People...What's with the Darkroom? Seems to be well made, ad perfect for 1000w?
VirginHarvester said:Are DR/Jardin same as The Homebox? I notice they have the similar features, same price(on sale at BG hydro), and same dimensions on the model I'm interested in 2'8"x 2'8"x 63".
Or, if anyone cares to look at the specs on both and compare strengths/weaknesses, much appreciated. As a newbie to indoor considerations I can't tell which is best, if they are different.
The Valueline in-line fans at plantlightinghydroponics.com are comparable in quality to Vortex fans and relatively inexpensive...As for an inline fan and carbon filter, I have no earthly idea which to get and where to get it cheapest. I know it's important but the above tents are a pretty small space at just 36cf so I wouldn't think I need anything too powerful. So any suggestions there?
Yes.Is carbon scrubber and carbon filter same thing?
While the initial outlay might be a little pricey, proper ventilation is a must to have a successful grow. Otherwise your overall yield will suffer. And a quality carbon scrubber is definitely a must, as it is what keeps your grow covert (among other things).I'm just looking for enough height and space to grow three or four indica leaning strains or a couple sativas where I might have to train or LST them a bit. Would be a lot of fun and doable for me if I can just get rid of smell. Seems like inline fan and carbon filter are really expensive though.
Last questions I'm going to ask, sorry to hijack:panopticist said:I've went the DIY route and while it's nice for learning the ropes, there's no getting around the fact that quality gear allows for a better growing environment, which is half the battle. (The other half is learning how to read your plants, which comes with practice and experience and can't be bought.)
statictattoo said:I dunno maybe this has been said this is a very long thread, but I got two tents, a Homebox L and a clonebox, I looked around for tents before i bought, i found the homebox line to be the cheapest just for the simple fact you can order direct from them and cut out the middle man. I can't comment on the construction of other tents, but the homebox's are germen built and high quality. I was impressed with everything except the package, cheapest box known to man, and why do they gotta put homebox and clonebox on the packaging? What happened to discreet?
Just some thoughts
Yah i was not happy that the box was labeled, but you never get anything grow related sent to the grow addy anyways, so its not a super big deal. But they did have it shipped out the next day and i got it a week later. Probably been quicker if it didnt have to go over the border.UBER21 said:Yeah security first.....thats not cool.....I heard the exact opposite from the homeboxes....MAny guys that purchased them said they are very cheap and dont hold up well.......most complaints were light leaks and poorly made stitching on the zippers which tear after use......Right now it seems the secret jardins are the best but bghydro's shipping policy sucks ass......3-4 days listed on the site but u get ur chit a month later......

- For a 31x31x63" space would 4" fan and filter be enough or would going to 6" make a lot of difference?
Nah. One should do it...- If I had a air cooled hood it means I would have to have a fan and ducting to pull/push air across the hood, and the carbon fan and filter connected to its own ducting to allow air to be pulled from the space and filtered. So two fans in that case, right?
Scrubbers can be used either inside or outside of the tent, depending on your setup. All that matters is that the stank air is ran through scrubber before it is released into the room where others may smell it...- I see the carbonaire filters on plantlighting.com but are active air charcoal filters and organic air charcoal filters and scrubbers used inside the grow space?
You're welcome.Thanks.
So that the air cooled hood only has one end connected to ducting? Makes sense. But that means I'm not pulling cool air across the hood from the outside room... I'm probably starting with 400w so maybe no big deal.panopticist said:Nah. One should do it...
Start with your air-cooled reflector, you'd duct that to your inline fan, which is ducted to your carbon scrubber, then you'd duct the exhaust out of your tent.
The other type scrubbers looked less expensive. But carbon filters still the best choice?Scrubbers can be used either inside or outside of the tent, depending on your setup. add in to that the homebox L is a good 2 feet taller than the tent he is asking about (the dr80 which is 5' 3"). I just got a dr80 and a 4" inch vortex to go with it. i'll be running a 400w hps in it as soon as I hit flower. I have my fan and ducting hooked up and the ducting inside the tent that is sucking feels literally like a vacuum cleaner. I run it full bore without a speed controller and it is up in the attic exhausting.statictattoo said:unless your going to upgrade in the future i think a 6" fan is a lil over kill for a homebox L, mine is super loud, and sucks in the tent something fierce
Are you using a fan speed controller or is the thing running wide open?statictattoo said:unless your going to upgrade in the future i think a 6" fan is a lil over kill for a homebox L, mine is super loud, and sucks in the tent something fierce
