Alright could i do this? If i buy some MG potting soil or sum organic choice potting soil and then i got sum MG perlite and maybe sum black cow manure and just dug a hole and mixed everything together you think that would be good? Or do i have to like measure out how much i add? I dont understand what people mean by adding 30% perlite and 20 % this and that i mean how much is that? How much space is it covering? It confusing someone help me please.

hay all just been reading and wanted to chime in, ive checked out the mg organic soil and doesnt it contain miracle grow? im almost positive it said somthing like ammoniacal nitrogen, which hinders fine root growth no?

also i bought the mg perlite a while back and while im quite possibly mistaken i beleive it ruined a batch of clones i used it with. i mixed a 2:1 ratio of peat moss and the perlite and ended up with a bunch of crappy clones,f'ed up burnt leaves and slow retarded growth. after reading the back i found out the perlite has mg in it, wtf? why?.

anyways i could be wrong but the same methods have worked fine since and before without the mg. and my neighbors last harvest in which he used strictly miracle grow ferts (cuz Ed Rosenthal's book said you could) tasted like poop.

no mg for me. my tomatoes maybe. after reading all these posts i see it seems to be working fine for alot of you tho.

The key I think is to mix it with other quality soils, more like an amendment than as a soil base. It works great for me when mixed with FF and other amendments.
