Here is a picture of a pristine 3 minute quick wash ethanol extraction showing only amber. I used frozen cured material and chilled 190 proof Clear Springs with minimal shaking.

Heya Grey, or anyone that can answer this question I have.

I thought I understood this ISO method, and then I read this sentence and now im second guessing myself.

My question is, you say 3minute quick wash. But you also mention you do minimal shaking, and I assume that would be anywhere from 20seconds and under. Its the 3mintues quick wash, im confused on.

After you do your quick wash and filter it. Do you let it sit for 3minutes? Sorry this post just threw me a curveball and I had to ask:tiphat:

thanks guys

I use three minutes for QWET (ethanol), but only 20 seconds for QWISO (Isopropyl).

12 second wash with 91%iso, not sure how I did for my first time.
I let it dry in the Sun for majority of the day covered in another screen. How does this look to the trained eye?

chachie:)

Does letting it sit out like that in sunlight hurt or degrade it at all? Always thought light / sun was a no no? Help meh!

Yup! Good point! UV degrades THC. Better keeping it in the shade.

In overall perspective, the cannabinoids were subjected to strong UV while still on the plant as well, so given their time exposure in the extraction, the extract will no doubt still have strong medicinal effect.

When air drying I would do so for several days, it's not difficult for solvent to hide inside thicker chunks of hash oil and screw up the taste/consistency. That's why I like heating the stuff, you can see when it stops bubbling and KNOW that it's purged.

Yea,I have noticed a few clearer bubbles is what id describe them as, just letting it sit out for a bit more.

Thanks guys. I didnt want to start another thread asking my question, when I find this thread to be very important to me in terms of educating myself.

thanks dudes

I'm going to dissolve my batch of QWISO into (clarified) butter. If I'm going to heat the mixture to ~220F in that process, shouldn't that take care of decarboxylation, or is there some other reason to toast the stuff first?

was just relating to the temerature he was giving. i find that that temperature works really well while trying to decarb and combine the thc with coconut oil for consumables. The shorter time at higher temp didn't allow the thc to combine with the fat properly.

My purple kush honey

A couple of different thc waxes. Quickly becoming my new favourite project

My new toys.

Also have been working on decorboxylated oil capsules. Anyone know something I can add to my thc oil/coconut oil capsules to stop the thc from breaking down the capsule but still be able to use my syringe.

I think I'm going to try and save up and get a better camera to get nicer pics. Anyone have any suggestions on anything nice but not to pricey that will give me better pics?
