Welcome Vlad!! You've found a great place with Icmag. Lots of great grows and genetics to be seen. How goes your garden?

When you are testing seeds/ pheno hunting. Would you cull a female before harvest? Have three that still are NOT showing signs of flower, so going by desired outcomes/characteristics these would have excluded themselves from final selection already.
It's not a problem to flower them all out, but also have other things that I could fill those three slots with.

Plants are looking really healthy and happy. Room environment has been great. High of eighty and low of sixty five. low humidity.

Clones are looking like they'll root: all the hpxpc phenos, BCS (finally), Khmer golds, goblin queens, hash plant, ace, ken's, x18, etc. All taken last week, resisted my light pull at them today. WOot woot. Will transplant into 4" this week.

Flowering plants are drinking up water. Running two flowering lights right now, but only running each for eight hours a day, they are side by side. 12 hours of total light, but with 8 direct and 4 hours not so direct. Saves me 5.6 kw per day. Hopefully after this run I can run all three lights again. Pocket cheese is silver and fridge cheese is green. Good times.

Fall garden is taking off. Chard, broccoli's, peas, garlic, favas, cilantro, cucumbers and beans. Coming in happily. Sowed several pounds of cover crop seeds the other day. Covered with compost, shredded leafs, and coffee ground mix.

Still have 4 grapefruit x master kush outside. want to see how cold and moisture hardy they are. Turn the line into spring and fall bumper candidates.

Their pre flowers sexed em as ladies, but compared to the other 9 hpxpc they're at least 10 days behind. The 9 are all budding up, turning into little white balls on bud sites. Whereas the 3 in question are just starting to tighten up, but no pistils yet.

I'll see them thru. Plants aren;t crammed. Be harvesting five pots in December, followed by the hpxpc in janruary. Have some happy plants waiting their turn.

Still want to observe pheno variance to then end. see if aroma/flavor/high are hiding.

I've thought about tossing females that were slow, just never had the heart.
That, and some of the finicky slow fuckers turn out great.
Then if you do, then gotta live with the mystery of what could have been.

That's were I'm at. Just because they don't fit the parameters of what we're looking for out of the line, doesn't mean I won't find something great for personal or other projects. Already put all the time, soil, and water into them, I'll see them thru another 8-12 weeks :)

Don't need to kill em. I'll enjoy their bounty either keeper or end of the line.

So one of my goblin queens has thee longest, thinest fingers after the Khmer gold!! They're like witches fingers, long scary things. I'll photograph in morning. Twisty leaf one, is starting to be twisty again. Topped the twisty one, very short node spacing, thick canopy. Dark leaves on both.

Loving the chandelier like canopy that is developing on the x18. hope it's a lady. but will take the pollen as well!!

The hpxpc male that showed late (#16) is happy out in the greenhouse. Put a collar on it today to start collecting pollen this week. It's a good one...short, smelly, lots of tight clusters. Will hold onto clones.

Top dressing with ewc and compost this week, little kelp meal mixed in.

Happy with what is happening with my grapefruit line...it's performing well both indoors and out right now. Weather's been great 70's high mid 50's low.

Gob queens with heavy mutations rarely produce good bud, never really grow well.
But if you can get just one top to grow normal, then you can start a new, less mutated cut.

Well one is the twisty leaf and the other is a scraggly 'lack of better words' thing with creepy fingers and a shady demeanor. Got some demons in her. Have planned to flower in december, but if not worth the energy...it can feed the worms. I'll get pics up, it's a ducking ugly plant. And has only gotten more so the older it has gotten. Twisty, started out weird, straightened out and now is going back to being twisted (this is after taking cuttings, stress induced?)

The twisted leaf phenos are like a gourmet meal.
The stuff is sooo! flavorful.

I started 40 Gob Q's
24 were too mutated to even ID as weed.
Demon fingers  no doubt.
By the time I sorted through the sexing, ended with only 7 girls.
From that I kept the best of 2 twin girls, tested at 19.48 and 19.87%.

I did learn something from the Goblin line, you can alter your keepers through cutting selection.
Whether variegation or leaf mutation, if you take a cut that is mostly mutation free, it will clean the cut up and make it workable.
Continue the process as needed.
Out of all my lines, goblin queen is at the top.
It is the sweetest smoke ever.

Toss the mutant, beyond ugly Betty.

That mutant may throw a clean top.
Most are worse than that.
May want to top it to get the side branches up.
If there is a clean top, worth the grow.

Seems like the twisty is reverting back to its twisty behavior at the last couple new nodes. It was topped a couple days ago to promote all of its tight node spacing growth to come up and grab some decent cuts of it.

Topped the witches fingers today. Don't know if one can tell greatly from the picture but the leafs have gotten thinner and longer towards the top of the plant.

Can't wait to be back from travels to pop seeds, get more into flowering + cloned out and vegging.

Who runs LED lights? SG I believe you've followed a couple LED grows....? Is the technology there...intial cost vs output/performance. Or just wait and switch back to digital ballast for now. I lost all my digital ballasts (10 each) when I left the buckeye state. What I get for helping out a brother in need = a knife in my back and a sore ass. haha.

Was looking at Mr. Nice's line up yesterday, several things caught my eye.

When collecting pollen from a male how often do you empty the collection tray?? I put a card board collar lined with wax paper round my super duper male HPxpc male. Couple sacks are starting to open. But if I were to leave it un-collected for two weeks would it still be okay? 12/12 started on 10/19. found out male last week, dense balls, super smelly, great structure, shorty.

Really excited to pop the x18 seeds! among everything else. just what's on my mind currently. moving on from all my sativa thoughts.

I need to smoke, find some clarity and continuity for these thoughts.

Raining today after long spurt of great weather. Whatever going to winter's asshole this week. bye bye shorts and no shirt hello dry skin and cold feet.

.

The twisty leaf pheno is fine with the twisty leaf, no use trying to correct something that causes no harm.
Quite a few grown out, not a problem.

LED's are proven science to me, followed many threads while knowledge gathering.
BUT! From what I have seen, I think the grow could benefit from additional HID lighting.

I will be buying 10 to 12 new LED's this next year.
Reason being is that I had some serious heat issues since I had to split my flower room up to increase wattage.
This left me running hot lights during hot weather and had to drop a light for A/C.

These are the lights I am going to buy.
Done a ton of research and these are made in the USA and have nothing but high reviews for both function and customer service.
No China town lighting for me.

http://advancedledlights.com/3w-led-grow-lights/new-diamond-series-xml-10w-cree-xml/#reviews

I will be running 4 of these and 1 each of 1000wt HPS and MH.
With the 12 -10wt CREE LED's in the unit and HID's mixing it up, should grow me some big ass gardens without the suppressing heat, And still have enough power for my A/C

good call... cree & luxion are the only ones worth even half a shit... chinese knockoffs put 4x2.5w diodes together in one tiny unit under the same "bubble" and call it 10w...
