Just as a curveball of sorts for contemplation, a while back h.h. posted a provocative thread about phthalates and their overwhelming (apparently approved) presence in our containers, cosmetic products, etc. Fairly pervasive, really.
Turns out that research shows they have the capacity to rearrange the parts of DNA relative to gender.
No conclusions on my part, but the data is there to at least ask some questions.
