Hello Hamstring!
First let me say your welcome and
Thank You!
As I just stated it was a much simpler back then and bit more dangerous, but exciting and filled with much more promise.
But yes! stealth was key back then. Hell I planted right in other peoples yards, any place I could tuck in a plant or more.
I think the most ironically cool places I planted a great big patch was right across the street on a ramp onto interstate 93 N right across from the IRS building and just on top of my seven foot burgeoning Oaxacan gold tops was the clear view of the top of the building that handled all Americas income taxes. HAHA!!!
I just wish I had pictures it was quite a site! This was back in 1983. And that year we experienced on of the hottest driest summers so I lugged gallons of water into that sight almost daily. The greatest part of that heatwave was that it ran well into Oct,
where it was in the 80'sF almost to the end of the month, Which was atotal anomily that helped produce some of the reddest/gold sticky potent Oaxacan, in so many years.
But yes this was just 20 minute ride north of Boston.
So yes quite metropolitan.
I used to hit the night club scene in Boston back in the day after mv Fall harvest garnishing a winter jacket, of coarse with many extra large pockets packed with ounces of my home grown Oaxacan Gold stash,
In one instance I was in the alley behind a night club I just supplied a few gents with stash and was in process of smoking just another joint with my buds and a stranger came out back where we were all toking up and he said my bartender friend sent him out back to where we were imbibing and proclaimed I was told I could score herb if I went out back through the back door into the ally way.
I will never forget when that stranger exclaimed. I heard I could score herb if I came out here, he then asked, is it any good!?
We, every one of use just about fell to our knees hanging on to each other, as if that would help! HAHA From this wonderfully potent Mexican, in total incapacitating laughter.
He gladly grabbed a bag and quickly joined in.
So hell yes much more different of world now.
After such a long story!
To answer your query, I was very fortunate to grow up So close to Boston where back in the day multi ton shipments of world famous
cannabis origins from world wide, came in on cargo ships straight into Boston Harbor and Marthas Vineyard.
And when things got to hot in there terms of busts, the crafty smugglers began running shipments into the many islands and ports around Maine.
But yes I was privy to some of the most amazing strains on the planet. Back in the late sixties a friend of mine's older brother came back from service in Vietnam and he had speakers shipped back compliments of the US government, And the only working parts in the speakers was that they were jam packed with Vietnamese gold, My buddy pilfered from his older brother handfuls for all his friends including myself to enjoy.
But hell yes I had available to me some of the best cannabis!
from around the world
Acapulco,Gold, Thai and Buddha sticks a slew of Jamaican Lambsbread or Breath. Columbian Gold and red, Panama red! Man I loved that one it was like reddish little twisted bee hives in a bag. And of course African Black as it as called.
One land mark strain was a Columbian called rainbow, it had gold red and green buds all in one bag, Man that bud would knock you down for hours. I also once scored Columbian red that had fire engine red stems with orange red flowers.
Man I miss those days!
So I just try to grow what reminds me of that time in our history capture it in the quality of my strains and offer it to others to grow and enjoy.
P.S I just had a buddy of mine say, man your Grape is almost to potent and needs to be taken in small doses! HAHA
He has only been smoking for 45 years!

What great stories VM. Much love bud.

I’m going to try and set something up tomorrow. Usually I have a shade house structure around them but I’m building a nice one this year and won’t have the frame in until this weekend.
They should be ok if you bump up the light by then, just maybe a blip but maybe not even and if there is they should respond promply.
Please keep us posted! I have two early flowering Grape clones from last year in the greenhouse and I hung a 12W LED screw in house bulb over them at night.
But yes love to see how yours respond.
OH P.S.
If in doubt you could pinch the tips and that will set them back a week or two from flower.

PURPLE MICHOACAN
Coming along nicely, I am starting to get a really good feeling about these and I may be looking at new purely Mexican Sativa seed release.
if these turn out to be very special.
I will weigh it out as things progress.
Michoacan purp X Oaxacan Gold Purple line.
I also wonder if this purple strain may have any roots in the long lost Torreon Violet Mexican strain seeing Torreon is so close to Michoacan geographically.

I also got a call on return for Mountain Gold
{Oaxacan X Hawaiian Sativa,}
which I am also considering.

Dude, I was stationed in Maine in the mid 80's. Way east though, 45 minutes from Canada. I wish I knew about all the good bud back then. The only thing I saw was home grown that was closer to pencil shavings than weed. Great stories brother keep them coming. I will have too pick up a pack of the Grape too. ----Boston Celtics look pretty good this year!

First 12 out of 12 germ rate-Dude! I am sexing for outdoor transplant.

I have both some Star Killer along withe Purple Satellite pictured here. I up potted in to 1 gal containers of Happy Frog soil on 04/29. I am seeing nute deficiency(yellow striping of leaves) on the PS.

I normally don't have any issues with Happy Frog soil. The Star Killers are not showing any of that.

Its only been 7 days since transplant so wanted to get your advise on adding some 4-4-4 organic nutes to them?

One thing I forgot to mention was because of the stretch of the sativa when I transplanted I buried a couple inches of the stem on the PS. Not sure if that would have anything to with them needing more nutes.(just guessing my first sativa grow)

Hello Hamstring!
Man that is spectacular!!! You are going to have killer garden!
The Purple Satellites are fairly heavy feeders and really rock out given plenty of root room. I believe by you simply up potting should correct themselves quickly. you might want to try a dash of Epson salt {magnesium} which is still considered organic. But could not look better IMHO.

Soil mixed in a bag ... in general are lacking essential nutrients

Think of the more expensive additives Its.... lime, bat guano, perlite, wormcastings

You need @least add the stuff they are light on... ^^

Better yet mix your own!

The Dolomite powdered Lime also works for Cal-mag ....its there for Cal mag more than ph

Organics Thread ...the basic soil mix + add compost /compost teas

These bongaloid mixes and Lc mixs are best thing going

This is Link original organic mixes and practices ....thanks Burn1 !!!

Promix or Sunshine base to work off...

I like this sort of thing because you can start from nothing

What you have there is no big deal....

Thats actually a better problem than nutrient, usually Nitrogen overload

Thats just simple cal-mag and N .....and youre good

The plants can be buried deep ....That's good

Teas are really good:smokeit:

feed them that way you can control what they get very quickly

Awesome H.G.
Between good soil nutrition through ample amendments, and generally good lighting, certainly not to even shadow outdoor gardening, especially, since most of my strains are geared that way.
{ hope we get a real summer this year!}
and of course descent genetics, and throw in a bit of TLC to pump up the THC, HEHE
And we are all very likely to produce some seriously beautiful and very unique cannabis, with it's own vibe, that we help pass onto our ladies, through our culture, nurturing, and our own individual vibes.
Thank you for your input.
Cheers
