Thank you so much Dubi. Excellent feedback man.

I have an old friend who visited yesterday and he and I were buddies back in the day smoking lots of Thai stick. It was quite available in Southern Cal in the 70s. We are both mesmerized by this plant. It is quite awesome. She is just about to flower.

Respect!

Smoke report updated.
I harvested with 30% of the amber trichomes 2 months of cure.
I went to smoke muito Golden Tiger with an old friend. But I did not know how strong is after cure.
After smoke half joint my heart was extremely fast, my mouth and eyes extremely dry. I was trembling a lot, I had to down on the bed while trying to calm myself, the music seemed different. i smoke 9 a.m. I lay down until 11 a.m. The effect persisted throughout the day and was wearing off at night.
This herb is really overpowering.

Hi Pédetoddy,

We don't lie when writing our strain descriptions and when we say must be careful when smoking Malawi and her stronger hybrids like Golden Tiger  When they are properly grown outdoors and after a good curing their effects can be devastating, make you trip, faint and will last many many hours, changing completely your day .... especially if you don't have a very high tolerance with strong sativas of this kind.

Glad the GT you have grown met or surpassed your expectations regarding potency. Hope you can get a bit used to her so you can enjoy her in a more moderate way, maybe consider to smoke lesser until you are more used to her strength.

Vaporbud, spectacular looking Monster girl you have there, harvest time can't come soon enough I'm sure...

Thanks for sharing the smoke report Pedetoddy , sounds like Fly me to the moon material..!!

Here's two GT girls One big one small to medium in same 13 gal container(largest container I had available)..n and out of stealth mode limited sun..

Here's another GT FEMALE..

They are looking lovely ThermalRider :)

They were initially more Malawi structured, but now close to flowering both are showing more Thai influence, thinner and more flexible stems and thinner leaves as well.

I would recommend you to transplant them to bigger pots now or when they start the flowering if you have the chance... they will reward you with a healthier flowering, a much bigger yield and with more powerful flowers which will have evil potency after proper curing.

Thank you Dubi and All at Ace Seeds for another gem.

Great ULMW, friend :tiphat:

Congrats for the harvest! Really nice colas and flowers. I think she would be able to produce more resins and potency with lesser nitrogen and colder temps during the flowering, yet the results look very nice!
Those hairy buds have really strong Thai influence in the finished product. You already have experienced pure Malawi and Zamaldelica so looking forward to hear your opinion about Golden Tiger after a good curing. Best wishes to you and your family :huggg:

Update 8 25
All is well here. Still waiting for flowering to begin with this girl. I have had a good season so far with very few issues. We had thrips which were wiped out with spinosad a month ago. I have yet to see any bud worms. I have seen very few white moths this year so I'm keeping my fingers crossed in that regard. Here is a new picture:

Any chance of pheno insight on this one? I think it's a little Thai Dom with OKM but I'm guessing based on her long flowering time (13+ weeks) and lemon/herbal flavour.... almost catpissy aroma in cure and the OKM I'm guessing would be what gives her the bulky buds and flower structure that looks like Malawi pics seen on icmag.. also gigantic trichomes.
Spacey trippy high that hits hard and then again about 4.2 minutes later when it REALLY wails on you. Energetic smiley laughing kind of stone with a lot of "whoooaa I'm fried" moments. Lasts 4 hours plus and no such thing as tolerance buildup with it. It might have a ceiling but you're too high to tell when you find it I bet.
Will have better flower pics in a few more weeks

Thinking about femming above tiger to a (I think?) sativa dominant Kali China that I have... there's a species of tiger called the Corbetti or Corbetta tiger that used to live in Yunnan and is presently in Thailand Myanmar and other neighbouring countries. Considering this regions proximity to a corner of India (where Kali must originates I think) it feels like Corbetta would be a fitting name for said cross... lol now I just have to find space (and time) to create it! So many pollen chucks so little resources...

i understand needing a cure, but dont u find that it losses some potency after some months???

in my mind (the very little thats left) , when i smoke fresh herb , cured for a short time (3-4 weeks) it seems to be stonger, get me higher..

In my experience, one could easily cure for six months and see improvements month after month.

GT is supposed to age extremely well in curing, but 12 months is quite the wait.

I find with longer flowering sativa, especially ones that seem like they can permanently flower and shoot new buds well into the last weeks or even days of flower, a long cure does a lot. It seems to me that yes, some cannabanoids seem to degrade, but this degradation adds dimensions to the cannabinoid profile that clearly weren't there early in the initial dried product.

I have seen that in the NLD types, like thaihybrids (like gt) or very long haze. In indicas the long cure doesnt add much but sleepiness, I think thc is gradually breaking down into cbn. With the nld/sativas I wonder if it's more interesting cannabanoids than just cbn?

That's a theory based in a very rudamentary understanding of the chemistry. It's a phenomenon that I've witnessed first hand and observed in others smoking early and late flowers. The late cure flowers are better received, some folks dont even recognize it's the same flower they have already smoked...

Running a batch of GT I have. Looks like I have some great phenos to pick from at the moment.

I'm partially selecting for citrus smell and tastes found in the Thai genes, but wondering what types of effects I can expect from each end of the Thai and Malawi spectrum.

Hi YukonKronic :)

Glad to read your Golden Tiger lady is evoking you so many things! I can feel you have really passion and connection with your plants.

To answer your question, your female is showing classic traits for a Malawi/Thai hybrid, it has the overall look and structure of Malawi, with the elegant, lankier Thai influence and tinner leaves. Hope she is doing fine since the last update!
