Thanks guys.

Well its 97 degrees in my tent with two 150 w LED Bars. I ran outta cash for a good intake fan, but opened up the flap to the right of the tent and put my cheap osculating fan that only blows across the bottoms of the pots. At first it dropped 6 degrees, but its been so hot coming from mother nature so it has jumped back up to 97 again.

I have trimmed fan leaves off as iv read this can help some in the defoliation thread, plus i believe it will help my lights penetrate better. The plants will look bad after 2 days, but with just a bit of water they perk up great, but im only 6 days into flower. I do open the tent for about 2 or 3 hours a day, but must run my lights at 2pm on and 2am off. I dont want to run this time but im limited and must run at this time. I understand i should have a proper fan, but it will not happen till October.

Can i use a spray bottle to cool them down as my LEDs rock, but are not really hot at all. My tent is 2'x4'x5'. What about freezing gallon jugs of water and put them behind the fan, which would put them outside the tent? Just brain storming.

Thanks for anything guys!

I would recommend you don't cut the fan leaves off right now.

In terms of cooling your place down, do you have an extra bed sheet? If so, get it wet with water (fully wet but not dripping) and hang it in front of an oscillating fan near your cab. That should drop the temperature a good bit..

have you tried using an exhaust rather than an intake? it's usually more efficient. and i hope no light leaches inside the grow area by passing between the fan blades.

Man its only a cheapy fan that is inside the tent sucking in air, but thats an idea i didn't think of, thanks. And i hope no light is getting in too, but i have wrapped the flap around the fan and moved the plants to the far left to prevent light leaking.

Thanks for the help my friend:thank you:

I think i could put something right behind the fan as it is in a roll in shower, which anything wet would go right down the drain. This i may try first.

Thanks again guys, great info i would have never thought of,

I'm 66 and gowing my 1st plant it has been a couple week and all i have is an 8 in. stem and 4 very small(total 1 in)leaves.
I have in a 2 foot pot in potting soil, sitting by the window in here next to me.:watchplant::watchplant:

I thought it would grow like a weed!!!

111 outside.

just for kicks i put 2 seeds under a bush in back yard ...couple days later they were couple inches tall with huge starter leaves.
then wild rabbits around here became stoners...lol:plant grow:
guess chicken wire and some tomato plant wire frames from store might make a good grow out there under that 'ol plant!

i to have a question?
1 what kind of soil would be recomended for indoor veg and would it be best to use a differnt type of soil for flowering? are exhaust fans loud?

One thing that probably most advanced growers know:
When you are watering sprouts, always add water to the bottom of the pot or pan that you have the sprouts setting in. This encourages the root to reach toward the water at the bottom, and strengthens it at the same time. Plus, you cannot over water(unless you try really hard) if you are only watering from the bottom, and heavily misting from the top.
Also, I always put a piece of plastic cellophane on top of the pot/cup (whatever you use) to cause the "greenhouse effect": Warm/humid temps for the seeds/sprouts. And I secure the cellophane with a rubber-band.
Now this next thing is so simple, and yet I had never thought of it before, but it is so true and I am certain it helps the seed-sprout adjust quickly to transfer into the soil.
Use warm(not hot) water to sprout it in-between the papertowels. And then, when you transfer the little hummer into a cup, make sure the water you use is warm. Can you imagine the shock to the seed/sprout if you were to use cold water?! Shrinkage. lol!
Just like a baby being born into warm water in a bathtub. It eases them through the transition.
I make my water just a tad warmer than room temp. And I do this for the first 2-3 days of planting the seeds.
Have NEVER(knock on wood) lost 1 seed, seedling, or plant. =)
Hope this helps someone out there!

Peace out~ :ying:

at what point during the grow cycle are you now? what size of pots do you use? what mix/medium? when did you observed the problem?

A flush may save them. then start watering with nutes @half strenght.
but it really depends on your conditions, so try to tell us more.

do you ph your water? what ph?
what nutes?

as you are almost finished with flowering, you could quit giving nutes. they should be ok.

:tiphat: HI Von,Brother,Explosive i am Firehound as you can tell. I grow in soil as well, learning other medias as i progress. I value ICM so very much, that at times i waste whole days here reading.....waiting for the lights to come on. You can understand ha ha ha. I am new to the semi-openess of wanting to share what i have learned growing our favorite,healthy,mind-freeing plant! I have found some very helpful information on the subject of ph on soil media and uses of nutrients to reach a better harmony within the substrate. I would appreciate any help you MODS could give. my attempt on putting up a link to help any grower with ph issues in their soil or effects of http://www.greenhousegrower.com/article/22103/understanding-plant-nutrition-managing-media-ph nutrients on that soil . Its good information i just dont know computers. HELP FIX THIS:wave:

thanks explosiv! hoped it helps someone....good day

:dance013:Even a lil lower will not hurt and will pick up more of the nutes it needs and wants. Even the EJ products i use my ph is 6.0 alot and i move it around a lil.Same with the MB on my other soil xperiment. Plants look good for me.But like any information recieved go easy and test ( a plant) not entire group. Cal-mag locks out at 6.4 in soil. FH:good:
