ok , all the talk is of bx's or s1's. this talk about f2's since I have a original gg male. whats the likely hood of finding equal type plants by pollinating gg4 with my gg male??

Am I understanding this correctly ?,,You have a male from the same seed batch as the GG4

leave the glue alone, lol
you get something thats great and you want to cross it
you guys crack me up
leave the bitch alone
peace
ez

I dig where your coming from azez but at the same time if people didn't work with Chem , ecsd, sour dub, choc trip, we wouldn't even have the GG, so I m all for her being bred every which way imaginable

nothing will change the clone only gg#4 that's a fact. what others and myself are doing is making other crosses using the gg#4. that's what we do. I find a super elite then cross her with what I what. that will never effect the original glue.

The likelihood is unknown because the males recombination ability is untested.

You should reverse the male to evaluate his quality, then you can make assumptions on what will happen once you combine his traits.

Just a side note, the S1 generation is the same as the F2 in terms of genetic concentration.

One way to evaluate the homozygous traits of a female are to compare female A pollinated by lines 1 2 and 3 growing out A1 , A2 , and A3 and evaluating the traits that come through from the female side when combined with dissimilar genetics.

in other words you don't want to use lines that are in glue already because they will offset showing what traits glue fixes because the genetics are also on the her female side even if they're back on the tree like a father to the mother line ( sour d in chocolate diesel and sour dub) or a sibling line to the female ( like tres sister ) you need to use lines like haze, blueberry etc as out crosses because their combination potential is well documented. We all know what a blueberry dom or haze dom plant is, so seeing how the glue traits play in to those lines will show you what the glue is homozygous for.

This is the slow and painstaking way. To get on the fast track, make S1s, grow a big pool of them, like 500..find the most glue or better than glue but glue like and self that to make s2 (this means reverse your s1 and pollinate a clone of itself, not cross to Glue clone x s1)

Once you evaluate the male for its traits as a female cross the male to the winner S2 picked from 500+ and along the way you can cross the male to the clone and grow those out and evaluate those so you'll have plenty of glue gene banks to work in to each other to keep it tight but not get inbreeding depression.

The key is making the right 'battle cross' I don't know how else to describe it. The battle cross is when you make the combination of gene banks you have in the right order to get the show winner.

There Are plans to cross GG to OG MANGO HAZE and the other way OGMH X GG#4. I hope this will make other super strains :D

all the gg#4 clones are the same no??? If I make s1 reverse her then pollinate the same plant that made the s1? You would need to do select branch pollination for that. No open pollination? with her and then make s2 the clones used are all from the same mom.

Well this is a funny situation,, most elite clone growers don't have access to full sib males,,cool,,so you have a Y chromosome ready for the future, that will come in handy for you,,awsome,,,

If you have access to more full sib males that would boost you ratios from 1:1 to higher ratio figures,,, above 1:1 is allways a good thing for bio diversity,,

I'd still work on the reversals, but man, full sib mating is interesting

It makes no difference if you use the GG as the pollen doner or the MangoOG,, it's the same outcome imo,,,,i seriously love the sound of this MangoOG btw,,,i bet the MangoOG is more my style than the GG itself,,,the cross sounds like it's gona chunk up the MangoOG and add some sour notes,,,i like the sound of this cross :)

If you can go to S2 you will probably be able to squash the simple-stress-reversal trait,,,

inbreeding coefficient is boosting up at S2 too

yes the OGM is an Elite clone only. She is The Original OG x MNS Mango Haze. I like it just as much as GG#4. She defiantly needs her own thread.

@ englishrick : A x B isn't the same as B x A because lines A and B have different combining ability as well as the individual plants from line A and B's individual qualities and breeding value. You also need to take in to account that genes combine differently depending on which side they come from.

@ PF , To make S1s as I'm sure you know you either use CS , GA , STS to force a sex change on 1 plant then take a clone of the same plant you treated and pollinate it using the sex reversed plant. To make S2 you'd repeat the same process from the keeper from the S1 generation. When making S2s you could also make a feminised back cross using the S1 to the GG#4 clone , Selfing is a very powerful genetic tool to increase breeding value and homogenize a population for desired traits. You can create GG S1 seed population , GG#4 clone x GG#4 S1 , GG#4 S2 , GG#4 x Glue male and very quickly have a tight pool of genetics to mix together to come up with something uniform in a few steps unless Mother Nature gives you the finger, this is why it is important to keep the ones you think are keepers as well as a large population to go back to in case one step doesn't quite work out as planned.

I understand making crosses for fun too but since time, space, and effort is so valuable I am trying to do it right when I get in to it

Thanks again to everyone who was able to bring this strain to the table a few pics of my babies of the gg#4 I got last weekend more pics to come.

Oh yea the flower is the gg#4 I got that from the cup also thanks its is super tasty im gettin real tired of the all the watered down ogs. The gg#4 is a great one to mix up some new goodness!

There is enough tree for every one. Bless

Being that u have a male GG I think F2s R in order. then mabe bx,or f3 if u get another male ?
just my 2 cents.

I have found more special plants in s1 then any other line. From what others I have spoken to they see the same. What does that tell us. When we make s1 does this jump ahead 2 spaces( faster getting to where yo want to be?) I keep all s1 seeds I find. So far none have been crap.

a lot of breader R keeping s1 of there old lines.

We had this discussion a while back but I believe, in plants the female comes first, as opposed to the animal world. So a + b would be , a is the female and b the pollen donor, whether natural or forced..... I think :)

Sorry if my last post was short, I'm cooking for an elderly woman :),,sausage and mash

Hmmm, this is when I need Tom and good old kopite back , I can't remember how to reference this,,,I'm sure I've thrashed this one out before and the conclusion was it's the same cross,,
