Hazeo´s Outdoor Adventures - Outdoor Growing Thread

I remember finding these bugs when I was a child and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what they were, who knew the whole time they were baby ladybugs.

everything looks great, casey and crosses are lovin it... best wishes and happy harvest :tiphat:
Hey Fluffy Clouds,
thank you for your good wishes; outdoors best wishes are always appreciated, caus you never know how the weather is gonna be this autumn o course...
...much rain this year would be awfull, i never had so much plants outdoors; it was such an almighty effort needed to start/keep the things running...

Cute little looking bugs you got there, weather is looking alot better in heaven rather than this northpole-climate :smoke:
Hey opiumo,
Yes weather is quite nice in my area during summer and beginning of autumn.
As i wrote Fluffy Clouds above iit is the main thing that it doesn´t get an raier autumn. But i noticed that the utums get more and more dry watching over the last years; so there is a good chance to harvest dry buds this year

yo hazeo thank you to show me this!!!
Hey StRa,
you are very welcome bro!!! :)

 hahaha Rosetta Stoned, it was the same with me...
...i first heard about what they are some years ago. and in my cause it was very late as well, saw them so often as a child; sooo cool freaks!

Part 2 - Lady-Bug documentation

Here you can see a larva on my hand; it directly shitted on it:

In this stage of growth the larva sticks itself
with the help of a yellow "drop" that comes out of it´s back under a leave and starts to pupate...:

here you can see it quite nice:

Sticking like this on a leave, the larva reacts immediately if you come close to it...
...it flips up instantly as an protective mechanism
; looks a bit like a weeble
smile.gif

-sorry, but i was hard to get that on photo
picture.php

-in the first moment it literally shocked me, as it flipped up the first time ...
at least i was surprised

On this pic you can see the larva with it´s pupation pretty much behind her, the latest skin is stripped of, and the young lady-bug worms itself out of the cocoon...

Now the fresh and wet lady-bug gets gradually
visible:

After some more hours you can identify the lady-bug as such, but he is still not matured to his final appearance what you can see on the dull/soft spots on his back...:

here you can see it quite good:

Here you can see the fresh leaved cocoon, the bug hasn´t come far:

I wish my spots had ladybugs! Last year, there where a few mantis's but I left them be and didn't move them to my spots.

Did you buy them?

Hey StRa & GrowersUnite,

no i didn´t buy or bring them to the spot.
I am always growing guerilla-style outdoors, so it is not such a wonder to find them on my plants....

I even found them in Berlin directly in the city-center, i should have some pics of that as well.... eehm, where are those...
ah, check this:

Hey Husky Jackal,

yes, season went great until now.
All plants on the well nursed spots are healthy, only some of the plants on spots i don´t care for have some minor issues, but that´s okay i think, most of them are close to harvest anyways.
Autumn dry and warm... would definitely be nice, and some days ago weather forecast said that we are headin an exceptionally warm autumn this year - so let´s keep finger´s crossed mate!

:thank you: i really appreciate your words :)

Hey Trichosaurus,

i think it won´t be such a big deal
but i am really happy if i could give some more details for parts of your dreams ;)
Great to have you in my thread, hope to see you every now and then in here until harvest :D
High regards
Hazeo

Hey Hazeo spectacular job. :)
My dream is to grow healthy, robust plants such as yours OD. I have always been more of an indoor grower but can appreciate the work and skill it takes to have a successful OD crop. I have had several outdoor ventures that went well but left a lot of room for improvement. Thats why I love looking at yours and others successful OD grows because it gives me something to aspire to. It seems preparedness and patience are my biggest faults when it comes to outdoors. Seeing grows like this truly inspire me enough to work on my skills. So Thank You. :tiphat:

I cannot wait to see what the next month or so holds for you and your plants. :)

Hey trichosaurus,

yes i think the most important ingredients of the recipe are on your list yet:
A big bunch of work at the beginning, patience and endurance during the long veg and bloom; and of course a green thumb :)
Are you going to grow outdoors guerilla style or do you gonna plant them in airpots at home in the garden? Second is quite easy, you are everytime around and can watch the plants, then it´s pretty like indoors... just with some more soil ;)

Thanks again for your nice words!

I shot a few new pics some days ago. But atm i can upload just one for now bcause i am a bit in hurry....
I hope i can show you some more tomorrow!

Today some new pics from the Thorn-Shrub Spot

aaaaah! This Manitoba Medicine in the middle of the spot is somehow unfortunate:

picture.php

First it was pushed down by a boar, i tied it up with some wire but now the rot on the stem gave her the rest and she felt down again...

picture.php

picture.php

As you can see the stem got more rotten so i teared her out immediately.

But the remaining 5 plants on this spot are at best health
