Lovely show you got here nameless... I've been lurking...
Edible dosage, a lot depends on solvent and the limits of solubility. My go to 100mg/g in coconut oil. I've gone up to 500mg/g but things get real hard to mix and emulsify the higher you go. Then the coconut oil is ingested directly or used for whatever edibles you're looking to make.
Throwing a little ethanol in with the rosin will probably help evenly distribute and increases solubility... Most is cooked away depending on methods (baking, gummies, etc), and even then, a little ethanol doesn't hurt, imo, just enough to get the starting extract to dissolve a bit. I like to use this method when going glycerin, as it seems to have a much harder time getting extracts to dissolve.
But, 100mg dosage, if decarbed and done right, sets me right on my ass... But, not a big edible guy, nor a real high tolerance. 500mg and I'm sleeping for the next 12 hours.
good tip lou! im glad your still around and kicking. ive got three different molds for shapes to distinguish between the candies. one will be hash (i have 7g of bubble hash) one will be rosin (have 7g rosin too) and one will be cbd/thc (looking for recommendations on cbd to order still) so hopefully i can start supplying myself with dependable pain relief and generating data to track and compile.
new lens came in, just an 18-55 to give me a closer range over my old 28-80. i got a wide angle attachment for now (35$ vs 350) so i can get the pics back up to snuff. i forgot the on board flash isnt tall enough to clear the front of the attachment, so im waiting on a new flash now.
heres the first recipe for the chocolate. i tried one yesterday and think it might have been a bit strong. my eyes were all fucked up for about three hours. i dont think i could have gotten away with being in public. even after 3x applications of eye drops i had very red eyes.
i think these are closer to 80mgs. but i estimate hash at 50% generally, which would mean this particular recipe would give you 15 chocolates at 67 mg each
i have 7g hash (precarb) for cooking
decarb - baked in oven at 225 degrees for 22 min. i didnt weigh it but i feel like it lost decent weight.
took that right out of the oven and scraped up 2 g
and put it straight into a non stick pot that already had 1.5 tablespoons of coconut oil on warm/low setting. i dissolved it into this over the course of 10 mins, just shaking the pot and keeping the heat very low.
they do taste pretty strongly of weed, but not too bad and it goes away quickly. they seem to be fucking me up more than i expected... even now at 45 mins in on day #2 i feel like my legs are tied to balloons and that maybe i should make them weaker next time lol. will continue to evolve and experiment with what works best for me. next cookery will be with rosin! but maybe an update first? tonight is the last night of 18 hrs, then we do the flippity flop!
Diggin' that heart mold. I have quite a few....superman logo, cannabis leaf, Halloween themed(skulls, pumpkins, skulls) . Everytime I go to a store I check out their baking section looking for different styles.
yeah! i got these in a three pack with seashells and stars. the chocolate is so easy to make i think i will start keeping an eye out for fun shapes. maybe some blue dolphins or transformers.... oh i had some louie v ones once that were dope... lol.
i think these might not store well at room temp because of the coconut oil, i might do some experimenting with different brands and types. no organic chocolate for baking at the local store.
i'm late to the party, but im glad it's still going.
how many runs do you have on this bed? sorry havn't read the whole thread, just the highlights (read: looked at the pretty pictures)
c64 - always nice to see you around here
gman - yeah! i think ive pretty much accomplished the mission of freedom 35, with a few years to spare... but its an ongoing retirement documentary now i guess!
silver & vp - you know what to do if ya get hungry, snacks to be had for sure, lmk.
antheis - ahoy hoy, these particular beds are pretty new, ive got 3 runs in one and one in the other. the soil in the older one is over 5 years old though, with well over 20 runs on it. other bed has brand new dirt that i made this year.
I was just in a large greenhouse where they use clover in long raised beds. They claim it reduces water consumption? Whats you experience? Any benefits you've had?
