yeah, you gotta give it to Pac and Biggie. Pac's got some good albums like 2Pacalypse Now and All Eyez On Me.

Biggie had some good albums too...Ready to Die, Life After Death, and Born Again.

I remember when I graduated High School I bought all Pac and Biggie's albums..then proceeded to smoke many blunts listening to them in my car with friends..good times, good times.

Can i chime in against the use of the word WIGGER......use of a phrase to describe white kids who take on aspects of black urban culture (vocab, musical preference and clothing) or act 'black' is ignorant shit.......... just as it would be wrong to say a black person being well spoken, educated and whos listens to classical music is acting white....making the same comments about white kids taking on aspects of urban culture is just as bad.......we as humans are products of our surroundings with youth culture in this day being so massively influenced by hip hop/rap etc etc hip hop it is bound to have an effect on people, music in general is far from a black or a white thing it is a culture that stretches far beyond the reaches of race.............as much as i realise no malice is meant by your comments it is a something that really niggles me.
Peace

Are we talking Rap or Hip Hop? You guys forgot some important ones.
Hahahaha.

If you mean Hip Hop then I like :

Abstract Rude, Grouch, Aceyalone, Dan the Automator, Atmosphere, Moka, Hi Tek, Tribe Called Quest etc. for the lyrics/intelligent music.

Now if you want to get into Rap, the most influential to me were:

RUN DMC, Two Live Crew, NWA (Dre, Easy, Ice Cube),Public Enemy, Outkast, Snoop, Nate Dog, Exhibit, Three Six Mafia (Big Tymers, BG, Juvenile, etc), Biggie,Tupac, Bone, Eminem, Outkast, Dj Quick, Necro, Mac 10, RBL (Left the mortuary number on his pager), Jay Z, DMX, Ja Rule hahah, Wu Tang, Little Kim, Ludacris, 50 whatever...

Everyone needs to check out a song called 'You never know' by Immortal Technique, this guy is quite simply amazing.....his 2 albums are 2 of the best albums of any genre i have heard (vol.2 is the better). If you like conscience lyrics with amazing beats then check him out.
Peace

Not sure this is the best, but it's definitely a classic...

Dr. Octagon - Dr. Octagonecologist

It's probably my favorite. But there are many other greats...

Dont know how this one slipped through the cracks. This has never left my CD player.

I think Digable Planets is Way Up there on my list. Along with Gangstarr.

The single greatest rap album and quite possibly my all time favorite album period...The album everyone should own regardless of whether or not they like rap...The one album I have worn out multiple copies of and listened to more than all other albums combined... drum roll...

Dr Octagon: Dr. Octagonecologyst

Dan The Automater and Kool Keith...it simply doesn't get any cooler than this, my friends. If you have never heard this album go get it today, roll up a fatty, put on some headphones and listen like someone is telling you the secrets of the universe. You can thank me later.

Back me up on this Feelgood!

Other contenders are:
UGK: Ridin' Dirty
Kool Keith: Sex Style
Buck 65: Man Overboard
Public Enemy: Fear of a Black Planet

"I'm Strictly Monster with Turtle necks like Frankenstein..."

Hell yeah! Someone else feels me on here. Danny K hit the nail on the head. Everyone should own that album. In fact, I love listening to it before I go to the hospital...literally. Is Blue Flowers sometimes on mental repeat while I'm there? Yep. Demented? Probably. But I gotta keep the germs off tha turf.

Too bad they didn't make more music together. But I hear they didn't get along too well. Oh well.

Fear of a Black Planet and Sex Style are classics, too. Great stuff.

Anyone need a rectal rebuilding? Relocated saliva glands? Moose bumps? Just call 1-800-PP51-DOO-DOO. I'm in your corner. :sasmokin:

I'm not just a doctor. I'm a man.

"Your panties are wet. Take it easy, don't sweat. You want some birth control you can smoke a cigarette. Relax, sit back, your buns feel good to smack. You think your pregnant your test shows negative..."

Kool Keith is a freakin' genius...Half-shark-alligator-half-man.
Half man, half shark!

I've turned on people to that album who don't even like rap! It is a masterpiece.

Lyric's Born is also pretty cool. Haven't seen him mentioned yet.

Now my helmet’s on, you can’t tell me I’m not in space...
