I smoked pheno 3 of haw fed, and it is that without character like they say, fine uplifting, but not euphoric, quite cold, so stony body effect to it too. but like vermontman say, it is very important to let it mature, and I should let this one flower one more week...

pheno5 with its sweet lemony/mentholy smell, super sticky, reminds me trainwreck. the effect is very active, and rushy, like you have to do something, that is sure. working weed. zero body effect. much more clear than trainwreck.

Just to throw this in here, Asian Beauty F2 bred by a buddy who got F1’s from @Huesos . Also at 9 weeks, this is reported to go about 15 weeks but we’ll see. I havent been able to check the trichs on this one yet because its in the back of the tent. However, the other pheno I have which is much taller with smaller buds has beautiful trich development, nice and full and almost milky white. I may let it go another 2-3 weeks. We’ll see.

So quite obvious that it is pheno dependent on this strain. Literally hit or miss but there is some gold in there

Having grown out about 300 of these I'd have to say you're oversimplifying slightly. As MAHA KALA stated, letting these mature is imperative if you want to avoid the icy raciness, but that's the case with many many varieties. There are expressions that are less mellow than others for sure, and some that are downright electric. I've never had a mature plant out of any of those that freaked me out or struck me as predominantly "cold" though.

@green-genes77 you must really dig the line if you've grown out over 300 plants. You would know the strain better than most. I'm only trying to ascertain if it's close to an IBL and for the best part the genotypes present themselves to be all very similar for certain traits, for example a warm and glowing buzz. Personally I've never really experienced a cold clinical buzz just because the plants haven't reached full maturity. But that's just me, but to be fair I have always gone the distance with plants even if that means I harvest half a room whilst those that need more time carry on. Anyhow I'm just trying to get a feel for what I can expect from the strain as it sound somewhat unique to me

Howzit, growers?
Couple pages back I was asked to take pictures before harvesting the 12' Thai.
In this, I have failed.
Saw a couple amber capitate glands, got all excited, and grabbed my chop scissors.
Cut off the top third before taking more pics.
As usual, I claim side effects.

Here's da bottom 2/3rds.

And a C.U.

You will notice all the fox-tails, yah?

Buds look fat, but are quite "fluffy".
So, change of plan.
Am nipping those tails only and guessin' that it's how Thai sticks are made. These pups would be a breeze to tie to sticks and ferment as a batch.
Another plus is that they might grow back for a second trimming, yah? (The clones are a month behind long tall Sally.)
The tails are well frosted, stem and all.
My intention is to do an African "Cob" cure with them.
Once compressed, fermented, and dried, they can last for several years and be carved into proper dosage.
I no sell, so don't need dense, pretty buds.
The remaining flowers will be harvested later and will get ice water hashed. That yields about 10% resin by weight from the capitate glands. The wet mess then gets dried and the remaining 10% in the sessile glands will be extracted with a solvent. The spent mess then goes to the compost pile with the fans. Very little waste.

Mahalo nui loa for the excellent Sativa advice.
Anything I can do for my advisors? No be shy.

I'll starts a medical cob cure thread to document this process and post progress there and in the cob cure thread
Aloha nui loa.
Weeze

From what I have heard a 22 week flowering is about right for that one. Takes forever but you know what the result will be. Some people have the patience and some don't. I once grew Malawi Gold and let it go for 22 weeks. Excellent results but the wait was killer.

Please take a picture right before you chop it.

Hola Thcvhunter,

I have a BOEL Oaxacan folder in my photo Galary however I do not know what year the stock is originally from. I was kindly gifted the strain by Olifant via Mr. A many moons ago and did a repro to keep it alive. Good specimens are in the population, solid potency, and old school flavours...here is one girl in my garden this year:)

@green-genes77 would you happen to be saturnalia? I recently saw that Lucky 13 up here in Canada acquired Fed's Hawaiian Sativa..following the trail with a couple clicks on IG and I find this same delicious bud picture!
