Greedy Phony MJ growers/entrepeneurs

I was just saying this the other day. before I got into the medical community, I was under the impression that everything is for the patient and this was supposed to be to promote healing. I didn't want to go get a card just so I could get awesome pot. well as the years went by, the pot got gross and deals were shadier and then I got the news about my tongue and decided to start growing and get my license. I thought that the collectives are for the patients but it's not, it's for profit. huge profits and while a lot of people maybe got their cards so they could just get awesome pot or edibles or whatever, there are people who are sick, hurt and need this gift from earth.

then I hear all day about how bad big pharm is and how they try to get you to use this drug or that drug when all you need is pot. I feel like the medical community is almost just as bad as big pharm by taking advantage of people who are sick by making massive amounts of money off of them. I had no idea these collective growers were making upwards of 100k per year while some people are struggling to pay medical bills and are nauseous from chemo or they're in pain from arthritis. what even bothers me the most is, a lot of the people who are big do not help out the people who are small or others who are trying to provide for their medical needs. I feel like I have bought into some sham. some growers like stoned trout will help you quite a bit but some just get on here and talk with the other big growers to network and show off or even to just fight. eventually the newbs see this and learn what they need to and I'm seeing a lot of open accounts that haven't posted or even logged on in a long time. when I get confident in growing and don't have as many questions, I'm outta here. this place is worse than living with the parents. well, I might stick around for the few good ones. private message works wonders. that way you can just sit in the back of the class and make fun of the cool kids :friends:

Surely you must be writing letters this long to congress, asking them to legalize. Prices will dip then, maybe.

no actually i go and speak to the judiciary house of legislation. kinda hard to ignore a long line of speakers from the general public. i started my bachelors studying business management but was sick of all this greedy bullshit so i switched from private sector business to nonprofit public sector business because the business is measured by progress; not profit. can't wait to get paid to help others, create programs for people, and do some grant writing for some free money from foundations and other charities all supported by our gracious "customers". obviously though, i shouldn't hit you up for donations right? working in our family business in a market where there is a lot of competition thriving for over fifteen years and winning "best of ___" awards, being on the front page of the business section makes me feel like I'm not just some idealistic young kid.

You know, I was thinking yesterday about how this thread kind of focused on Kendo after he mentioned his consulting business and the price he charges and it occurred to me the discussion that followed was a bit unfair. Why you ask? Well mainly because there wasn't much information to shed light on what his customers get exactly for that $100/ per hour nor was there much to give insight to the quality of his recommendations. To say his fee is too much is rather subjective absent the specifics of what his customers get or anything with which one could judge the quality of his advice. Sure he posted a picture of a nice looking plant but anyone can find and post a picture of a plant and claim it as their own.

So in light of this I thought maybe it would be worthwhile for discussion if I invited Kendo to perhaps expand on what exactly his customers get for his fee and or perhaps ask him to post an example of the advice he gives. Perhaps the most common problem he runs into and how he would advise to fix it?

@HEMPKAT
This conclusion makes me wish I would have been posting here a long time ago. Simply awesome.
It's like I am a newb starting all over again. Nobody knows me, it makes me think from a different perspective and I like it.
What does a consulting firm provide
Consulting firms provide certain expertise in an area in which a company has no/limited expertise.

Lets start with my IT professional skillsets that lend themselves to my success.
Project management certified.
ISO 9002 certified.
A dozen + high level projects successfully completed, ahead of schedule, under budget.

Time management, risk assessment/management, process, procedure, budget, EQ assessment and acquisition, etc
Professional skill sets that transfer into the canna-consult realm quite well.
Top the professional resume with 40 years of canna-growth experience and 20 years of consulting work.
First thing is I sit down with the customer and determine WHERE they want to be. I detail the path to get there. We then determine the resources, time, $$ available to get there. (project management)
Once those details are nailed EQ purchases are made.
With a litany of contacts from AN to Jair Gavita I can get a pretty good markdown on Large EQ acquisitions. For a fee of course.
Customers are given the option to do the installation and heavy lifting, I have a team of skilled pros to assist or do the work.
Once the environment is established the chosen grow setup is installed.
All this is done with the customer so they understand the dynamics and concept.
Whatever method they choose they get VALID info and links to utilize in that endeavor.
Always available on the phone I am very liberal w/ the charged time, although I have had to insist that some paypal a fee because they thought nothing of calling me constantly with questions.
Strain advice/acquisition, marketing strategies/assistance, connections, basic/professional knowledge and experience, risk management, project management. ISO skilled.

Established grows/growers are a different animule and prove to be the MOST difficult.
Generally environmental/disease/pest issues it never ceases to amaze me how tight of a hold they cling to what they did before even though it is not working.
Asking for help and accepting the help given are 2 different things, The dynamic of the established grower is something I have pondered over quite frequently and will write on it someday.
I found some more pics BTW. That pic I posted was of my Preservation Haze named for our dearly departed Preservation Dude. That pic caused quite a stir at OG due to Uncle Ben's assertion that it was 3 plants and not 1.
NDNguys G13hp crossed with a stellar grapefruit haze female she has turned a few heads.
The phenotype pictured was aptly named Lobster stalk by nogoodnamesleft and was responsible for MANY episodes of PARANOIAC induced breakdowns, one such that sent an OG veterano vato to the ER, where he was fed milk and cookies.
Here are a couple of more shots that I found under the rug.
#1 1 leaf reveg and support #2 Supercropped at the node #3 yep, 1 plant #4 Pink Pistils and frosty.

i own the domain cannabisconsultants.com. I bought a few domains with the intention of developing one and selling the rest to the highes...

To the party with the highest bid.

Someone's going to seize opportunity to profit if it exists. Might as well be someone I like.
Just let me take a dab and have a bowl of cereal first before so I can - wait...what was I gonna do?

I know the pump and dump types. They might get rich but they have no passion. One day its going to hit them- that they worked their entire lives to be the richest guy in the cemetery.

@Hempkat. Well raised point. Myself, I was refering to consultants in general, not Kendo specifically.

@Kendo. Hah, have you written that post or similar before? Had the craziest deja vu while reading it.

Well that certainly sounds like the customer is getting quite a bit for their $100 per hour but all in all it sounds more like something for a big time grower then a grow for themselves type grower. I guess the fairness of it boils down to how many hours does the typical client get billed for and whether or not you drag things out to get more hours. If I was someone with money but little to no experience looking to try to cash in on the emerging markets in the US I think I would be interested in your services. If I were a typical medical marijuana patient looking to grow my own though I'd be interested but decide to pass because it would be too expensive. I say that because if someone was looking to grow their own and willing to pay someone $100 per hour to show them how then they'd likely be able to afford to just buy it from the pot stores or dispensaries. I figure the vast majority deciding to grow their own are doing so because they can't really afford the retail price.

As for the bit about the established growers, well I'm not surprised. Allot of us have developed our beliefs on how to thru lots of trial and error and we tend to think we've discovered some super secret method when we get a few good harvests. Se we decide to hold onto certain practices. I think a big part of the problem for an established grower who starts loosing yield is they're more inclined to think something they maybe cut corners on in the bad grow was the problem and never consider it was some change to their methodology in the previous good grows that made them good. So perhaps they end up changing something they maybe should have left alone and then once down that path a ways they find it hard to isolate the problems. Which leads to another thing I bet is a big factor and that is a lack of record keeping. It's much easier to solve problems when you can look at a record of what you've done and compare that to when things started to go south. I typically advise new growers to get a big calendar and hang it somewhere near their grow area and jot down when they water, what, when and how much they feed their plants, etc.

Really!?
Definitely a "C'MON MAN!" moment. This is the BLUFF and Bluster I was referring to earlier. Create a thread that calls into question the morals of persons who operate ganja businesses, doing so on the backs of the, "mistreated patients" and be exposed as one who intentionally mistreats patients
I doubt you are as repulsed as we are at your admission that you enjoy hurting medical patients.
Its been established that I am neither greedy nor phony, while you on the other hand have. Strange how things work out that way when the truth comes out.

To be fair

To be fair

I posted in this thread to highlight that there are consultants with solid reputations, legitimate credentials providing a valuable service to those who need it.
Realistically greed is a relative thing, I could charge $.01 per hr and still be greedy to someone who has relinquished all things material.
Posted in good faith and with common courtesy highlighting the inconsistencies returned angry rebuke. That is to be expected as common practice when one's logic and conclusions are shown to be unsubstantiated.
Are there greedy Phony ganjapreneurs? Of course there are! Cleaned up quite a few messes left by them. But realistically that encompasses all areas of business, greed and lies will always be present.

just because you're being more vocal about it by posting your point about legal commercial grows over and over again despite the thread talking about medical commercial growers ethics does not mean that you've "won" this thread like you're acting. many people reading this have sent me messages of support as most people don't want to voice their opinions on here. DATs gotten some messages of support as well. we have both made many new friendships because of this thread as like minded people are attracted to each other.

@DAT this thread was awesome! it shouldn't be deleted. don't look it as them being what they are. this ruffled feathers, this made people think! don't let these big bossy assholes get you down! the good people are quieter, watchful, and many more than you think! plus, why would it bother you if kendo and resin don't like you? :biglaugh:

we've even tried to explain to you the difference between ego and confidence which went right over your head and now you're just :beat-dead:

despite this thread being viewed as a gripe thread which in all honesty, someone who's being taken advantage of should have all rights to voice their frustration and try to address the situation to make their world a better place. then all of you try to beat her down!? shame on you! if you think your such the big winner, then why are you trying to rub it in her face? be the bigger boy if that's what you think you are.

@Mikell thanks for posting the thread with the list of the most influential business people in canna history. it points out public sector business organizations, activists, and people that have spoken out against popular opinion in favor of medical and legalization are the entire reason that we are even smoking more publicly than before! if it wasn't for these little people who have gotten angry and frustrated and were passionate about cannabis have literally paved the way for future business endeavors. I also appreciate that they knew to separate the public and private business arenas because they work differently and each one succeeds in a different goal.

and for the final last fucking time: I don't give a rat's ass about you making money off of business men who are in it for profits in the legal arenas. that is what private business does. people either are misers with their money in that area or they give graciously and are looked on in favor like Bill Gates who give back. public business is not working for free unless you want to volunteer. everyone gets a good wage that is fair and your success is measured on how well you can help others, make money go farther by budgeting, and if you have a successful grant writer to find you the free money from foundations who ironically are entirely funded most times by wealthy families in the private sector.

if you want to be the rich asshole who fights for his rights to not give back to the community and only take, then go for it. I wanted this thread to inspire people to give to others less fortunate. thought it would go along with the holiday spirit of Thanksgiving....weird.

S

SPG.

there is a breed of Marijuana entrepreneur's that are thriving these dayz.. human turds that completely disgust me. im curious how many of you have had the pleasure of meeting these kinda jerks as well. or am I just the lucky one?

I have met several of these pieces of shit... and ....man are they phony fuckin assholes......

They have these commonalities.

1. The are the mj business strickly for the money.. greedy fuckers.
2. The say they smoke the ganja but do not at all... lying fuckers.

3. They pretend they are doing a service for the sick but don't give a rats ass.

4.They have massive EGOs and think they are hot shit.

LoL. times was so much cooler when pot was illegal. I used to have this really sweet spiritual vibe and connection with people that got high for the love of the high , the simplicity of it all and good times .. but I feel so far removed from those days now. Do you know what I mean?
