Just as a curveball of sorts for contemplation, a while back h.h. posted a provocative thread about phthalates and their overwhelming (apparently approved) presence in our containers, cosmetic products, etc. Fairly pervasive, really.

Turns out that research shows they have the capacity to rearrange the parts of DNA relative to gender.

No conclusions on my part, but the data is there to at least ask some questions.

I'm going to need to see a citation for that.

Not that I'm a fan of phthalates. But that claim seems a bit... far reaching.

I try to never bullshit online or in life in more personal settings.

I can continue looking for a specific link, though there are many, but you can begin here:

There are MANY more links to weed through. If you wish, you could give it a go yourself, too.

Male newborns more vulnerable to the effects of phthalates than female newborns.

Combine this with the other studies citing an anti-androgen effect for male babies/fetuses.

Again, take your time, the studies re DNA and phthalates are many in number.

Edit: These were my search terms with Google.

""phthalates and influence on DNA and gender""

Conservative Boycotting Bud Light Forced To Drink 6 Cans Of Something Else Before Hitting Kids

SIOUX FALLS, SD—After he vowed not to patronize the Anheuser-Busch company because of its marketing partnership with a transgender TikTok star, sources reported Friday that a local conservative man boycotting Bud Light was forced to drink six cans of something else before hitting his kids. “Tonight I’d love nothing more than to enjoy my usual six-pack and start terrorizing my family, but now that Bud Light is woke, I guess I’ll have to switch to Miller Lite or Twisted Tea or something else,” said Dennis Chase, 46, who added that if the brand of beer he had been loyal to for decades supported groomers, he could not in good conscience drink it to excess, grow angry, and then throw the empty can at his son’s head. “You won’t see me drinking from some gay rainbow can while I whip my daughter with an extension cord or threaten to beat our crying toddler who won’t shut the hell up. No, I’m not gonna let some depraved company force their homosexual agenda down my kids’ throats as I’m choking the life out of them.” At press time, sources confirmed Chase was working on his second six-pack and had moved on to the next part of his regular nightly routine, googling trans porn.

Wow, that's some pretty harsh parody. With tones of exaggerated or not-so-exaggerated reality in it for sure, at least in some cases, but... man.

Not to mention, talk about type-casting a character. The dude in that pic's apt to get his ass kicked left, right, and center, by both men and women, wherever he goes for, like, a decade or more.

But I'm betting there'll be a select group of acquaintances and friends at the tavern or the bowling alley who will buy him celebratory drinks on the regular, too.

LOL I know what I'll do if I have to lift a dirty lid every time I need to go.....

Illinois measure would require ‘gender neutral’ bathrooms to remove ‘offensive’ urinals – Center Square

“So we took into consideration the concerns of several members who voiced that concern in terms of again, people who walk into a restroom and might be offended by a urinal so what we are trying to do is to make sure that we are addressing those concerns,” state Sen. Celina Villanueva said. “Urinals are just as good as a toilet.” State Sen. Neil Anderson asked, “Are they going to be offended if I leave the toilet seat up?"

It's the Onion. That's pretty much on par for them. The heavy handed sarcasm.

What's really funny is not too long ago a congresscritter got introduced to the Onion in the most brutal of ways - they took the Onion seriously and were promptly lambasted by pretty much everybody.

I'd assumed it was from the Onion or similar but wasn't sure and didn't copy and search the web for sources.

I knew it was parody. And sometimes the onions stuff, while pointed, is a bit more subtle..

Just bitingly edged in this case. Like it had barbs on it more so than is their typical. Although clearly addressing in exaggeration a phenomenon that's all too real.

At the moment (and in the past) there's all sort of familial upheaval and violence in some cases resulting from the cultural or social chasm between narrow and shell-shocked parents or family members and their recently outed LGBTQ+ members. Seriously and sadly. Like Archie Bunker finding out Gloria is a lesbian or something and getting physical in some cases.

We tend to be very slow in our acceptances and adaptation, despite overall being somewhat of an adaptive species. Just that in that course of many peoples' adaptation, the path is sometimes emotionally or physically painful for those being adjusted to.

Like those who spent years railing against cannabis use for the alleged ills it might bring, while the alcoholic cops beat the tar out of their families in their very real and verifiable greater than average showing in the data involving cases of alcohol abuse and domestic violence back when it was 'a private family matter and not a big deal.'

And the generalized source of sadness for some of us watching this neo-clusterfuck with any sort of empathy, however awkward it might seem to some of us, is that in the end, most folks just want to live their lives as they see fit and be left the fuck alone to do so, or, heaven forbid, even maybe receive some positive encouragement to do so.

(Some link that is supposed to explain the poster's point of view)

Frosty, how about telling us a little about the video and perhaps expound upon the reason why you posted it, or point out the pertinent part(s)??

I don't think that twenty some minutes is filled with terrified people urging others to be afraid of people who are free to live as they like...

Let's just highlight the bigotry and see if we can save people time... maybe just the parts about they're coming to take your children away or they ruined your beer brand...??

One of many arguments used to criminalize drugs, or maintain criminal status back in the day, most of 100 years ago, including cannabis, was (and I'm not fabricating or exaggerating) it/they would cause Black men to want White women.

Hold up what is perceived as the vulnerable possessions or 'chattel', and allege that if whatever crisis of the moment continues, some nefarious and obviously different 'other' will want to control or possess (i.e. 'take away') that chattel.

Provides some insights to the frightened folks who deny their fear, but for whom lots of preconceptions, misconceptions and presumptions are based in someone taking something that's theirs's, when, in truth, the thing they fear being taken was never theirs in that sense in the first place.

Strange beings, we homo-sapiens.

Not particularly a species I'd want to leave guarding my most precious stuff, as we're way too theatrical, poorly bounded, greedy, possessive, opportunistic, etc., which has often caused me to question that whole Biblical thing about us being 'good stewards' or made in 'God's image'.. If true, we've failed miserably in my opinion, or whatever Supreme Deity is around and allegedly responsible for our beings, has some serious issues.

If I were to weigh in on the "God's image" bit, I have to go with both we failed and we're just following suit.

It's remarkable how many people are terrified of what they are being told to fear.

It's fascinating to see the fervent fear afforded to freedom.

If you are scared of trans people ask yourself why... odds are you have just been corralled into thinking that without much food for thought.

They're not hurting anyone, they're being hurt.

There's some seriously insecure people who think that there's some conspiracy to indoctrinate children which is patently false and outrageous.

The folks with the hate have less acceptance than their targeted group. They don't know what it's like to be free from judgement.

They won't understand that trans people are more accepting and completely sympathetic when it comes to individual liberty.

The fear that they feel is being misplaced.

The people who are corralling this thinking deserve the fear and hatred that is being placed on the trans community.
