Did anyone notice the way Jay-Z brushed Lil' Mamma away from him on stage during the VMA's? They showed Beyonce and she looked confused. Beyonce is more of a woman than I, I would of got up there are dragged that bitch away from my man. She can't recognize when the side bitch tries to show her up. But, that only my opinion.
And why is Kanye all on Beyonce's shit? Trying to hit that?

yeah man...people that think hip hop is "dead" or what not....dont know shit...
i mean yeah 94...95...was the shit....but still....theres ALOT of talent out there...you just gotta turn off your tv.....

I agree with this, though I feel like you can still find good popular rap music too. With the Internet you can pretty much listen to anything.

It was 1988, I was just a wee grasshopper playing in the park behind ma's house.
I was doin what kids do at that age when something caught my eye. there was something shiney layin in the grass maybe 20 feet away. I went over to take a look and thats when it all started. Looking back now I can honestly say, DJ jazzy jeff and the fresh prince,I'm the dj he's the rapper would influence the rest of my life. now after 20+ years I have too many influences to list..

I'm gonna paste in a paragraph from the first post in this thread here it is....
I discovered what I call 'golden era' hip hop. That classic boom bap sound. Names like De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, Jungle Brothers, Ultramagnetic MCs, Gangstar, Diamond D, Souls of Mischief, FuSchnikans, Pete Rock and CL, Showbiz and AG, just to name a few.

you forgot rakim and big daddy kane.... 2 of the dopest emcees ever.
I guess I'm what you would consider "golden era" lol.
Here's an old written for ya....

Yo,This is hiphop
This is my life and first love

Yo, whats up guys.
Noticed nobody's posted here for a while.
Just wanted to introduce myself to you guys.
I'm a hip hop artist that has been rapping for over 12 years. I'm currently working on a project to be released independently. I think hip hop peoples of ICM would really enjoy it. My goal as a musician, artist and a song writer is for the listener to listen to my entire album and feel like they've known me personally for years.
My music is my other passion besides my plants and put my heart and soul into every track.
Sometime in mid/late Jan after some tracks are edited and mixed I would love to share them with ICM if that's cool. Also I need to change the name I've been going by for many years. Any sugestions, it just has to pretain to who I am. I've put growing in front of music for years and I'm trying to find a way to do both. I use marijuana for medical, spiritual and recreational reasons, and will be legit medical soon.
Peace.
