Cloning in coco is just like using rockwool plugs....its all about the moisture content. Its a goldilocks thing... not too wet, not too dry, not too cold/warm.
For coco....hydrate and then squeeze out to sponge like dampness, stab clones and leave alone for a few days.....give the bottoms of the cups a little dip if they are getting dry. **I soak my fresh cuts overnight in cups of water before they go into coco/rw....it gets them fully turgid....no droop/wilt w/ no dome.**
