Anyone ever had problems with pill/sow bugs? I had like 6 or 7 seedlings get nibbled on :/ caught them on the leaves red handed lol. Will neem work if I give it in the watering next time. I've heard it used as a systemic but wanted to see if anyone here has dealt with them before?

YES! See my rant in the Outdoor Growing / Rant thread. I lost 150 seed starts (80%) this Spring cuz of those fuckers, including some hard to source strains and one irreplaceable high CBD strain that I was going to propagate to make more beans (had 6 beans left, lost them all) The fix is Diatomaceaous Earth, go crazy with it, its just slicate (finely ground sand) it will only hurt the creepy crawlers.

I like to try jiffy green houses for planting after soaking the bean in water. (my beans don't crack in water for soaked in water for some reason, so eventually I have to manually crack them and put them in the greenhouse.) this way I don't have to worry about the seedlings being burned from heat or being eaten by bugs. I make sure to open up the lid for 5/10 minutes a day for air exchange. (IMPORTANT)

Hey Master Kusher welcome to Guerilla Growing Underground! Glad that you decided to stop in.

I don't see why your seeds won't crack when soaked in water. I have read somewhere about a recommended short time for soaking, i'm thinking between 6 and 12 hours maybe? Which I totally ignore that suggestion. I rarely have seeds to crack within 12 hours from soaking. This will however soften their shell.

What I do is soak the seeds in a clean and sterile plastic solo cup (the clear ones that you can put sauces in) and always use bottled water. Never use tap water for this method as I have found it to not be good at all for the beans.

I have recently started adding 3ml of sea weed juice to my bottle of water before pouring into the cup, then shake it up good. Pour mixture into cup and then throw in the seeds. I always let mine sit under the sink in the dark and it stays pretty warm in there for at least 24 hours. Usually 40 out of 50 or more seeds crack open. Don't be afraid to give them some time sitting. Just keep and eye on them. The older the seed, the longer the soak. My last batch I actually forgot about and left sitting for 3 1/2 days. Tap roots were about a half inch to an inch long when I checked. I then poured them over paper towels to give oxygen and let them sit folded up in the moist paper towels until planted. They are 6 inches tall today!

goodluck^

do you use atvs to move all that about?

anyone ever sprayed down pre-flower plants with Bordeaux mix ? got my first leaf spot yesterday. plucked them off, gave them some horsetail and sprayed them down with dr bronners.

Nah bro, I used to use atvs a little here and there. I use vehicles more often than the atv but I haul most everything on foot. You should see my forearms and traps, the peaks are snow capped and you would have no problem finding a spot to pitch a tent!

Haha just kiddin' bro, but for real, I do LOTS of physical hauling.

nice one Gantz lol. The seeds are fresh Mountain Budz, so maybe they don't need to be soaked as long in the water before being put into the greenhouse?(less than 2 or 3 months old)

Up until 12 days ago, it had not been above 90 degrees this year.
Most days were about 84 degrees and the humidity was about 48%. I thought I was in heaven!

The last 12 days, every day has been 95 to 98 and the humidity is around 85% all day long.... I go out to water about 8 am and am sweating my buns off long before I'm finished...
I'm lucky.. I dug this secret garden 5 years ago...It's unfindable.

I found a trickle of water coming out of the ground and build the garden less than 100 feet away, slightly downhill..
The water trickles out from under a big rock at about 1 quart per minute and evaporates or soaks back into the ground before it goes 150 feet...
I dug out below it and built a small dam.. It holds about 120 gallons and I roll out my 100 foot hose when I go to water the girls...
Once I prime my hose in mid-May, I cap both ends of it after I water and before I roll it back up, to keep the hose primed...

The girls are looking pretty good so far.. Here's two of them.
The girl in the second pic is 8 ft. tall and about 7 ft. wide...

...

whats that 2nd plant bro? that is gonna be massive. my biggest is the berry bomb its about 6 foot tall and 10 foot wide..i fimmed it 3 times and super cropped early in veg..im happy with it so far it should finish first half of sept to.

I have 3 golden tigers, 3 zamaldelicas, and 3 Ace fem mixed girls that are two foot tall vegged under 20/4 that need to go in there permanent containers soon. Wish I knew how to upload pics from my phone without compromising (and knowing for a fact) that it won't compromise my security.

How does Zamaldelica do outdoors? I have been really interested in this strain. I would probably go with the fem version as Dubi said it has better chance of finishing in my climate 42° N. I love sativas and really feel like I haven't been "high" in a long time. I started smoking 90's Mexican brick. I really miss the intense, paranoid, intensified senses of sound and sight, and uplifting and clean sativa buzz.

I haven't ran Zamaldelica outside before but I can tell you it is monstrous and one hell of a fast growing plant. I feel it would do amazing, especially if your season will run into November like mine will. Lots of people are afraid of frosts but honestly a few frosts will not hurt a mature plant at all.

I did run a Malawi and Zamal Hash last year which was pretty zamal dominant and it did amazing. In a 7 gallon container it got 7 1/2 foot tall and yielded about 5 ounces. It was put out very late though, but zero mold, zero problems other than being root bound. If i'd had it in the ground or a 30 gallon container i'd likely got a couple lbs from it.

One thing about those landrace sativas, they are not good at all for stealth. You can't keep them down like and indica or a hybrid, even a sativa dominant hybrid. These things grow like kudzu vines, wild as hell.

:tiphat:

Ps: This year I plan on running my Golden Tigers, Zamaldelicas and Malawi's and other ACE mixed strains in 30 gallon containers. They will be going outside soon and i'll make sure to upload some photos if i'm able to do so.

I agree as well, I love the spiritual, lysergic and energetic effects of a good landrace sativa and so far ACE's strains have never let me down.

How long did you say you usually soak them before planting? And do you leave them soaking long enough for a tap root to emerge from the broken/split shell?

Well guys, it is official, I am finally germinating my last round of beans for the year of 2017. I love popping beans but at this point, I need to stop and focus more on "on site guerilla labor" than germinating so many beans. I will veg them at a partners "safe house" till September first and put them out 3 plants per 5 gallon grow bag. They are non fem reg's, so hoping for at least one to two females per pot and at least an ounce to two per bag as well.
