Golden Tiger

Made a few f2's of this GT Alligator tail thin leaf Thai Pheno, the mom was just godly, LONG hang time.....

I then crossed one of the f2's pictured below with
Poison Mimosa(BRED BY microbe.alchemist on IG)which is Durban Poison
X Clemintine x Purple Punch. That will put a little weight on
These girls with GT already stellar genetics....

GT-2 Vape cartridges

GT-2 Vape cartridges

I hardly ever use my dabbing rig, but still like making BHO. I had some GT clones from last year that I didn't have time to trim, so I pulled them out of my curing cabinet and made BHO, which I dilute with a product called "Wax". Vape cartridges are pretty cheap; I found these 1 ml cartridges on amazon for $2 each. Most cartridges can be reused. Compare to $70 and up for a 1 gram filled vape cartridge from the dispensaries in our area. Just another good reason to love growing.:dance013:

Peace, God bless

Question to those of you who have selected a male for breeding purposes (and Dubi, of course)...

I've got 3 males going; all 3 of them are mostly identical in terms of superficial looks, but one of them didn't start showing balls until close to 2 weeks after the other 2, which showed at the same time. I remember hearing various breeders over the years mention how it's not always best to pick the males that are quick to transition into flowering, because of something about that tendency being closer to feral hemp than medicinal cannabis. I'm fairly certain that this doesn't apply to a pool of only 3 males, lol, but I still wanted to ask if any of you have any insight on any male phenotypes of GT that show their sex significantly later than other phenos.

Thank you. :tiphat:

Best guess is that it’s maybe a little more Thai leaning... I use males with rapid flowering responses and so far my breeding experience has been that faster onset means more explosive/larger flowers... I’m pretty new to pollen chucking though

So, here are my males. Still not sure if I'll collect pollen from one or all of them. Kind of waiting to see if any characteristics jump out at me.

That last one there is the one that one just started showing flowers a few days ago. But it otherwise looks identical to the one in the middle. The one on the left practically looks the same, but it's a little bigger in all dimensions. It's like, same structure but maybe more mass to it. Not sure if that's good, bad, or neither. :dunno:

So, can anyone tell me if there is a cat piss pheno? I selected one of those males above and have had it in a coat closet for the past week. I went in there this morning and was greeted by the smell of cat piss. Basically, I'm trying to find out if my cat actually pissed in there or not.

No, this is not a joke.

This may well be my favorite post of this thread...

Yes. There is. Had a really nice lemony flavour but I didn’t love the smell. Some do.... it was admittedly more enticing when cured as it picked up more sweetness and a touch of lemons. I think it’s a Thai thing but I’m wrong the more oft I speak...

Well, I took everything out of the closet and smelled everything individually... there was no evidence of cat piss anywhere. I then shoved my nose into the plant and took a big whiff... there it is. So, this male GT smells like cat piss.

Now I'm almost afraid to do a stem rub on the two GTs I have in the garden at the moment.

Oddly, those two were germinated on the first of March, so they are now three months and three days old - and they haven't shown sex yet. :chin: Hmmmm . . . .

I wonder if the LST I did may have caused them to slow down showing sex. When the seedlings outgrew my short veg cabinet indoors, I re-potted them, leaned over at 45 degrees from vertical, the way I plan to grow them outdoors. Ileaning them over like that stimulates branch growth, and creates lots of tops, to make the most of the sunshine.

Does anybody have experience with LST'd cannabis that was slow to show sex? I recall reading about another user who had a GT that was very slow showing sex.

There are some GT phenos that do take a very long time to show sex. There have been two times so far that I have planted GT seeds, and both times I thought I had removed all of the males until several weeks later when the stragglers decided to drop their balls. I consistently use LST and aggressive scrogging techniques, and I can assure you that those don't delay the onset of flowering. Not on the Ace genetics I've worked with, anyway.

Just thought I'd show a quick pic of the female, approaching the end of her 6th week of flowering. I'm guessing there's at least another 6 weeks if not more.

Hi everyone,
hope you're all well. The GT's are down, 1st June, the longest running plants I've ever had. The density really came on in the last few weeks, thanks to Yukon for posting vigorously about the plant as it approaches maturity, all my questions were answered by reading through his posts.
The trichs however never reached amber only milky which was something that really intrigued me, it's left me thinking that I'm going to have to place a warning on this one before l give it out!! Perhaps it was the cold nights that prevented this, l don't know but willing to hear all thoughts.
I've left the small one in the ground as it never really performed, we'll see if it overwinters. The small, big stemmed, one did quite well but the popcorn buds didn't really form and the internals of the plant weren't worth worrying about. The buds on the outside of the plant were a different story, dense, no mould and resinous; it was just starting to fade so l got the harvest window just right.
I missed the harvest window for the big plant by, an estimated, two weeks. The plants had been through a bit of rain and this plant was getting a bit of mould. This wasn't a problem because it was isolated to the particular bud it had developed on and could be picked out having no effect to the surrounding flower, exceptional resistance in the three different phenos l had.
The smell of this plant was different and indeed "old school". It took me back to the mid 90's when l was growing a landrace Durban Poison bought here by surfers in the early 70's but that's another story.
It took me a while to pin down the exact smell but after pulling it down my hands smelt like distant geraniums that are in the garden somewhere. After a few days drying they smell like white wine, so the terp profiles are rapidly changing and I'm looking forward to seeing how it progresses over the next few months.
Both smaller plants really didn't have a smell at all, when green. Perhaps that'll change with time.
I'll post the weights up for the statitions out there once they're done.
Cheers everyone, it's been swell but the swelling's gone down.........time for a rest and to get off the mountain......know what l mean,
40.
