How often do they get a plain water drench? Or is the ec tweaked so perfectly dialed you can just water every once and a while?

you never give coco a plain water drench !!!! it throws off the balance of cations in the coco ! PH has to be reset the EC has to be brought back up Calmag needs to be readded etc ......

the only time coco gets plain water feeds is at the end 2 weeks to flush out all the nutes in the pots so that the plants start to feed off the reserves in themselves , so that your smoking clean nute free bud .

now if your talking a weekly flush of low dose nutes to flush out an excsess nute build up ..... i don't do that on a normal run . i feed low enough & get plenty of runoff daily that i don't need to flush unless i fucked something up , like overdosing the rez or something stupid .

But ....... now that summers here & i'm gone to camp for 4 or 5 days at a clip . i'll dial back the feed times a little so that i get no runoff while i'm gone . but the minute i get back ... i'll flush them out alot & the suck it out right away to get all that build up gone that accumulated while i was gone . then reset the timers to feed like i normally do ..... to runoff .

Do you do that to keep the reservoirs from running low while you're gone?

What feed timer do you use. The one I have uses a dial and the duration I need is way over on one end. A slight nudge one way or the other can double or half the times I want by half. I want to find reliable digital one so if you know of any, I'm all eyes

No Dan uses a shop vac to suck the runoff off the trays, if he didn't cut it back the plants would be floating...... I'm pretty sure he uses a mist king timer for lizard misting.... On his pump's...

If you are in the market for a digital recycle timer try the Blueprint Digital Cycle Timer BDCT-1. It's what I use and I can't ask for anything more. It fires a 1000GPM pump no problem and has by the second accuracy. They can be pricy but I found the ones I use new on eBay for $50 each with free shipping.

That's a great price. I did a quick search and best I found so far was $75.

Battery powered so one less cord.

how long does the lithium battery last you? will it get you through a full flower cycle, veg and flower? or do you just change them out on a schedule?

The battery is just for memory purposes the timer itself plugs into the wall like any other and the device you want to cycle is plugged into the timer.

I forgot about that issue of needing to suck out the trays. So, no vacuuming for 5 days? That's pretty dialed in to keep the runoff just right and not lead to a big shallow pond in there.

A lizard misting timer, how in the heck did you come across that Dan?
