Smells like watermelon candy! Freaking amazing, my whole yard smells like this Zac Tribute and the green mountain grape.
There was a short little bit 2 days ago that the clutch smell came back really strong on her, but the flowers continue to just smell like watermelon jolly ranchers, it’s freaking crazy, she smells absolutely nothing like any of the Zac Tribute I’ve grown out previously.

She also didn’t care about our temps. We went over 100 days of temps well above 100°, usually over 110° and never struggled. The GMG and some of my others couldn’t keep up with magnesium due to the transpiration rates in the heat, but the Zac tribute took it like a champ!
She’s still got a little time left to go but is doing fantastic!

Hello @Cactus Squatter!
Its kind of funny I have grown out the same clones of Zacatecas Tribute for a few years now and not sure what has changed but for the first time I got a burnt rubber kind of smell off one of my ladies, but it seemed to be short lived, now she is back to more sweet candy pine? I guess my thought is there are so many influences, it's just amazing to see them come about!
THANK YOU!
For sharing.

Are those F1s? Do you smoke F2 Zacatecas Tribute as well?

Top two pics is the candy pheno ZT, purpling up, kinda fox tailing. Last two is a super chunk ZT. Massive flowers. This one was bending after some rain, she's mostly just a cola. I got her tied up to my Laos Highland that just started flowering!

First, I have to say that I am totally envious of all those monster gardens and picture-perfect plants grown this summer! To be so lucky! Unfortunately I can't grow outside - no sun, nosey neighbors... so I'm been living vicariously the past few weeks gorging on the beautiful plants. A tip of the hat to ya'll!

So, I took some pics Sat of my GM newbies and they don't look like much, but I wanted to get in on the fun and one has to start somewhere, right?

I'm growing some Mountain Gold and Purple Satellite. I've grown both before (indoors) and was very pleased with the results. My MG seeds are nearly 4 years old and PS are 5 ½. I had a little trouble germinating them, so they have different start dates and resulting size diff. First is the MG and then the PS. And yes, the PS on the right has a cousin (long story). Germinated seeds went into the soil between 9/2 - 9/9. As you can see the PS is growing much faster than the MG.

IMG_3302.jpeg IMG_3303.jpeg .

My first PS grow I ran a SCROG. Here's a couple of pics from then. PS was very purple. The plant to the left in the next pic is an ACE Panama. Back when I had patients the PS was very popular, so I didn't get much of it. Looking forward to comparing it to some more recent MG and ZT. Last pic is a MG from my last grow. So yes, Green Mountain Seeds strains can be grown indoors! And, a tip-of-the-hat also to @vermontman for creating these beauties!

I don't know what I was thinking?
Other than I really didn't want to get up on the roof.
I'm old, not as steady as I once was. And I knew the physical pain it would bring. 🤨🫤
Not in the moment. Normally 3 days later, and might hang in there for a couple weeks if I tweaked something.
I've got other fall projects, life, etc.
Then I've got to take it down later.
I started to think I could skip this step so close to the end.

The unbelievable summer we've had in my neck of the woods.
17° degrees above average most days. 100% sunshine. Just 14/100ths of an inch of rain in September. 🙃 Amazing!
So close to the end I started to get complacent.

But having lived here all my life my gut feeling things would go bad wouldn't let me alone. Actually had me pacing the floor. Couldn't shake it.
So with just a hour left to go. And sprinkles starting to come down as I put on the last piece of lath I got a 16' x 16' piece of 4 mil up just in the nick of time. 😃

It rained 🌧 , it's raining again today. It's going to rain some more. 🌧🌧
I think this will be a season defining decision. And I almost didn't make it.

It's a pretty sweet set up. East - West facing South. They're high and dry.
Smells amazing. 🌳
I'll roll them out for sun when I can.
Get a few more days on them.

It's been so hot I think this cooler time will let some of the more volatile terpenes rebuild. 🤔

Thanks moose/MI! I find this is the hardest part of growing. I did not think it was near ready, but I'm not growing pure sativa for a couch lock.
I threw a scope on mine today in several areas and it's all white as snow.
If that helps you at all. I'm at 42.2N

Maybe I'm wrong but Oaxacan and Hawaiian I don't think couch lock is an issue with this strain?
I think it could use some amber - full expression of the plant?

Mine look pretty similar. Two days of pretty good rain just ending. Going to be doing a lot of bud shaking! I guess I was off the mark on the couch lock thing - I do plan to wait for some amber.

Here are some pics from today. I’ve harvested the tops on the one that’s still outdoor. Some weather rolled in this week so I put one in the garage with a light to hedge my bets. Buds are huge on that one and I’ll be sure to get some nice shots before I harvest. The “full body” pic is with one cola left. I got back from vacation and went to work, forgetting to take pictures of the whole plant (Doh!). Glad I remember before I snipped the last top at least.

This is my purple pheno. Made the best dry sift hash last year but the buds smoke fantastically too! So tasty

Hi VM, out of a pack of the GMG I had one really loud smelling green pheno that had a strong burnt rubber smell with lots of lemon and cedar spice notes. The rubber smell changed after a bit of cure to a nice pungent wood funk but it’s still one of the strongest smelling plants I’ve grown. The funny thing is that the smell was very subtle while growing. Just a nice lemon cedar scent. It showed up while drying and when I open a jar even 6 months later it stinks up the place real good. I was meeting buddies ice fishing and my one friend cracked the jar to check it out and sealed it back up. A few hours later we had other friends show up and they said it smelt like a grow room (all seasoned smokers). I love it. I’ve kept that mom and have friends that bug me for clones saying it’s some of the best weed they’ve smoked. Super happy giggly high and It’s also the most mold resistant and pretty much bomb proof.

I had already bought feminized seeds of GMGrape and Purple Satellite when I got pulled in by all the great stories and reviews of Green Mountain Gold. 😃

I broke down and got a pack of MG regs to start playing with.
I hadn't made a seed in over 40 yrs.
Figured I wasn't getting any younger.

While I waited for my Mountain Gold to mature enough I wanted to check my collection methods for viability... it had been so long since I done any of this.

I tagged a branch of my feminized Purple pheno of Green Mountain Grape 🍇 and brushed it with Purple pheno Green Mountain Gold on August 12th.
I peeled it open and peeked yesterday and I have a mature viable looking seed!
