G. all the grow info is there, i filled out the form too. thanks for your time and help with this prob... you can answer here or on my 'sickly sour diesel' thread...

this is a good thread, and i check it pretty often...

thanks again,
