Hi ibeenaround,

It's not so confusing. Golden Tiger fem was bred using Double Thai while Golden Tiger standard has only one thai. Thank you very much vinrusso for your help, perfect explanation

We have updated both Golden Tiger descriptions at our website this year to make this difference clear.

Golden Tiger Standard -> The standard version of Golden Tiger has stronger Malawi influence, contains only one Thai strain (Hmong/Meo) and the flowering is sligthly shorter than the feminized version.

Golden Tiger Feminized -> The feminized version of Golden Tiger has stronger Thai influence, is better yielding and has more refined aromas than the standard version, but the flowering time is slightly longer.

Concretely, Golden Tiger feminized contains 2 Thai strains (Koh Chang Thai and Hmong Thai), and 2 different Malawi parental plants: the old killer Malawi and the 3rd generation new Malawi killer.

well we just finished another round with GT.. we grew our 2 clones (3rd round), n 2 add. ladies from seeds sowed... we veg'd the seeds for 55days, n flowered em for 135.. they have dried, n have been in jars for 7days... 1st impression of the new plants is the same as our clones... disappointing... maybe a nice cure will perk it up, but as with our 1st n 2nd go-around with GT, this ain't weed from the 60's... no way..

GT has gotten rave reviews from others, dubi has said the combo of Malawi/thai is prob the strongest weed ... if after a good cure it doesn't get way stronger... the old n new clones will be culled.... and we'll be back to square one looking for the mighty sativa...

^ Only potency problem i saw with the GT was it was TOO damn potent. Every pheno i ever grew of it was dumbass strong. Interesting to note tho that none of them went 135 days. The longest flowering one was maybe 80-90 days.

Zack what lights do you use? Anything less than 600w is a waste of time IMO.
But try the Zamaldelica I think it is way better than GT its very motivated and trippy as hell I love it, GT is liked by my friends but too narcotic for my taste I like to MOVE!

what are some of the early finishing golden tiger?
Any potency difference in the early vs long finisher?

At 80 to 90 day who compact was the bud?

Odd thai genetics would finish that " fast"

I am an old timer so the more potent the better.

At 90 days we can have some ready for a nice new years eve..

80-90 days the buds on GT were rock hard and not that big, similar to girl scout forum cut but with higher yield and bugs up and down the branches, plus stronger branches. The 80-90 days is just my estimate, as they were done about second week of november but dont recall when they actually started to bud.

Zack what lights do you use? Anything less than 600w is a waste of time IMO.
But try the Zamaldelica I think it is way better than GT its very motivated and trippy as hell I love it, GT is liked by my friends but too narcotic for my taste I like to MOVE!

we have 3x1000w ... the 2nd grow we went hydro , (waterfarms) thinking it would make a diff... it didn't...

our 1st grow, we picked at 3 diff times around 110/125/148 days... didn't see any diff in potency... at 90days all the ladies are clear, not a cloudy one tobe seen, hence the longer grow...

what we are looking for is that oldtime sativa ... thought GT would be it, espec since I think there is not one negative comment on it... mite have to try zamaldelica... or some of dubi's sister company's Columbian or Mexican beans... the hunt goes on....

Hey Tag, was your GT Malawi pheno? I grew out a very thai influenced fem GT. Great high and monster colas. I'm growing some Zamaldelica reg now. They were from 2012. Strange looking plants. I have a couple wispy versions. Then a closer node branchy one. And the last one is the weird one. I thought it was Malawi at first. It still looks like a completely different plant. Are the pheno's that different looking?

Zach The Feminized version or GT is more up your alley.It has more vigor has more Thai in it. I have smoked both. The fem gives a lot of energy, and it blows you away after a two week cure. Try it, if you get a good pheno, I think it's the best all around weed ACE has. Big yields also. No tolerance limit is what I dig about a good sativa, and this is my 4th month smoking it.

Zach I'm from the late 70's era. And get the Feminized version of the GT. I wouldn't steer you wrong. Believe me, Ive tried both Tagwena apparently got a more narcotic pheno, I think that the Thai pheno is more abundant. It will bring you back to the good times and then some.

Zac- With all due respect, you are growing GT 3-7 weeks too long imo. Just try it at 90 days, the hell with looking at the trichromes. Just like GET MO I did it at 87 & 89 days, GT Fem - large hard buds under a 400w light both times- super impressive. Absolutely incredible, super powerful- no question at all that it was ready & done. Never looked at the tri's, consider that unreliable on sativas. It smelled incredibly good, was coated in sticky resin everywhere and had had next to no growth for a week- it looked ripe and it was, smoked and cured just excellent. Can you tell I love it ?? lol
In a previous original post by you, you mentioned "smelled like hay". Often a sign of growing too long. I had a sativa cross I made many years ago. An "expert" friend convinced me I was picking too early and, on his advice, I grew it out another month. Buds were much larger, as he said they would be. Potency was way down though and it smelled like hay.
GET MO stated it could be "too damn potent..." I would second that statement, too many tokes and look out lol. I rate the GT fem as 10 out of 10, as good as it gets.

Hi Vin the pheno I got looked identicle to the picture on the web site I took it after leaves yellowed I do not look at trichs. Even after 3 months cure its still sticky, super powerful 2 toke stuff but not my cup of tea.
I like speedy, tripped out highs not narcotic. The zamaldelicas I had were mostly Malawi phenos also super strong but not speedy enough for me, the one phenol that was very thin and bushy with small dense flowers was the best I have had since leaving Africa and again is still sticky after 3 months cure. I am growing a clone again right now, the high is emediate you can feel it take hold of your body and mind, you have little control over the high it just goes wherever it wants, its breathtaking and totally enjoyable if you like being off your head and not couch locked. Very good get up and party gear, the closest I have come to tripping on acid in 30 years.
I would say look after the weediest scrawniest plants as they will be the ones that blow your mind. The Malawi phenos will give yield and power for sure not to be sneezed at by any means but for you r personal stash for when you want to get out of your body and mind for the day the weedy phenos are the best in my opinion.
You cant go wrong with any of them they will all deliver.

hey... thanks for the comments... but these plants were still pushing at 110/125days...our 1st go with GT, we picked at 3 diff time, 110/125/148...this time all were picked at 130/135..at the moment we have 3 diff GT ladies now at 35days of veg.. we are switching over to flower in a week,maybe a bit longer... i'll give em a haircut this time at 90-ish to see if it makes a difference... and this time they are again in waterfarms... i'll report back... in 3+mos

hi Zach any pictures? I sympathise with you if your not getting what you ant out of them. Not every body likes to be stoned unable to move, I personaly like to run riot when high.
It seems like you gave it your best shot it was just not up to your expectations, just keep looking like me I cant find 100% what I want but close enough is good enough for now.
Zamaldelica does that for me at the moment.

i have pics.. i'll upload em later, as on external hardrive.. i tooo don't want a couch-lock stone... i want that electric stone... i did find that high years ago in a cheap pack of nirvana's jock horror, which is a knock-off of sensi' jack herer.. it was the best weed we have ever grown, n if not the 60's style stone that i remember, it was pretty damn close... unfort being young... well old n stupid, didnt take any cuttings, and after going thru close to 2 packs of the jock, and a pack of jack herer never found anything close to it...
next week going to order a couple few packs, one being zamaldelica, n maybe a panama, n thinking of a columbian from dubi's partner
