Almost two-week span between the two posts ... the top is getting lower and lower putting on weight I reckon...
The trunk is streaked red and so are some petioles. A sweet floral smell hits the nostrils when very close to buds.

First timer with a 100% sativa makes me feel kinda like Oldtoker.. :)

:tiphat:orfeas

P.S. failed to say she's coupla days after 7th week.
If you hadn't have mentioned they were only 7 weeks I would never had guessed, those are some of the nicest 7 week sativa spears I've ever seen! Very, VERY well done! I wish you a bountiful and potent harvest my friend!
Peace, God bless

Hello all,

Everyone has me scared of too much nutes. Got some Marine Cuisine coming for my OD holes. how much should I add? I'll be transplanting ~ 8" plants. The native soil is dark with a decent amount of organic content. I'll be improving structure with 5kg coco and 5lb EWC in each hole, plus water crystals and lime.

Thanks!

Looking kinda sweet brother I think I'm in love ha ha. Doing something right there my friend oh boy they look good from here.

Thanks heaps for the praise, lads!
However, I can't shake off this creeping malaise about the potency of the end product for she looks quite similar to a Thai leaning Zamaldelica I once had, which delivered no punch at all...

Hi everyone,
I'm on a bit of a roll tonight and I've got reception. It's taken me a long time to work out that when my reception drops out the server doesn't recognise me, even though I'm still logged in and everything I've typed gets lost, talk about a lesson in patience!!
What a drama....l couldn't get to the gorilla girls for six weeks due to vehicle misshaps. They relied on water reserves, built up, from previous trips and that wasn't much.
They've gone through at least three weeks of temperatures over 30 deg C, probably more, with no water!!!
I had no expectations going in but to my surprise two out of the four were flourishing. One was six feet tall and kind of Christmas tree shaped and the other was five feet tall and bushy.
The other two were interesting, in that one was short, about four feet tall, with a stem that l couldn't put my hand around and the other was really struggling and dropping leaves, both these plants had no terp profile but the other, bigger, two had a subtle mango, caramel smell that was unlike anything I'd smelt before.
I gave these plants a couple of hundred litres each and the next time l went in, two weeks later, the Christmas tree pheno had stretched one foot and the other had got rounder. They had both developed a distinct carrot smell that I've heard described.
The tall one had thrown a few pistols on my first visit and the little, big stem one ,thew a couple two weeks later on my next trip.
I think the bushy one's a male, but I'm not sure yet.
I can't tell you all how excited l am to be growing a %100 sativa especially given the hardships they've just been through......solid genetics.
Cheers 40

Wow, what a great description; makes me want to see pics. Any chance of getting a few pics next time you make it over to the plants?
Congratulations on their success. I don't know about the Thai end of the GT, but growing both GT and the Malawi last year, I can say they both are pretty resilient and vigorous.

Nature strives for perfection. Assisting Mother Nature through breeding has taken years off of the evolutionary process. Of course, not all breeders are doing that, but Ace has sure mastered it through both their breeding and preservation projects. Can't thank Ace enough, if it weren't for them, we wouldn't be enjoying these awesome strains and genetics.

I know you can't go there very often, but certainly looking forward to more updates.

Peace, God bless

I meant to tell you, I had a male Malawi that I kept in my mother room and trimmed it back in January. I tossed the trimmings onto my compost pile. I rained a lot and last week, I finally cut them down, as the cuttings had rooted and were producing pollen sacs. So yes, I think Ace's Malawi is a very tough plant, definitely survivors!

Thanks Solar!!
It really makes me feel fantastic to be able to talk about my experiences with the plants and l particularly love the warmth and feeling of belonging to something bigger in this wonderful Ace thread!!
Where l am it's impossible to share information and talk openly about the benifits this beautiful plant has to offer for fear of incarceration. There's also been years of educated ignorance in the majority of the population, who could really benefit from the healing powers of the plant.
The police here are paying informants for a conviction and it's a terrible situation. So much for things changing!!
Although they are focusing on hard drugs some of my friends have been caught and become collateral damage in the war on meth.
There's nothing l would like more than to be able to post pictures but l really don't know how to do it so I'm %110 safe; perhaps someone else can help me there??
I have taken photos and videos for Dubi and the Ace crew, and l intend to send that when everything's done. Perhaps Dubi might edit my posts later on and put some photos up for everyone to enjoy and get a better idea of what I've been on about.
I hope you're family is feeling better about the death of your father and things are looking brighter. You're post was one of the most heartfelt and significantly beautiful examples of just how the plant can, not only improve but also bring a quality of life that otherwise would be void and unavailable.
I've really been enjoying watching everyone getting excited about the coming season and I've been trying to get excited about harvest......so far so good.
Cheers 40

Thank you for your kind words and condolences, it means a lot to me, especially that there are so many kind and awesome people on here. Sorry to hear about your government's ignorance. It may be best if you not post photos or have to visit the grow very often. Be careful, it's not worth it. Stick to some basic rule, a lot of info on guerilla growing, but I'm sure you have everything well covered. Be safe and looking forward to your harvest.
Peace, God bless

Hey F2F,
I was quite concerned about the soil l put together for the GT's this year also. It was a mix designed for heavy feeding indicas and I've described what went into it a few pages back.
Although l have no experience with these genetics yet, l don't believe the mix has had any detrimental effect on vegetative growth.
Hope this bit of info helps.
Cheers 40

Thanks for the info there 40deg. That's reassuring. Last thing I want is to burn up plants I already got a month into.

Im also going to have some time for everything to cook in and settle down by the time I plant.

Cheers,

Cool F2F,!
from my research I'd be careful of the "lime" that I'd include in your soil. Gypsum will add a little bit of calcium without PH imbalance.
The perfect soil, in my opinion, runs at 6.5 ph.
Cheers 40

You e piqued my interest 40.

Honestly I never measured soil pH for my OD holes, just limed and went with it. If anything I would go a little heavy thinking its one of those things you can go over some and not be hurting things.

Ive always used the big box store "fast acting" variety for lawns, real fine granules. Sounds like you've had things go wonky on ya with some kinds?

Thx. F2F.

running into 10th week my tigress has gone idle mode with the first brown pistils making their appearance here and there...subtle distinct mango aroma such a delight to the nostrils...but again only when close...
this waiting leg seems to be the hardest one for there isn't much of a development to see and hence the following question to the GT knowledgeable blokes out there: How long has the shortest flowering pheno gone?

I’m no golden tiger expert, having found a keeper with first seed that was female, original F1stock.
Eleven weeks is nice but I prefer the end product when picked at ten weeks, this is under 11/13 cyclewith 600w metal halide.
At nine weeks it has looked ready but I waited, next run will be sampled at nine weeks.
When in doubt whack a lower branch to sample, these early samples are usually my favorite smoke.

I've seen her go to sleep for most of a week then push more for another week or ten days... look for all the calyxes to swell up and Amber trichs.... Anytime after ten weeks is usually good but letting them ripen till the bitter end gives more weight to the yield and the effect in my opinion..

This was Malawi dominant and optimum cut was around 12 to 12.5 weeks... I believe this pic was at around week 11.. it stalled except a few hairs here and there for weeks 11 thru 12 but resins just kept pumping up so I just kept leaving her.. eventually a power outage froze her causing me to cut a few days early but that's another story...
In my experience GT takes a bit of time while hairs wither and calyxes and resins swell. Not like say Zam which can "flash" ripen in like four five days sometimes.

Edit: didn't even really answer you... there's a ten week pheno that I believe carries rotten garbage terpenes iirc. Aside from that usually twelve to 14 weeks is more common I think. You said subtle mango for smell which leads me towards Malawi and probably a 12 week rather than 14 week finish.. just a guess really though...

whacking one for a "lab test" is what I always do and most attempts are telltale... them sats can be pretty treacherous though since some unveil their quality much later after long curing...
By the way, she's illuminated by 600W HPS plus 315W CDM...

Oye Yukon, I hear you on the withering and swelling bit, mate! It's coming on alright yet so tantalisingly slow :)
By the looks of it, I reckon she'll take at least two good weeks...
you say Malawi leaning, them long pistils remind me of Thai phenos...but then it's just a guess since I haven't seen that many individuals... :)
Anyhow, here are some close ups so you guys can get a better picture of the dame.

Ooooo that looks freakin goood... I can't wait for a smoke report! Two weeks sounds about right... maybe more. Yours probably is more Thai than my last one was as I definitely think mine was more ripe at this stage. Post 1572 in this thread shows my Malawi dom at ten weeks. Judging by that yours could maybe go 14? I dunno... I like mine pretty Amber. I thought mango smell was a Malawi trait but I guess that don't mean much to flowering time!

I have 2 GT that I just flipped a few days ago I hope I get a little more Thai in my next selection... probably going to make seed w/2 I have regardless of sex... I can't help pollen chucking now!

Man you guys crush it! Nice plants.

The golden tigers and some, not all, of her offspring do the flowering pause and renegize and restart new calyx production thing. I have only ever bred with a gen 1 male tho. Ive grown a small population from three generations of golden tiger and that is a uniform trait. I have found that by letting some individuals go past what you think may be "ripe" you can discover she wants to continue bud formation and starts up with a new burst of calyx and pistil.

From my experience, this adds dimensions to the effects. You get part of the bud that is new new new with a thc profile closer to like an unripe plant and buds with older more mature complete thc profile. Its a very profound broad spectrum experience in golden tiger. That for me was something i found really cool, you can add like a layer or edge to the effect by harvesting right after a new spurt of growth, or while she is paused before a spurt of growth, and totally change the consumption experience. That is so fucking cool and unique. It can change from plant individual to individual. There is a lot to look at for me still, many beans and crosses to comb through. I have my favorites, and GT is one. For people searching for sativa/nld/tropical cannabis i can recomend gt always with only one caveat: it can ve very strong cannabis in one effect or another. Thats a little of my experience.

think orfeas your girl looks like a nice hybrid type. Not wispy like some of the thai girls, good resin like malawi girls. Iunno, dubi might have a different opinion.

Great plants all around, thank you all for sharing. I really wnjoy reading peoples experience with her. Everytime i share this plant with people its a unique experience for consumption. For me thats true for growing. Hard to make her perfectly happy, but its worth the effort to try. Shes a cool girl.

Much love
