I had broads once in my veg area years ago. Tops looked all distorted and twisted. Growth was miniaturized and yellow. Got a 100x scope and I could see em on the undersides of the leaves. I don't advocate using harsh chemicals to anyone else but I use them if I absolutely have to. I tried just about every natural pesticide that was recommended in the broad mite thread here and none of them worked. I couldn't afford to shut down so I tried avid. Sprayed em 4 times 3 days apart. Foliar with diluted aspirin and aspirin in the rez. Plants resumed normal looking growth after a week. Havent had em since.

Star, I've been burned by purchasing a couple of crappy hand held microscopes off Amazon. What magnification loupe did you use? Got a link to it?

Thx, Ona

I would root new cuts of every strain you have, Once you have one healthy rooted clone of every strain, Cut all the rest of your plants down, Remove all old soil and clean all the containers.

Take the new rooted cuttings and buy some avid or other strong chem, and use it to do some dunks with the fresh rooted clones. After dunking and insuring all of them are pest free, you keep them isolated while you prep the grow spaces. I usually dunk them completely submerged for 30 seconds, and then use a sink sprayer to pressure wash them and put them into a new clean dome and isolate them until the rest of the grow is cleaned and prepped for fresh batch of babies.

Buy a product called sterifab and use it to wipe the walls, ceilings, floors, and all equipment down, Sterifab is a 1 and done product it's a Bactericide, Sanitizer, Fungicide, Mildewcide, and pesticide all in one. There is no better product available to clean a grow space. It kills everything on contact and leaves no residuals. Once its dried its worthless but properly clean a grow space with it and there will be nothing left alive.

Once you have a clean grow space and new cuts all clean and pest free, go and purchase new soils and amendments and get back to work.

This stuff works better than avid or forbid. I mean it kills regular mites within a couple days and their eggs don't hatch. I've never had broads or russet but they say it will kill those in one application as well. It is also not really toxic the way these others are. Smells like fireball whiskey.

I'm thinking Fireball would be a pretty lethal miticide. No comment on how the plants would do though

Do you know what's in it?

I couldn't find a link to the MSDS anywhere on that site.

I think the main ingredient is cinnamon oil. I don't know where I heard about it but I had a nagging mite problem and I tried this stuff and it actually works. There is a contact link on that site with a phone #. I'm sure they would explain more. All I know is that it works. I just checked it out and it says abamectin. .0012% , other ingredients 99.9988%

seems like works better than avid - because it is avid
LOL

Why should you use WIPE OUT?

Zero harmful chemicals | Immediate Results | 100% Effective | Non-Toxic | NON-SYSTEMIC

Non-Burning | FRESH AROMA | TRUSTED AND PROVEN | EPA APPROVED IN ALL STATES

I guess you guys are picking on me? It's kind of hard to tell. I'm just trying to help this guy from throwing away his whole collection. It might have the same ingredient as avid but this stuff is way better. You guys must have a lot more $ than me. I only ever had to spray it once well over a year ago. I actually rarely need to spray with anything so when I do I like it when the product works. I'll just go back to lurking now, thanks.
