child covid cases account for 18% of current covid cases. more than 121,000 in cases in children just last week. nothing you posted disproves what i said lmao. it says in one of the very first sentences that you quoted that children CAN STILL GET INFECTED. WHICH IS THE ENTIRE POINT OF WHAT I'M SAYING. Unvaccinated and unmasked kids who aren't social distancing, can go to school, potentially catch covid, and potentially spread it to teachers and their families. so i ask again, why is teaching children about wearing masks and social distancing in schools a bad thing?

The report released Monday counted over 121,000 new coronavirus infections among children between August 5 and 12 based on data provided from the health departments of 49 states.

This marks an almost 30% increase from the 94,000 cases counted the week prior and a more than 200% jump from mid-June, when just 39,000 Covid-19 cases were tallied among kids.

Up from 15% the week prior, children represented 18% of all reported cases over the past week.

Hospitalization and death from Covid-19 remains “uncommon” among children, the pediatrics group highlighted, with between 0.00% and 0.03% of all infections ending in death in the states that reported virus-related deaths by age.

However, the AAP published an “urgent” call for more data collection “on longer-term impacts of the pandemic on children” from “long-term physical health” to “emotional and mental side effects.”

“After declining in early summer, child cases have steadily increased since the beginning of July,” the report said, detailing a surge that corresponds with the rise of the more infectious delta variant.

Some stores have signs that read if you are fully vaccinated no mask required but I don't see how they can trust people to be honest about that. I will not risk my life or family so I will continue to wear my mask in any store. My risk is low but some are still getting sick after getting vaccinated, no reason to risk it.
