Hi Max my light is set on 1150w now max power. Has been for 4 days, its a 4x4 tray iD overall its 4.5x4.5 feet..... there going APE SHIT

Looks like i'm going to have to do some trimming its so thick.... But i need some advice on how to go about that and not take too many fan's out.... Some pictures would be great.... directions or what ever..... this is not a problem i have researched...... or experienced
just grab a 5 gallon bucket & start lopping off fan leaves ...... its pretty simple really . once you get into it , you'll know when & where to stop . just do it over the course of a few days , don't take to much all at once . maybe a buckets full a day .
can you get to the back of that net aspen ? i think you said you could . work from the middle out , the middle is the thickest spot in that canopy . the edges aren't so bad .
once thats done , thats when the second net should be applied to hold up the branches as they get fat , especially if they're 18" long on some of them . put the net in around a foot up from the other one .

I do minor defo during veg, the first few days of flower and then at day 20/21 will be a bit more aggressive.
When I am doing a vertical grow I do some major defo.
I try doing this in stages, not all at once, as it does slow down recovery if you over do it.

wow i havent pulled a 5gal buckets worth of shading fan leaves off my entire 4.5 x 7 screen and im done plucking now pretty much at 5 weeks in. for serious tho dan? i feel like the gg or whatever s1 or what i currently have has very few fans compared to other strains.
lol , shes got a pretty thick canopy there nameless ! i bet she fills a couple buckets !
but your right , gg4 has alot less fans than most strains .
Here is what I did, I am not advocating that you do this but rather just showing you what I did. This is my first grow so I have absolutely nothing previous to compare to. Not sure if I went overboard or not I guess time will tell.
Edit: my trellis by the way is 4.5 feet by 4.5 feet ID.

but i left alot more budsites under the net this time than i did last run , because theres plenty of light getting through the canopy & i had cut off alot of good budsites on the last run that could have given me alot more bud .

Those are some nice chunky girls Dans. I'm glad I'm not too far off base on what I did to my girls. I honestly feel bad about how much I chopped off them.
