GROW TENTS !!!!!!!!!

Hey i just purchased a hydro hut mini and it is great. im about to flower but there are 3 flaps at the bottom for circulation, and i was wondering should i cover the flaps before i flower to prevent hemi's or are the flaps fine??

depends on how much light you have around the hut?

I have my Hut in a bedroom with blacked out windows. I also use these windows to pull in fresh air. Before lights off/on, there's a very slight hint of light coming from a corner of the black visquine that isn't stapled to the window frame.

The combination of the room being totally dark, and the hut being light tight, I try not to worry about it.

would you yield more with 3 3x3 tents or 1 4x8 tent, 600s in the 3x3s and 2 1000s in the 4x8?

Hi everyone. I bought a Budbox XL (2M x 1.2M x 1.2M) and I'm really impressed. The material is strong, and lightproof. The zips are mega tough and seem really good quality. The budbox has metal poles (painted white) and supports my 600W cooltube, carbon filter, and ruck fan without any bend in the support beam. My temps are running in the mid 70s and all seems well.

Check out my grow diary in my sig for more photos. This thread is really helpful for people who are considering buying a tent, cheers to all that contribute :D

One thing, worth getting some mylar? or is it fine leaving the white inside?

I have a question about the hydro-hut's ability to keep out light. This is all in theory, so bear with me here. Let's say I wanted to use a mini for flowering, and have my vegging clones/mothers in the same room as the hut, but out in the open. It goes with outsaying that it's going to be pretty bright. My question is: is the hut able to keep out that kind of light so the dark photoperiod remains uninterrupted? If so, that would be wonderful...and would completely change my plans for the future. Thanks for the help anyone can provide.

I don't think the hut is 100% light proof like a cab. There are small, tiny, leaks here and there. Even when it was fresh out of the box I noticed "pinholes" at random spots. Noting that made me want to return it, just say hmmmmph.

The zipper flap on the bottom doesn't close for me all the way, and I can see HPS light coming OUT. Minimal, but there.

I think I had some herm problems in my first run with the tent because of this. It was in a bedroom/busy area of the house, and a well-lit area.

I since keep it in it's own room now. Actually I have 3 cabs in there now, for clone, veg, and moms, and the mini hut. I taped up the windows with black plastic too.

Since making this move to a darker room I've not had any problems.

The same plant run again showed no herms.

Oh, and I had to velcro shut the air-flaps on the inside of the tent along the 3 walls. Just to be a little more confident I got everything.

So yeah, with a little TLC and some thought into environment it's working great now. I want the 4x4 with a 600 next...

Stretchpup do you use mylar in yours? I've seen pics with mylar inside and am wondering if the white is just fine by itself?

Can you hydrohut growers tell me witch one would most likely pull off 1 pound a grow? Before you all come at me with "depends on the light" depends on the experiance" depends on blah blah blah.... I'll im asking is for a estimate for each hydro hut.. the mini, the regular, and the deluxe

I did use mylar, after running it twice with none. Partly because other members mentioned it's effectiveness, and partly to cover up the existing "velcro'd" flaps on the inside. The white works fine on it's own but it's minimal. Mylar went up easy and it's BRIGHT in there now. I have no doubt some smaller side nugs will benefit from the mylar.

Shit this was at 14 days and I'm around 35 tonight...

A 4x4 with a 1k digital using the SOG method. :joint:

I can look up an old issue of HT tonight to verify, but I think someone was doing elbows in a 3.5 x 3.5 area under a 1k. Or so the article says...

If you were referring to the article by MoRbId, he was pulling 2 lbs :yoinks: from a 3x3' cab with 1k watts(air cooled). :yoinks: He is also running an a/c in there. :chin:

One thing i found with my hydrohut ,and im sure everyone with a tent will Agree , lining them with mylar improves the lighting reflection 200% compared to just the white walls . I've seen a New grow tent on the market , more or less the same as theses except that they are all ready lined with Maylar ..

Here's Mine Now

And before

cobo what did you use to hang the mylar?

Used some silver duct tape on Mylar and and punched a small hole in it (to stop any tears ripping it) and used some string to hang it from roof bars , and some tape to hold lower part to wall .

So its easy to take down and put away if needed
