geology proves that current co2 levels are way below previous peaks and your net zero agenda is nothing more than a scam, and your idiot ideas cause more harm than good .
No one in the thread has said that these changes aren't natural.

The argument is that the current rising levels are human induced, and that the levels likely to be reached will be a threat to human existence, at least in many areas. The potential threat to agriculture is massive (our ability to sustain a population). Not to mention mass migrations, water security, famines, etc.

Cool so its all natural warming and cooling and warming and cooling and warming and here we are today.

Maybe we should stop the mass migrations, the rest of it is just normal weather for Australia.

Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains."

the question isn't weather (lol) the giant spinning rock can handle big shifts, the question is how bad will the mass extinctions get and how bad will the economic ramifications be.

anyway, i thought we were gonna start small... can we agree that geology is not just conjecture?

cause that was one of the gripes, right? that the idea of climate change isn't built on scientific theories? but it is

What climate change ?

There has been a moderate amount of warming since the little ice age ended, most of it happened well before the 20th century, the rate of glacial melting and sea level rise has been constant long before man started pumping out modest amounts of Co2, there is no proof that Co2 causes run away warming anyway, if it causes any at all that is measurable beyond the margin of error.

How does Co2 heat the surface of the planet anyway ?

Obviously it can, we swing from glacial to interglacial periods and life still go's on.

THe economic ramifications are huge with the planet trying to get to "net zero" Co2 emmisions, the costs are enormous for no discernible benefit.

Seeing how nobody on here wants to answer the question I'll ask google AI or Chat Bot or whatever the fuck its called, be back in 5/10 minutes or so with an answer :ROFLMAO:

When you get past the BS default statements made by Chatgpt and actually ask real science questions Chatgpt unknowingly gives you everything you need :ROFLMAO:

As I thought its all bullshit
you know how venus is hotter than mercury?
Yeah apparently it is, but.
"Venus's atmosphere does not follow a radiative feedback model. It operates under a convective/pressure-induced collisional de-excitation (CDE) mechanism. Radiative de-excitation (RDE) is not the dominant factor in Venus’s atmosphere."

"The atmosphere of Venus is much denser than Earth's, with a surface pressure about 93 times that of Earth's."

Pressure causes heat does it not ?

are you implying that carbon dioxide (one of a host of greenhouse gases) is supposed to be providing the heat?

venus isn't heated by its atmosphere, afaik... the sun heats venus and the atmosphere traps the heat.

maybe i'm thinking too elementary and you're doing 4D chess, it's just that it seems you are implying CO2 should be the thing causing heat... which is strange to my pea brain

No it has the same pyisical propertys/characteristic's ? as earth, its hotter because its closer to the sun and the atmospere is 93 times more dense than earth, Co2 has nothing to do with it, it could be any gas as long as its denser and closer to the heat source it will be hotter

The surface of Venus has more heat because its denser and closer to the sun.

compared to mercury, venus is hotter (and more consistently so) because it has a snow- suit and a giant downy wooly comforter...

but mercury has naught but a thin silky undergarment...

and right now, we are adding cotton sheet after cotton sheet here on earth
