There are ways to automate your system. If you do it right you can set it up to be gone for a week no problem. All it takes is $$$$$$ and some trial and error. once it is dialed in your set.

damn we posted at the same time

I know all about automated systems, but still 2 eyes and all that are still a BIG plus, automated doesn't mean perfect, breakers flip, plants fall over some times, there are actually a ton of things that can happen on an automated system. Nothing is more reliable than someone who knows what they are doing watching your house. Train your closest friends, they all love free herb and food and beer in the fridge.

exactly why i haven't tried the GO line or any organics really for that matter . i just can't hand feed every day .

" or any organics really for that matter " ok let me clarify .... bottled organic nutes .

20 little gg's stuck in cups of coco waitin on roots :)

gonna flower out 4 of them . use 2 of them for moms & the rest will be passed on to other growers :)

A complete soil only needs water to thrive... pure water with no additives runs very smoothly through blumats or drip lines AFAIK, i would assume better than any nute mixture does... automated organics is totally possible, not very common though..

to each their own though.

well,i dont want to get into the whole soil thing since theres no such thing as actual soil indoors, its just amended planting mix,but the veganics work just fine for me aside from the daily need to be here, but thats a cultural problem that has nothing to do with the method..

every auto system i have had failed at one time or another, from plugged drippers to floods to failed timers, if i really need to get away for a few days i just get a friend to water with just water, that way they cant fuck up and they all get a good flush, also the go line isent that hard for someone to do if needed, i use about 15 gl a day , 10 for flower and 5 for veg, really not that much to mix

I use all automatic for my indoor, but I still check it everyday. Ive had folks who didn't check, came in to find everything crispy one month in flower, waste of time and energy and money.
On another note, just took 20 more gg4 cuts... this time I will be here the whole time to watch um.

There are many that use automation of some kind. if you want to spend the cash you can get a system to work... These systems are not for Organic growers. They get clogged easy. I had a fully automated system on my reef tank. It would measure most of the stuff I needed. Salinity,ca,ph,light's on/off, moon cycles, wave simulation, random currents. It had dosing pumps to add whatever you wanted.. It did more I dont remember all of it. It was 1200$..

You could make up your medium to be water only ther are some here that do this. All you would need is a automated pump for your water

my system is automated,i automatically know i need to be here every day...
those just add water mixes i would probably drop 30-40% in yield...
as i have said, going to bigger pots...bigger pots = less frequent watering...
trying roots707 on a plant now, only needing watering every 3-4 days, still using nutes with every watering though..

Thats kinda why i'm using hempy buckets during the summer heat . each bucket has its own 2" rez at the bottom & as long as i'm filling it every day with my drippers ... it never dries out on me . a helluva lot easier than feeding 4 or 5 times during the light cycle to maintain the moisture .

i may have to find some 40 gallon plastic pots someplace or go to totes for the plants, the plastic pots dont dry out anywhere near as fast, still havent tries the roots707 in the large smart pots yet, have a 15 and 20 on hand...

went to the spot today to water and wanted to rotate the 16 GG i have in flower. HA! easier said than done. these bitches grew together into one big gluey hot mess. i had to un-weave branches that grew into other plants and man did they have the gorilla grip going on. think it is about time i bought a trellis.

you gonna get 7 full weeks of veg and 9 full weeks of flower on amended soil?

there is a big difference in organics and using salts, it's called yield

the products not labeled organic go through a pretty complete regulation process, sadly organics do not, who knows what you are using, at least there are standards that have to be met in inorganic.

a combo of the both works best anyways

this is not the place to argue organics vs chems. But all I have to say is there have been countless hydro companies that had products taken off shelves because they lied about their ingredients and when tested there was shit that was not supposed to be in there.
Also I prefer to let my plants decide what to eat, kinda like myself, I do not enjoy being force fed no matter what it is. This is what hydro/inorganic growing is, force feeding the plants. Like I said, not the place to argue about this. But my logic is just to make the cleanest herbs possible. Especially if you are providing for medical patients... I will admit I am not, but I still want the cleanest herbs. Not hating on your methods, they obviously work. I was just making a suggestions for a way to create an automated system... pure water through as unclefishstick would say a well ammended "planting mix" is about as easy to automate as possible... no mixing new batchs of nutes of anything, no real chance for the lines to clog or anything. This wasn't an arguement saying organics is better. It was a suggestion for an automated system...

Either way the part the most folks don't realize, is you can't just load up a pile of dirt with a shit load of ammendments and expect it to grow killer plants. Just like you can't throw a million different chems in a rez and think it won't burn the fuck outta the plants.

To each their own.
