thought I´d do a quick follow up:
took my sleep meds at 7pm last night and surprisingly fell asleep fairly quicky 8-8.30 pm. Usually the stuff takes several hours to really work. Woke at at 7 am and woke up calm and well rested. I feel SOOO much better today!

Took it relatively easy this morning until lunchtime or so. Took care of vital work all afternoon and I´m pretty pleased :)
The most important/urgent issue is still on my list but I´ll get it done tomorrow.

Still lacking appetite which happens often but had an apple at around lunchtime, haven´t had a meal or anything substantial since tuesday evening but that´s okay I guess.

I´m definetly taking my prescription meds after my second vax shot ! I´m not gonna sit there like vegetable zombie for another night and day again, NO WAY! After all I got to get my new tiny business off the ground!

For some, the reaction after jab #2 is the same as for jab #1, but I'd caution you that for many it's not. I had little to no negative effect from my first Moderna jab, other than less than an hour of barely discernible nausea that only briefly popped its head up for a moment at a time, maybe 2-3 times, oddly enough, in Costco and Lowes; both places I would have been alarmed to have to puke inside a P100, had the urge been more than minor and/or fleeting.

The 2nd one kicked my ass hard for about 15-18 hours or so, and I was done with it, but truly felt like dog feces for that period.

The 3rd jab was more close in description to the experiences of a couple friends in the Yukon Territory of Canada, and left me with close to 2-1/2 to 3 days of moderate (+/-) flu symptoms, minus the nausea.

Like with many things, whether recreational drugs, or illnesses, or (????), it can be short-sighted sometimes to assume the reaction or experience will be the same each time.

Just a cautionary, quasi-paternalistic statement.

True! Aren't you the one who was seriously sick with another quite serious ailment. couldn't that be construed as a cause?

My cancer and other issues may have exacerbated the symptoms via already having my immune system on locked-and-loaded status, but my 2 (slightly) older friends in the Yukon, while having various (more mild or tame) health issues associated with older age and such, also had the experiences of a nasty sense of being that resembled flu symptoms or :"feeling puny" from their Moderna vaccinations.

My wife is pretty healthy, overall, and her second Pfizer jab left her with malaise for a day or 3.

My 17-year-old younger son had (more or less) zero symptoms associated with his vaccinations, both times.

In short, I know of persons both old and young, as well as in between, who had no negative effects, and fairly stout negative effects, and in between on the continuum.

In the end, my observation is that the reactions to the vaccination are remotely similar to the virus(es) itself; it varies from person to person, and jab to jab, with some amount of unpredictability associated with who gets what.

The second Moderna shot caused me fatigue and malaise. I took some Tylenol and went to bed. The next day was much better.

The first shot got me. I felt the beginning of a cold later that night before bed with a very sore arm. I just worked through it following day next day making sure to use my sore arm as normal. I felt 100% the following day. No issues with the second shot.

my first vax shot i cried like a baby...because i was...or at least i was less than 2 years old....the later ones i at least got a lollipop from the doctor...as far as the covid vax, first shot was like getting knuckle punched at the injection site, otherwise no side effects....second shot,no arm soreness, but i was down for a day....slept most of it,had ginger ale and crackers which is methodist penicillin....moderna was the type...

new mexico made it stupidly simple to sign up,very slick system, even to the point where it sent a text telling you your 15 minute wait period after the shot was over, automatically made the appointment for the second shot, and even allowed me to sign up for the lottery....i didn't win and my demand for a recount has fallen on deaf ears:biggrin:

I support that decision! I didn't particularly found it amusing, rather a consequence of their decisions.

Yep us that work in hospitals take care of all kinds of shitbags, doesnt matter if you're insured, vaccinated or whatever. We have to cater to an unvaccinated gangbanger getting shot while slinging rock in the hood the same we would anyone.
But a direct donated kidney to save a life.....NO SOUP FOR YOU!!!

I find it terribly amusing 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just curious...

Do they use immunosuppressive drugs after a transplant?

Typically yes, sometimes for the rest of your life.
However new renal recipients are encouraged to wait months post transplant to receive vaccinations.

She'll be dead before that anyways,so no biggie

I got a hep-B vaccine for a trip to South-Africa ten(ish) years ago. Shit cost like 60 euro dollars a pop and it was 2 parts. But I took it 'cause someone said they won't let me in to the country without one. So I got a vaccine pass to prove that I had it, and no one ever asked or cared about it. I don't have hep-B either. So cool I guess.
But yea I bought the vaccine and went to the nurse so she could stab the damn shit in my arm. Not a big deal, sit down. Mainline the stuff and be home in ten minutes. But it was a big ass syringe with a hefty needle, and as soon as the nurse lady stuck it in my arm. I remember trying to make a comment about it feeling strange and then, nothing.

So I wake from what I think is my bed and I'm like damn it's cold. And why do I have three ladies hovering above, seems like this was a night worth remembering..
So the vaccine nurse is like oh thank Jesus Mary and Joe, you're back! What's your name? Do you know where you are?
And I'm like I know my name, lady, but I'd be lying if I said I remember yours. Or your two friends. Why is my bed so cold?

It's because you passed out and crashed on the concrete floor and we have anesthesia doctor on the way because you've been out more than 15 minutes.

I don't know if I hit my head on the way down, but that messed up my whole rest of the day. Massive headache and felt really bad all over.
And the nurse lady was all worried and made me lay down there for about an hour while she was doing paper work. I was getting bored and she wouldn't let me go.
Until she did. And I was like damn that sucked. Only good thing is that I got six months until the next shot.

And she was like dude, I barely scratched the surface of your skin. Come back tomorrow and we do this for real.
So I went back next day and same lady was there, you could tell she was nervous. Which is not a good thing because she's gonna stab me with the big ass needle again.
But she had a plan, made me sit in one of them seat where ladies sit when they get their lady parts checked out or when they are pregnant.
And then she stabbed me and it all went just fine. Told me to always mention this when I get vaccinated so that the nurses can prepare if I faint like a bitch.
I've been vaccinated a couple of times after that, hep-b again and yellow fever shot when I went to jungles in Panama. Never fainted again, but always got vaccinated in those lady chairs.
Which is fine if you're a lady. But for a super duper awesome and cool guy like me.. Not that cool. I get vaccinated like a bitch. And this is why I didn't get COVID vaccinations yet.
My hot body, my choice. Only I can't pick a chair, or a stool, not even one of those little kid chairs. It's always the damn preggers chair.

So yea, all you guys who said I'm a dumbass for not getting vaccinated and I said it's because reasons. Now you know. I'm a victim and you guys teasing me about it does not help.
Yea ok I made that part up, and feel free to call me a dumbass and tease me. That's cool. I just wanted to see what it would feel like playing the victim card. 4/10, didn't work for me.

Rest of the stuff is actually true. And South-Africa is a nice place to visit. Just stay outta Johannesburg, that place is pretty rough.
You can hire a hitman there for about 4$,50.
No guarantees on getting the job done because those dudes were fucked up all the time, but $4,50 hitman. You can't beat that price anywhere on the planet.
Maybe in Brazil. And Burma. Maybe Cambodia. Colombia..

But enough about that. Fat rapper dude Rick Ross said something like "I'm from a place where ni§§as kill you for ya sneakers", which is pretty rough.
But then you go to Johannesburg, where you could get killed for your sneakers too. But the guy shooting you is so high and he forgets what he is doing after shooting you before your body hits the floor. So he just shoots you and walks away, then ten minutes later goes like Damn it! I forgot the damn shoes!

That is the difference between 1st world shithole, and a 3rd world shithole. And for the record I have never hired a hitman, I was buying drugs.
Which I wouldn't recommend in Johannesburg now that I think about it. I wore flip flops tho, not a big market for them over there because the nights get cold.
Guy showed me his gun, asked me if I knew what it was. I was like yea, that's a vector SP1, the South-African copy of Beretta 92fs. Which I don't think you can buy if you are a civilian, did you kill a cop to get that gun?

And then you realize that you shouldn't joke about everything, because, well, maybe he did. You don't brag about that stuff. I wouldn't. I don't know.

Drugs can kill you. Also they can get you killed. But if they don't, there's a decent story in there.
Never went back there tho, bought weed from hipster reggae bar nerds after that. They were unarmed, safe, and white.
Kinda bland guys trying to act cool, tourist prices. So I told em I knew this guy Zebron, he had better prices.
Dude said man, you actually went met that guy in a dark alley somewhere in Johannesburg while being white?
Well yea, can't do much about it.
Yea, you're lucky you didn't get robbed, or shot.
And I was like nope, I have a medical plan that says don't get shot. So that was never an option.
Plus I smoked some of what Zebron guy was smoking. I have no idea what it was, but it makes thinking really hard. Numbs your body, takes away reflexes and you really can't feel your legs. Could walk on broken glass and hot coal and not realize it. Which is not the kinda stuff I usually smoke. But sometimes when you realize you're in way over your head. That stuff calms you down nicely. Could maybe get shot once or twice and walk to the hospital. Don't try that at home, pure speculation and like I said, I have no idea what those dudes smoked. Coulda been depleted uranium mixed with asbestos for all I know. Those street guys in that part of the world have strange cocktails. But enough about that because this went pretty far from a simple vaccination story.

Come back next week, I have a story from Colombia that involves swimming in raw sewage and getting really sick afterwards. Then trying to tell a Colombian doctor not to stab me in my butt cheek with antibiotic vaccine. In Spanish. Which is something like "Oye doctor! No me metas la nalga con esa aguja. Por favor. Livin la vida loca!"

Which did work, but rather than try memorizing that. Try not to swim in raw sewage. In my defence, how was I supposed to know they pump that shit straight into the ocean next to a public beach. It's not sanitary and we have regulations against that where I live. Which is pretty far from Colombia, where they don't care. But you'd think they would pump the damn shit a bit further. And why was there kids fishing in the stream of shit. Those dudes have really strong stomachs.

Hmm, that's pretty much next week's story right there. I remember it being better. Well, they can't all be winners. I do have a story from St. Petersburg, Russia. Where I got clawed by this chick with big ass nails so bad that I couldn't sleep on my back for about two weeks. But I'm saving that for my autobiography. It's pretty kinky.

..I'll just show myself out..

Living in Johannesburg is pretty tough. My cousin lived there for quite sometime, but his house was just like a prison. What I read they smoke Xanax with dagga, which seems to be a common mixture.

Plantation somewhere in South-Africa

Open sewage into the sea was in the west quite common too in the earlier days, but nowadays most places have sewage treatment plants, unless you have a high rainfall in a small time, then there is a high chance of raw sewage into sea.Warnings will be given then.

No argument there good buddy, a simple question.

We can only state how things have affected us... I got the Hong Kong flue back in the day, and if that was mild compared to Covid, it then becomes a no brainer.

Earlier on in the pandemic it was touted that those that got the HK flue in the day (60s) "could" be immune to Covid. I wasn't about to play Russian roulette with my health.

I am glad I'm in my twilight years. It is human nature (survival) so understandable. That being said... regardless of "affiliations" the shit show that is hitting the planet, I have no desire to see or participate. A lot of anti vaxers seem to think they can avoid what is coming buahhaha!
