I listen to mostly underground hiphop. I listen to too many people to list, and I'm too baked right now to do that anyway, but I gotta say that one of my favorite albums has got to be The Weathermen - Conspiracy.

I doubt they'll ever get back together again, but the weathermen were : Cage, Tame One, Camu Tao, Copywrite, Breeze Brewin, Aesop Rock, Vast Aire, Yak Ballz, El-Pand some other people that I'm forgetting. They're IMO the best rap group since the Wu, I just wish they wold come together for a real album, cuz their mixtape is better than most full albums in itself.

They have a ton of good songs up there by people in the clique.

yeah some people seem to like the new nas album, but i'm not sure if i do... i like the song called "blunt ashes".

well anyways, right now i've been listening to alot of MF DOOM... i can't belive i hadn't heard of him till 3 months ago! He's got some talent, definately!

I've always liked Nas and wutang clan, and Illmatic is the greatest hip hop album ever. ever.

Who here like deltron 3030? I can't wait for the new album which is gonna come out next year i'm pretty sure? Kid Koala has finished the dj'ing portions for the album.

I also can't wait for Dre's new album in 2 years or so, called DETOX.... i know it's gonna be good. THe game has a track on it ( so i hear ), so it may suck hahahaha

Ive been a hip hop head since the early 90's.

But ive been a Screw head since '97.

I bump all types of rap n shit, But i gotta say my favorite shit is Screwed. Nuttin like some original DJ Screw or some songs that is already classic's remixed to be slowed and throwed. Nuttins chiller.

I love underground hip hop, the real hip hop. when an artist signs to a label it always changes the music. but also underground hip hop isn't about 'image' like it is in the mainstream. you'll find all kinds of good mcs and dj's that don't fit the stereotype so will never go big. its still all about gangster shit

Eminem is a good example of this. he was marketable more then he was talented. There are white rappers that are so much better then Eminem, but they will never see the kind of fame em has. It has little to do with talent and all to do with image.

some of my favourite artists: kool keith, mf doom, nas, sage francis, slug(atmosphere), eyedea with abilities, Juice, Cenobites, Brother Ali, Immortal technique, Sole, Paris, Public Enemy, Blackalicious... there are so many but thats a decent start

anyone else follow battle rap? scribble jam fans?

Man why would this thread ever slow down? I just went through a lot of it and I'm so damn happy. Im 18 and started listening to rap around 14 or so.

I never really discovered what rap is untill I found pandora.com. Its an internet radio station that plays artists "similar" to who you want to listen too. I started out with a couple big names, and now a whole new world of underground has opened to me. Some of the favorites that i have come across would have to be

J-live
Swollen members
Aesop Rock
Tonedeff

Jurassic 5

Buck 65
Big L
Lyrics Born
Non-prophets

I need to start exploring UK rap, something i have yet to listen to. So whoever you guys suggest I'm more than willing to check them out. Isnt that what were here for?
