Wow! Thats a cool story evilme. Yeah dont get me wrong I am going to spend most of my time in the shops like I said the goal is to visit at least 42 shops in 2 week period. The herbs is my main reason for going.
Btw, Got a link from the forums here and am renting an apartment in Amsterdam near the dam square for my whole stay..a SMOKING allowed apartment yay!

There's lots of "Dutch" tv channels that show plenty of US shows (most of the popular ones, although probably showing older series than in the US) there's also BBC 1 and 2 from the UK which is in English..

The weather will probably be horrid... lol seriously, bring a rain coat and shoes that dont leak (think piss wet, windy, dark, gloomy, cold that kind of thing..lol)

RE: shrooms, the official word is that fresh shrooms are no longer for sale, however you can still buy psychoactive "truffles" with ease (dont ask me mate, I never took em) as well as "some" shops still doing "under the counter" business on shrooms...

Thanks Jamie for the greqat info as usual. Yah honestly not interested in the shrooms...Cool then I will be able to watch some shows as I pass out in the night..BTW do you ever watch that BBC show called Ideal (it is fking hilarious if not!).

I was thinking about staying in Haarlam because I figured itd be a little quieter and more comfortable. Im older now and not really into partying hardcore anymore. Im going mainly to smoke top quality herbs legally and see a few tourist stuff like the weed museums/grows, museums, Anne Frank house and such...
Truthfully I prolly wont spend alot of time partying in the shops more like hang in them during the day and then take smoke to go in the evenings.

hogg ive stayed in haarlem a few times and its a nice little town. a lot nicer and safer than amsterdam just quiet. good place to chill and take the train during the day to amsterdam

There were quite a few different strains I liked, but that one was extra special to me
As far as who has better weed California or Amsterdam? My honest opinion... Amsterdam. It seemed to be grown better really. Not to say I haven’t ever had stuff here that wasn’t grown as well or better in some cases, but I get a lot a stuff grown not so well, where in Amsterdam I didn't see/smell/smoke too many buds that weren’t flushed and cured to my standard. Prices for Ganja are good over there too. Eat the Banana Pancake things at Barney's uptown they are awesome! Please ask me any other questions you have about Coffee shop experiences or anything.

P.S. The whores in the Red Light District are quite an experience, I didn’t try the services, but walking around with my wife checking them out, and rating them was a lot fun.

Oh and Jamie... Your the man for moving there bro. That place was so cool in every way. We really like how different it was,and how different the people are. We loved getting around there, and how people got around there. I effing hate driving and people driving big cars! hortus botanicus was really amazing too

when I first came, one of the things that would blow my mind was to see a bus or tram pull up at a stop and then people from all around the world would get off, as if the bus must have been travelling for months, country to country to collect them from such far afield places... ok I also was high a lot...and still am ..hehe

I know what you’re saying about all the people from around the world and the different cultures, we really liked that a lot. I like how people mind there own business there too, and are polite for the most part when getting around. I need you to do us a huge favor though... Barney's opens in five minutes... Please go to the coffee shop and buy 3 grams of Dr. Grinspoon, and smoke it at uptown while waiting for your order of banana chocolate swirl pancakes to arrive to your table. We keep talking about how awesome that was to start the day off that way, and want to do it again so bad. I know I know it’s a lot to ask since we know each other so well and for so long but hey the favor is for you too.

Heya Bestbuds, Glad to hear you had a great time!
I'm now less than 6 weeks out and cant wait.
Got me an apartment rented for 2 weeks and plane tickets bought.
Been reading up on everything dam related and am super stoked about my upcoming trip.
There are some other coffeshops that have that same strain of Dr, Grinspoon, they call it Quaze, I believe and its like 5 euros cheaper, It is definatley on the list along with many others.
How long did you end up staying and how many coffeshops you ge to?
