Hello @moose/MI!
WOW! Thank you so much for your very in depth log grow out with all the updates! I really do appreciate that!
And you lady is looking rather happy!
Please keep us informed on your P. Satellite as the season progresses. I am wondering if you will get the very pink pistils and solid cherry fragrance that come along with the regular Purple satellite ladies.

Hours Later!?
I was going to share a smoke session of my Highland Nepalese Grape x Blue Thai 💙. I was going to share my considerable surprise and joy of a thought that worked beyond expectations.

A male Nepalese Grape crossed to a beautiful Blueberry Thai Skunk female. Basically trimmed each bud to what I prefer, with some sugar leaves left as shock absorbers during the jar cure. I did this while the plant was still in the grow bag until it had consumed the chlorophyll over two months time without any cares.

A blackout system would be very nice for greenhouse curing.. I had forgotten this plant as winter had long set in. When I remembered this female in January. I brought her inside and separated the buds into 1/2 gallon jars for further drying, curing.

I couldn't help but notice the green was diminished to a nostalgic reminder of Acapulco Gold from pictures in High Times Magazine. With a quality that surpasses traditional bag appeal appearances.
With bellowing clouds of Vapor Brothers vaporizer goodness!
Peace farmerlion

@vermontman, the Berry inhale combined with a delicious Menthol exhale is my favorite 8 month cured stash I have.
Exceptional Smoke!

Hello @farmerlion!
Great to see you again, sorry I missed this post and man thank you for your terrific write up and smoke report on your grow experience. Complete with awesome bud shots. And who would'nt love to get some Alcapulco gold or any resemblance of how that terrifically unadulterated cannabis used to be.
So double cheers to you for sharing!!
Thanks buddy!

2.5 month old cute GMG. She seems to like being in this raspberry bush.

Since a few days, she's showing female preflowers. Great, because i don't have enough room for breeding projects.

Edit : i have this smaller one too, topped a few weeks ago by some caterpilar. No sex declared yet.

Hello @Onuma Sativa!
Looks like you are off to a terrific start there for some bushes of Grape goodness. And the caterpillar could not have done a better job of providing you with many more bud sites. Now would be a good time to top the first one, also to get more main bud sites, just about time before the start pushing flowers which on the Green Mountain Grape starts very soon. Just a thought.
Thank you for contributing! And please keep us posted!

First time running green mountain seeds ..
location is upstate NY , southern exposure. I’m in a micro climate in a river valley we get very hot summers and intense sunshine ☀️.
All grown organic in 50 gallon fabric pots in a high quality soil mix. Feeding with compost and worm teas .

Last pic is a batch of jadam microbial solution. This microbial solution is very easy to make I give it to every thing I have going on my property.

Hello @Baphomet!
Firstly your plants are looking showered with love. My strains love the organics and I know they will all do terrific in your climate, but I think the Mountain Gold will really shine with the heat there, she is slightly a longer flowering lady. Thank you for sharing and please keep us posted!
Happy gardening!

During this evening visit to the plants, i've wondered if a topping would be beneficial. I'll probably take your advice, thanks !
And the smells i get from rubbing stems and petioles are already mouthwateringly fruity !

I decided to put the wires back on my Green Mountain Grape this morning.

Trying to redirect the auxins, open her up and create a more globe shape to help break up the more recognizable shape. 🌳 Urban Camo

In my notes Vermontman mentioned July 7th ... for my latitude (42N°) as being around the last time to do any topping on GMG.
Wondering if you would recommend tipping all the ends again at this point?
Or does it look good?

I've got this clone that I made for practise more than having room for it.
But it's looking so nice. Going off the topping/ timing I'm thinking I could up pot it and still get something? 🤔

I've added worms to my 30gal containers of organic living soil this season. 🪱
Raising them myself. They really like the Avocados 🥑.

They're right on the back porch so keeping an eye on the water 💦 is doable.

They're looking healthy and multiplying so I harvested and added another 75 to one of the girls.
My hope is that 30gal is large enough to support them heat wise. 🥵

Morning Everyone! 🌄

I want to run this question again because we're coming up on the day in question.

I'm at 77 days with my 30gal container backporch Green Mountain Grape 🍇

Discretion being important I've been using lst and some supercropping to change/ break up the familiar pattern and to control size.

I've been successful the last 2 seasons with this method using indicas and hybrids. Not sure if it's appropriate for sativas?
It's been over 40 years since I've grown such genetics.
I'm looking to harvest a pound per plant.

All the main branches have been bent over and all the secondary branches have been stretching for apical dominance.

You can see they're all about 10 inches.
Everything looks good to me.
There are 18-22 budsites at the moment.

Looking for any thoughts or advice. Would you come back and fim all the ends of these 1 more time?
Not sure if the bud structure is conducive to this?
Has anyone tried it and wished they hadn't?

Thanks

I was successful cloning the top
off of the Green Mountain Grape.
That was a lot of fun.

Any suggestions about what to expect and how to treat her?
This is my best one yet.
Cloned her on June 6th. Up- potted with xtreme mycos twice.
It's currently sitting in a 7gal of living soil.

Hi Moose, good looking grow

I grew out a pack of GMG (first release) and found a nice purple pheno that I'm running a third time this year, always in 20gal living soil.

The first year I got the seeds going in april, transplanted into 20gal June 01 and topped once when they were around 20" tall. I ended up with a 6.5 foot plant with a 3-4ft wide girth. 15oz harvest

Last year I got clones out late and into the 20gals July 9th, 24" tall. Topped twice and trained more like indoor/table top plants. These plants ended up being 4ft by 4ft, 12oz harvest

They have a big stretch from mid July to August so plan for everything to shoot straight up (2-3x) and then buds show up in the first two weeks of August. Like VM said, I wouldn't touch them much after this week besides cleaning inner leaves for air flow etc.

I have friends growing the same clone in the same soil (some 20gal some 30gal pots). One friend topped a lot and the buds didn't really get fat and the yield was less. I think this is what VM is saying about the stems being thick enough to put out the big buds. The buds can get quite heavy and VM has selected really nice structured plants to support them so I try not to prune them too much. I would suggest putting the plants out later in the season if you want to control the size of them rather than too much topping like you might do with an OG type cultivar (from my personal experience). I've posted every year so you can take a look back in the tread to compare but I've added pics of this years grow to help.

This year I got the plants out in the 20gal early June. I topped the one twice and the other one I only topped once. The one that was topped once will probably yield more and have better buds but in previous years with heavy rain they can get a bit of bud rot where as the topped twice ladies never have any mildew or mold issues at all. I should mention that the green phenos I had were all extremely mold and mildew proof (and stretch more). The greasy purple phenos with a bit of a purple fruity/kushy taste (smell is grape with incense) tend to be a bit more prone to mildew when they don't get all day sun. This purple pheno made incredible dry sift hash last winter (washed/yeilded well too).

Hope this helps..

Here are some pics of a couple of the GMG from the first year (seed plants not clones) to show the stretch/milestones.

Dates of the pics: July 05, Aug 05, Sept 20th 2022 (leaves removed)

Imo you want a few of those long spears, those buds are so beautiful and heavy.
