i can tell it's already too late for Aspen ... the GLUE has bewitched her ... :sasmokin:

it's ok ...it happens to peeps

Bewitched is a good word for what i have now.... totally fucken hooked is more like it honestly, the GG4 is doing great!!!! it's just amazing how she responds to every little thing i do..... you see every mistake and every victory on a daily basis..... when i open that door and see how they have responded and there all 4 inches taller....... but it's Growing in general.... My days of chasing the Kind Bud in the streets is nearly behind me.... I'll be able to share with my friends and help a few of them medicate. Im really glad i took the time to research and not just jump in without a clue, the three years have been invaluable and i think (Hope i'm not tooting my own horn here) that all the time and research before my first real grow can really be seen.... I mean for my first run it's going pretty good i think.... No real emergencies or mistakes made to this point...... and i challenge any new grower to do a better job with their systems and plants on their first real run. To all you rookie growers out there GOOD LUCK with that challenge, I hope to see pictures of your first grows that BLOW mine away lol........:tiphat::tiphat:

Now having said that i would also point out that none of this would be possible without all of you guys and the MAG...... Keep checking back and posting up.... And thank you..... really thank you all...

Growing into the future...

Growing into the future...

So now that things are finally moving along..... My grow is underway.... I've had some time to think about what i want to do as far as growing goes.....
I think a Sea of Green is where i'm headed, something like 4 flower trays set up exactly like i have this one set up..... it works great and i have not suffered one spill and i think the plants speak for themselves... My little DTW is on fire...... simple and dependable!
Yea 4 trays in rotation starting one tray every 2 weeks and harvest one every two weeks! (If i have that figured right...) I know Flower times differ.... and ill be doing single tray mono grows.....
Ill be building another Identical system as soon as i have harvested this one and refilled her...
Currently i'm finishing my Clone/seedling tent box thingy and trying to get the 5x10 mother/vege room up to speed to support the next grow.....

Damn skippy, it's an awesome grow for your first time!! I've only ever seen one person have a very first run turn out as good as yours is going. No need to be ashamed about yourself saying how good it looks. We are often our own worst critics. So when you can pat yourself on the back, instead of cutting yourself down, that's a check mark in the win column !

Also love your idea of the 2 week perpetual system. You were saying some varieties might take longer? That's when you use two of those tables for those cultivars. Say you have a 12 week cultivar. Start a table, and 6 weeks in, flip it's "sister" table. Then still have your other tables on a 4 week rotation. Should still work out to harvesting every 2 weeks or so. Initially you may have a gap a little larger than 2 weeks. But once you get right into it, I'm pretty sure the "harvest every two weeks" will still be happening.

is there anyway you could do all 4 trays in seperate rooms , or at least have the lights seperated from each other ?
the reason i ask , is 4 rooms is my goal for the reason of no veg room & a once a month harvest .
each room has its own system , 50 days of veg & 70 days of flower . harvested every 120 days , each room 30 days apart from each other . 4 rooms 30 days apart at 120 day harvests is 12 harvests a year .... 30 days apart .

then all you need is a clone & mom room . veg is done in each flower room .

start one room , with your plants in veg , 30 days later start room 2 , 30 days later start room 3 , 30 days later start 4 room & harvest & reload room 1 ........ perpetual !

when first starting off , you have 30 days to get the next room set up & ready to go in veg . great for one person to deal with !

That's kinda what I'm shooting for.... the flower room Im in is 14' long 6.5 wide and 9' high..... i will put two systems in there... the other two in tents most likely..... the room i'm in now is where ill put a mini split with co2 and another gavita with supplemental lighting, seal it up...... and work the VPD charts to death..... the tents ill light with Dual Ceramic mh fixtures and let the ac in my shop handle that heat.... then its on like Donkey Kong

Yuppers, if your gonna be able to feed that kind of set-up, your clone game better be on point. Large bushy mothers, or multiple mothers of the same variety. More than likely need an entire room just for mothers and clones/vegging plants.

It's not that hard once you get into the swing of things. Remember....always take more cuts than you'll need. Better to have too many, than not enough.

Ahhhhh and what kind of pots do i use?? I put two clones in a single pot for my mothers, they do there own thing but they are bushy as hell...... the airpots keep the roots from competing with the other plants root system. as the root systems live and die off at the same rate, another benefit of a non spiraling root system. This allows both plants to coexist without the dominate plant takin over.... and when there healthy they can flood you with clones...

if she only does 1 tray a month , thats only 6 clones needed each month . thats not bad ......
i run 2 trays & only need 12 , i take 20 or so & pick the best 12 .

IMHO, the finer the chop of the coco the more tendency it will have to over water, the strings and rougher cut make coco! I have used three different brands of coco and to my Canna is far superior.

GR

It would be highly unlikely for me to ever over water my pots...Have you seen my pots there full of holes..... I already feed six times a day lights on every two hours, right at a 1/4 gallon of fresh nutrient solution, so that's a gallon and a half every time i water so now we're at 9 gallons a day, and the plants use just that much i have less than a gallon of runoff daily. every two hours....... CoCo as a material has the right water retention for plant growth, the chop is nothing more than personal preference, It is very nearly impossible to overwater coco if there is adequate drainage available, let the coco sit in water and become waterlogged and you're doomed for failure... :):)

i got my shop to carry them for me now , but heres the link to the manufacturer . if you look at their video .... its almost the same set up Aspen has lol

Dan,
What size drip nozzle are you using with the Black Hole, I am about to do a new set up and would like to use them if the nozzle config works. Do you have the name and pt # of the nozzles.
I like Aspens manifold also, control pressure to her rings by bleed off, grand idea.

Thanks,

GR

i've got enough 3/4" PVC laying around here from building my net frames , when this round is done in flower , i might just build a manifold like hers & the ones in that video ......
would save me having to clean the 1/2" lines after each run from laying in the runoff !

see Aspen , you do inspire us !!!

Did not see the manifold you are talking about in the video.

GR
I agree she does.

not sure what you mean by drip nozzle .... but if you mean what fitting the halos comes with , they have 2 sizes , 1/2" & 3/8ths " , i use the 3/8ths" & just use a T that adapts the 1/2" to the 3/8ths" line .

aspen has hers all set up for 1/2" lines & probably feeds faster than mine . you could do the same with the hydro halos & get the ones with 1/2" feed ends so you don't have to find the T's like i use . it was a PIA finding them . so i bought a lot of them just in case .

Dan uses 3/8 size fittings on his Black holes they come in 1/2 to....

I agree she does.

I have build pictures up way back in the thread...none of my pvc sits in the drainage channels I have it built into the Tray......

Killing it aspen!! You have great company..
Dans i bought some Coco... can i pick your brain? Im going to do a side by side.
I love this thread.. great vibes, and good people helping eachother out... what ic should be about!!
Cheers ic!

Terminology, drip emitters! so you plug your Black Hole into the water source via 3/8" fitting and the unit itself has no emitters just open holes like the hydro halos. I am sorry but I just can't picture it. I can see the hole on the HH's but not the BH's. What is you gal/min with them.

I am still catching up on the reading so I may not have read bout this if it has been posted.

yea GR they dont have emitters in them.... just small holes.... the Gallon a minute is determined by the size of the pump, I think Dan uses a pump just shy of 300 gpm maybe 280 gpm...... they're very similar to the Hydro Halos i run..... what you need to remember is the timer makes the difference in setups like these, if you have a smaller pump you can simply run it for longer intervals or reduce the time between on cycles... the dependability, ease of use, flexibility of the Multi feed DTW IN COCO is really hard to beat...... I mean look at my plants..... and remember that I'm A girl that's still new to all of this......
