Greets all!
Been interested in PC case grows for a long time now. So finally I decided to make one of my own - just to keep a couple of mother plants. Clones will be flowered outdoors, and soon hopefully flowered here in my 250watt HPS cab.
It is simple & fun to get a PC case going. Also pretty cheap. The hardest part was probably getting all the bloody pop rivets apart (old school case). What I used:
Big-ish PC case - 43 d x 49 h x 19cm width.
45watt cool white CFL & socket & wired plug
Mylar/ceiling insulation/reflective material
Lots of black insulation tape
Old PC PSU
PC fans
Drill, screwdriver
Cardboard.
---
Here we have the case with side-cover off. Lots of guts to take out...
All guts taken out (what a mission), PSU still attached 'cause I was deciding whether to keep it in or out.
Added fake DVD writer and stiffy drive...
Black insulation take to stick everything in and seal the gaps.
Gotta have some reflective material.
I found a really nice socket that has a little mounting bracket attached. I screwed this to a small piece of wood and then fixed the wood to the top of the case. You can see the drill holes.
Picked up a 45watt cool white CFL. Will be perfect for mom plants.
Almost done...
