Fungus gnats or WINGED ROOT APHIDS???

I ordered the Essentria IC3 "Cliff Paul" and so, this product is NOT recommended as a root drench via the company that sells it!
Have you ACTUALLY used this product yourself Storm, or did you just "hear" about it here in discussion????

ROOT DRENCH ROOT DRENCH ROOTH DRENCH, DUH (Because this is where they live, and intern, survive many treatments ) Come on, man

I am NOT needing a sprayable area spray , or some 'OTHER USE' for this product. So if you had used this Ic3 product or just "HEARD" about it, ENLIGHTEN ME as to the applicable measurements, as there is NOTHING out there about root drenching that I have seen, with regards to Essentria Ic3.

Please don't throw crap put there if you don't either explain it or understand it, SS. If you know something someone else doesn't, don't HINT to them, or give them SOME info. If you know what your talking about, great, EXPLAIN FULLY, if not , DON'T POINT AT SOMETHING UNTIL YOU KNOW what the heck your even REALLY talking about. We need to try and make our helpful direction ACCURATE< SPECIFIC< and COMPLETE for people who are either not familiar with a new product, or maybe just not that capable without a little help

Ya, your help is appreciated but not to be led down the WRONG path as so many others here seem to end up on, which is why I took the time to explain my RA routine for battle, a successful one at that!

Yes way to go man...nice to see people that set other people straight...I am not a big fan of any oil based additives especially in DWC...here is what happened to 1 of mine overnight after adding GoGnats at half the recommended dosage...I was not happy and the finished product was useless...strong cedar smell and taste...I knew batter and kept telling myself not to do it at that point and just ride it out...but I got greedy...Live and learn.

Damn bro, that screwed stuff up. I have actually used Go gnats before with no real ill effects. I ran it systemically at the recommended dose and used it as an area spray. I actually must say that using it systemically HELPED the aphid issue, but didn't eradicate them by any means. I had minimal plant damage with this product , but sorry it burned your plants. The PCO cedar oil "dunks" I did with 3 test plants all looked just like your there, DEAD

Glad your doing better , I do applaud your efforts, BUT there is NO such thing in indoor growing with cannabis- as - co existence / harmony, sorry (my opinion)

With a certain level of infestation, these methods are OFF THE TABLE IMO

I amended my ass off too, with neem cake, all different mediums, and early, weeks before the initial transplant, also with MET 52, (didn't work)


I did not dunk my foliage. And I did flush thoroughly post- treatment

What is super crazy though is that I saw some very very small crawling bugs , thinking they we're junior RA's at the time, I then followed Granger's instructions and tried killing them , THEY SURVIVED THE CEDAR DUNK. Come to find out they were little fricken Hypoapsis Miles bugs . Beneficials . TOUGH BUGS . Just cruising around leaving cedar rooster tails everywhere after being submerged for 15 min too. 4 days passed, and on the 4th or 5 day the plants all died . I mean toast!!!

I am simply saying if these methods are not a total fix with a BAD infestation, then throw the plants away OR do the thing that will not POSTPONE your final outcome(ELIMINATION). The other methods, for me, just postponed things and kept them at BAY kind of. There were always flare up's with a bad plant or something

Honestly, I have heard of plant damage following these treatments and I, personally think it kicks the crap out of aphids, but at what cost?
I have not attempted the treatment

I don't know how to apologize enough. Just very sorry. I have since starting using 1 Tbl/gal for the root soak. That's after hurting plants [but not killing] with the higher doses followed by a good flush and applying a root stim. With the higher doses, it took like a month to get them back because of severe root damage stalling the whole operation till roots regrew. I apparently recommended something before I had thoroughly tested it so I could speak from experience. Lesson learned, and I'm sure the lesson you learned was not to pay much attention to my recommendations. Again, I apologize. -granger

No worries my friend, as we are all here , constantly learning , and your intentions were and are always GOOD. I myself have posted things and regretted my inexperience, or lack thereof a better product. I am still learning everyday, and will be until the day I die. I know we all have varying opinions , tactics , methods and abilities as growers, and I try and respect everyone's own personal perspective. Granger from what I have seen , you have been super helpful and spot on, with many people who have struggled , and your experience in many areas surpasses mine greatly.
You have much to offer, and seem ready and willing to assist so many here, for that, I applaud you, sir . So many come here to IC Mag and simply to get info. It is very easy to remain silent. Those, (like yourself) who are willing and able to listen, assist, and with kindness, respond to those in need, are far too few in this world. So, I will continue to read your posts and seek any helpful answers that you and others here can provide, as this site has been a fantastic TOOL to help us all obtain specific information in regards to our favorite plant.

My goal is to simply help others avoid long painful struggles like I endured and streamline the RA elimination process with the best info I have gathered. I have much to learn, but I also have lots of experience with a variety of previously discussed products or methods with regards to the current battle of RA's specifically in relationship to cannabis, based on nothing more than my own experience, research, and trial and error (with numerous tactics earlier in this forum), that was PAINSTAKINGLY long and not effective. This infestation I HAD was epic and took me FOREVER to conquer. I followed too many peoples wrong information. I succeeded in beating them without stopping the perpetual process.


PS- I really actually LOVE the PCO Cedar oil for normal around the house in and out pest control, it's fantastic around the pets! Great area spray

Well it does kick the crap out of aphids and is like 50 bucks for the can I got. It's labeled as acephate 97

It worked great but the plants got some damage from it. Personally with the problems I was having I needed to act fast and I took the risk and did dunks on 15 bigger plants. I used 45 grams of the stuff to 15 gallons of water or 3 grams a gallon. Placed the pots in the dunking rubbermaid bin for half hour each and I have yet to see anything a month later. Finally got some good buds forming the past few harvests have been sub par with minor little popcorn fluff nugs.

This is the thread that brought me here. So I am curious about the subject still.

Thanks for your gracious response, brother. BTW, I keep a spray btl of Cedarcide [2 Tbl/qt] on my patio. Great mosquito repellent. Doesn't hurt skin or stain clothes. In fact, it seems to be good for the skin. Pleasant aroma. Plus, it's fun to knock them out of the air with it. If they're bad, I take my shirt off and spray it well. They come close, but don't land. I spray hands, wipe face, neck, hair, etc. Doesn't screw hair up. Good luck. -granger

My best success to date has been with kontos, have yet to see any after battling for years . The spinsodad treatment storm shadow recommended sounds promising I'm surprised no body is trying it. Currently using essentria, neem seed meal, and imid as follow up and haven't seen shit. May try a pyre therein such as pyganic as well. Not trying to have to resort to something as strong as kontos again.

I had been pondering a spinosad dunk for the RA. I was having bad cabbage aphids on my kale, I tried a few sprays of botanigard which is suppose to be effective on aphids however the results were limited; maybe about half of the poplulation died. Then I sprayed an azamax/spinosad combo and they were all dead in a few days.
