Gender dysphoria and the trans movement.

Americas not out to get trans people. They just want them to understand that they have to stay in their lane, like everyone else does. They dont belong in womens sports. Thats for women and they worked hard to get where they are now. Theres enough trans people that they can have their own competitions in their own leagues. Everybody wins. The bathroom issue is just stupid, because they've always used what bathrooms they want to in the first place and nobody cared, but the trans community are the ones making a big deal of that now too. Suing fitness gyms, suing yoga studios because the women dont want to shower with them. Demanding businesses build trans only bathrooms (expensive). Everyones a victim now. Its pitiful because when i was growing up all these people wanted was acceptance. Now they want preferential treatment. Thats whats pissing everybody off

It's remarkable how many people are terrified of what they are being told to fear.

It's fascinating to see the fervent fear afforded to freedom.

If you are scared of trans people ask yourself why... odds are you have just been corralled into thinking that without much food for thought.

They're not hurting anyone, they're being hurt.

There's some seriously insecure people who think that there's some conspiracy to indoctrinate children which is patently false and outrageous.

The folks with the hate have less acceptance than their targeted group. They don't know what it's like to be free from judgement.

They won't understand that trans people are more accepting and completely sympathetic when it comes to individual liberty.

The fear that they feel is being misplaced.

The people who are corralling this thinking deserve the fear and hatred that is being placed on the trans community.
For the most parts, I believe humans have always been (at least initially) judgmental and/or frightened toward the novel, the different, etc. I think that, to some extent, our own unanswered questions, and the bullshit we feed ourselves to make those unanswerable questions more tolerable or livable, has us paint ourselves into corners of dogma for the purpose of a false sense of security and knowing things that we really don't know, and when something seems to violate those superimposed, made-up rules that we conjure to make the unknown livable, then we tend to get riled.

Look at organized religion and its edicts. Yet no one involved can really -prove- their 'rule book' (how ever arbitrary, vague, or less than specific it might be) is correct or fact-based.

And I know of way too many cases of folks who are/were gay or trans getting physically assaulted or harassed, or discriminated against, for merely holding hands or giving a kiss in a public setting, to believe the hostility has to do with infrastructural or organizational resentments.

You have some valid points re; washrooms and sports. Heck, there were unisex washrooms in Vancouver in the 70s. The special treatment, I have mixed feelings about. Some of the loud voices want this.

In the interim (background) disabled people are still not provided proper useable washroom facilities and are treated like baggage if they dare fly somewhere.

That's just the thing... it's everybody's lane. They can't use any bathroom that they want and never could.

Don't pity people who need acceptance... accept them. It's not preferential treatment of you accept everyone.

There's different things pissing off different people... I'm a little bit stunned to see the disparity of your application of generality.

the issue with sports and bathrooms i agree with. if you need to win so bad that you want to compete with women, you have already lost. i've got a fuckload of bowling and darts trophies if anyone out there wants to take their picture with them and pretend they "won" at something. bathrooms is ridiculous. until you have your affirming surgery, you need to use the damn mens room, and i don't GAFF if that hurts your widdle feewings...someone will eventually put locks on the bathroom doors so no one else can get in until the occupant is done. wait your damn turn...

Youre confusing my disparity for the cold hard facts. Youre not going to have a day where most women are onboard with competing against trans athletes. Thats not gonna happen. The current fallout will only make people resent them more as time goes on and I agree they dont deserve that.

If it was everyones lane we would all be showering in the womens locker room

What many forget is the affect of hormones on the body.

If a person born as a man is taking anti-androgen treatments and/or estrogen, the body reacts to that.

It's not like the bicyclist who just won a race in the media is simply a man wearing a wig.

Likewise, for those who were born as women. who take testosterone, their bodies are not as originally designed either.

There are more intricacies to these discussions than many folks seem to consider.

And often more biases than many or some are willing to openly admit if they're even a little bit self-aware. While others are not self-aware sufficiently to even realize their cretin-like bullying and narrow ways.
.
I recall a couple or so decades ago, a couple of gay men sitting in a restaurant in Los Anchorage (somewhat liberal urban oasis of sorts in Alaska), and when they finished their meal, they shared a kiss and walked out of the place hand-in-hand, toward their vehicle. Horrid public behavior, right?!! (Sarcasm intended).

Their vehicle was trashed by a small group of assholes, they were assaulted with bats, and more, by a bunch of righteously indignant shitheads who thought they had license to assault those not like themselves in some ways. Though I'm absolutely certain that few of them would've had an issue with kissing their date or walking hand-in-hand out to their vehicle upon departure from a restaurant.

If I'd have been present, aptly perceiving a Louisville Slugger as indeed on par with a deadly weapon if used in an assault, I'd have been prone to placing a nice hot semi-jacketed fragmentation projectile by way of a 10mm slug into a couple of them just to teach some etiquette and decent social skills.

Bullies, zealots and tyrants have always pissed me off.

Lol thats what i find so entertaining about the speakers toilet. No matter what the threads about they always end up back at murdering the republicans. I know im yet to see any drama like that thrown at the LGBT community where i live and im from a very red state. Not even growing up with them 25 years ago. Unless you count a butch betty beating up on her girlfriend at a Chilis

I have no idea what political party they affiliated with, nor whether they even voted.

But I'll guarantee that if you research events involving assaults on transgender and gay folks, you'll find no shortage of incidents. it's real. and there's no license to do so, though at times it seems that some believe there is..

As a carrier of CW's who values his freedom, thus more or less toes the line where such things are concerned, responding to an assault with a deadly weapon by using lethal force to stop it is, indeed, lawful.

Folks engaged in such antics as the incident I wrote about ought to consider that heavily.

Not all of us traditional leftists are still putting daisies down barrels. .

If you'd like me to post the research re. violent crimes (hate crimes) against transgender and gay folks, I'd be happy to do so. it's a real thing.

Though I would've hoped there'd have been at least a little discussion and such regarding the use of hormones in transition therapies and the effects on the human body's constitution.

I'd wager heavy dollars I can post another hundred links to verifiable and respected sites for documented figures re. these issues.

And the actions of such miscreants have no place in my Country. Today, tomorrow, or ever.

Well........theyre not good for your body and they have really nasty effects down the road but hey you only live once. I absolutely believe in their right to take them and transition. I just dont want to be left paying for it.

I dont condone bigotry either but theres plenty of that to go around in todays climate. Look up the new black panthers. Those maggots call for violence against everyone thats not black including gays and jews. Even the SPLC has them listed as a threat. Killed 5 cops in Houston 2 years ago for no reason at all.

I could continue to post relevant sites, but I'm only apt to become more riled.

There are members in these forums who are LGBTQ+ who might speak more directly to this issue if they felt doing so wouldn't involve backlash.

My family member's clinic has dealt with such populations for well over 2 decades.

People giggled and posted memes of humor in these forums re. the Club Q shootings in Colorado; sociopathic sick motherfuckers, one and all.

The issues are real. They either get addressed and solved, or they become a breeding ground for different forms of fall-out. one or the other.

I wasn't and haven't been gay or transgendered. I was raised by a person who was born a Hoosier and being the black sheep in her family of corn and hog farmers meant accepting Black people, even if just on the television.

I have felt uncomfortable around gay people in earlier life, 40+ years ago, got rides from gay people who offered sex on the highways when I was a hitchhiker (finding that all that was required was a 'no thanks'), and thankfully realized that my reactions were MY reactions, and I needed to address -my- social conditioning that led to MY discomfort. Strange or new things often bring uncertainty. It's often in both our DNA and our conditioning. It's not necessarily the other person's issues.

If it's trans people making it an issue, then why was it was I hearing nothing about trans issues until after right wing reactionaries blew a gasket?

Oh that's right. They have no policies to speak of so they only have grievance politics.

Funny, no political affiliation was mentioned until you brought it up. Project much?

The 5 cops were black if that makes a difference in the point im making
Yep, and the 26 corrupt cops in NOLa who a friend helped the feds put away for too short of a time also included Black officers, who were all poorly trained, underpaid and more, and all of them received inadequate prison sentences for convictions for crimes ranging from murder for hire, to extortion, and much, much more.

And Gary stated unequivocally that power and greed were more root causes than racism in those events.

But that's rarely the case in the types of offenses we're discussing herein. We're talking hate crimes here.

My involvement with similar miscreants goes back over 50 years. On Hitler's b-day in 1989, my soon-to-be-wife and I, among over 1,000 others, marched on Richard Butler's Aryan Nations Church of Jesus Christ. The feds eventually came to own that asshat's compound.

I've been irritated by such scumbags for most of 60 years that I've been conscious of their types. The theft of innocence they perpetrate on our kids, the fear they generate, and more. And see even less reason to tolerate most of them today.

Butler's crew was still burning crosses in the front yards of mixed-race couples in the Spokane area in the 1980s, and an off-shoot of his 'Klan' (The Order) was responsible for using suppressed MAC-10 .45acp's to waste unarmed David Allen Berg in his driveway in Colorado.

I consider ridding the planet of such folks to be a functional part of a good 'Beautify America' program.
