I was not aware of Dutch Flowers in 99/2000, at this time the seeds sold by Sensi Seeds were in most of my grows. I have since discovered the Lemon Thai made by DF and I love this seed line, I've grown a hybrid made by Bodhi with his Appalachia male, Prayer Tower, it was a wonderful hybrid with a very enjoyable high. @VerdantGreen has worked the Lemon Thai recently, he is selling some reg of it at friendlier price than 20$ a seed.Back on topic
Does anyone remember any of Dutch Flowers stuff on Cbay 24 - 25 years ago, going for less than $20 a seed?
You can just admit that autos are weaker. If you add another breeding goal you have to compromise and that includes lower potency. It's not a sign of bad breeding but the reality of breeding. If it's "watered down" then that shows an incompetent breeder. And as opposed to get rich quick pollen chuckers with a fancy site, there are good breeders around that understand the dynamics of Mendel genetics. I trust dubi at Ace Seeds to one such dedicated and very patient example. https://www.icmag.com/threads/auto-zamaldelica-feminized.369399/page-26
Here's his explanation of how Rudy is in the background and does not 'water down' the potency, post 751. https://www.icmag.com/threads/lebanese.349127/page-38#post-18771313
Thanks for the mention.. i'm also interested in more info about Dutch Flowers from back in the day.I have since discovered the Lemon Thai made by DF and I love this seed line, I've grown a hybrid made by Bodhi with his Appalachia male, Prayer Tower, it was a wonderful hybrid with a very enjoyable high. @VerdantGreen has worked the Lemon Thai recently, he is selling some reg of it at friendlier price than 20$ a seed.
Why Dutch Flowers seeds got so expensive back then?
I don't get too hung up on what other people deserve or not, in the sense of how much they charge people for their services or products, unless there is a forcible monopoly being played out. Do I chuckle over the prices some people ask for their seeds? Yes. Do I forego buying some "must have" new shiny seeds based on price or bad luck with other seeds from same supplier? Sometimes.
I think the most important question is, "are agreements freely made, known up front and are they kept by all parties involved"?
I buy seeds and I make seeds and sometimes I regret paying so much for seeds that don't turn out as well as I had hoped. All that is my own choice, and on ME, as it should be. Freedom of choice is the most important aspect IMHO.
Reckon they’d have a good old convo those two, they seem to have a lot in common heyHave you met @RequiredUsername
The seeds were only sold through auction on the Cbay at cannabisworld dot com. DF was not charging over $20 a seed, the bidders ran the prices up that high.I was not aware of Dutch Flowers in 99/2000, at this time the seeds sold by Sensi Seeds were in most of my grows. Why Dutch Flowers seeds got so expensive back then? Sensi had still 15 seeds par pack in 99 so the price per seed was lower, their Jack Herrer, the most expensive was around 10€ a seed I think.
The only Dutch Flowers I knew about back then was what was sold on the cbay auction on cannabisworld. I never bid on his/her gear because the bids got so high. Thanks for the mention.. i'm also interested in more info about Dutch Flowers from back in the day.
I think that a few years after they stopped trading that someone showed up on the forums with some DF original packs which were for sale for $$ and some guys took a punt on and made more. I think those seeds where where Bodhi got hold of some a decade or so ago and did his little release.
@Travis Kelcee is that what you were referring to? - or are you talking about the Dutch Flowers guys selling their own packs?
Any info about DF and/or their Lemon Thai would be useful as there is not much out there that i can find... i had never really come across them until i discovered the clear, eyes-wide-open high of the LT which i wanted to preserve for myself and others as best i could. (it's probably not actually thai, supposedly Hawaiian but finishes fast)

VGLemon Thai: Grow + hopefully make some seeds !
Hi all, i've had a pack of Bodhi's small release of Lemon Thai 'F3' in the freezer for 10+ years and ive been looking for some LT seeds from another population of plants for a long time. Thanks to a tip off from a member here i managed to get a pack of LT seeds from Derg Corra, a low-key Danish...www.icmag.com
That's not 100% accurateList of strains Dutch Flowers made. Several have been preserved and several I never heard of. Someone has to know who the breeders were at DF.
