Sorry--IMO, it has nothing to do with the images being pieced together--because technically--all of Google Earth's representations are 100% "images pieced together". And since the earth is basically a ball shaped (actually more elliptical than spherical) the image at any location would be "like looking straight into a mirror and expecting to see the top of your head". Breaking news--earth is not flat, lol.
I just took a look at Google Earth. The South Pole image is a series of north-south strips which are nested together. Each strip tapers to a point where they all nest together at the pole. Where they all meet together like spokes on a wheel, the tapered points are so thin, and packed together so tight, that there must be some difficulty deriving an image at this location. It's an artifact of their piecing together strips on a sphere to make a representation of the globe's surface.
The North Pole region doesn't even try to show the surface sea ice. Instead they have a representation of the Arctic sea bottom based upon bathymetric data.
Do you get these ideas from Alex Jones?
the anti HAARP sites throw around scary terms like 'changes to the atmosphere' and 'megawatts of energy' are accurate but misleading
the amount of energy delivered is very small compared to the energy already present
it's just fear mongering, at least at the global scale
The amount of energy released by a hurricane is profoundly greater than humans can produce through an electrical generating system. Yet I read of people saying that governments are creating these storms and directing them as weapons. And the internet is full of similar nonsense. Who is gaming our society by posting all this misinformation? It's pretty incredible.
