a sad day for all TPB fans... as most of you probably know already John Dunsworth, the actor who played Mr Lahey, passed away yesterday at the age of 71 from a "short and unexpected illness"
the tpb is such an excellent mockumentary i think people often forget that not only are the characters acting, but they are so convincing that you come to believe they actually are drunk all the time.
i could go on and on about the underlying social commentary of the show and how much i can relate to it, having spent my entire life in the deep south and observing trailer park life first hand... but this is about John. here is some stuff from wikipedia about his early acting career, after he dabbled in politics -

In 1970, Dunsworth leased an abandoned building on Halifax's waterfront, and converted it into a playhouse. Dubbing it the Pier One Theatre, it became the city's first and most successful alternative theatre production house.[5] In 1987, Dunsworth founded Filmworks Casting where he worked as Halifax's most renowned casting director.[1]Dunsworth met director Mike Clattenburg in the mid-1990s when he tried out for a bit part in Clattenburg's film short, One Last Shot.[6] Dunsworth's small role gradually transformed into a leading part that earned him a Best Performance award from the Atlantic Film Festival. From there, he further developed the character into what would eventually become Jim Lahey in Trailer Park Boys.

RIP John, guess your watching us all like a shithawk now, eh bud?

I'm seriously considering copying your soaker hose setup and had some questions for you. Are you just going straight from your submersible pump to the y splitter then to each bed?

Are you just using a regular timer to turn it on and off?

About how much are you watering each time, and are you watering every day?

Everything is looking tits in here btw. Thanks for being such an awesome inspiration bro, keep up the great work :tiphat:

ya.... what zack said
im about to setup soakers also and want to know the DEEETS, like what brand of hose (i remember you went thru a couple), hw u setup (pump to Y to make a ring or what?), how strong a pump, how long u water for/ how much water, and all kinds of other nameless trade secrets!

for real tho, looking good and i wana use soakers on my big bed, which is about ready to fill up w plants... it's getting ready, i'll post a pic soon in my thread and maybe one or 2 in here also for shits and giggles....

post away!!!

mushroom ive had ogc x cj for years. i pulled it out of a pack about 5 years ago i think. its an absolute thumper and a winner in anyones garden. every grower to run her still holds her to this day. has a special anise & licorice thing going on that is quite nice.

vp, video wouldnt work for me?

zack, avi - 800 gph pump run through a hose to the Y. nothing else. pump is on a timer for 8 mins usually, every night an hour before lights come on. and i adjust the valves on the y to open and close depending on how much water that bed needs. (half way until week 5 ish then usually wide open until the last week when they quit drinking as much.) gilmoure (sp?) soaker hoses seem to work best. kinks dont matter apparently. the flexzilla leader hoses are nice too. no loop on the soakers, just factory end cap. 25' hose snaked back and forth on my 7' long beds quite nicely. zack that is too much hose for your 5x5, hit me up to discuss options. ive found that the soft fabric soakers work better than the hard ones, being hooked to a pump and all. big plants in glue bed usually take about 8 gallons a night, mix bed with smaller girls this round seems to be taking about 6 a night pre swell. hope that helps, happy to answer any questions!!!

it really is the easiest way to grow ever yall. cant stress this enough. all i do is hand water my veg tent.

That's dope, so simple yet so effective. You think the 25 would be too long for a 4x4 geoplanter even if I did I nice tight coil? Could I just pinch the hose at say 12.5 ft to make it a shorter length?

Are you saying you give the glue bed 8 gallons of water every day? How big and what is your res?

sry i didnt address this zack - 25' youd have to drop it in there and see i guess, you would obviously just adjust the pump timer to get correct water in dirt... my res is just a 32gal heavy duty trash can. in full swing the glue beds have been taking up to 8 a day yeah. glue gets big tho. you can work it out easy as hell when u get it set up...

thanks dtog! and vp, i generally do before flip, then @ 21 and 35 days. maybe a bit later depending

trich i be going to a wedding!

Thanks man, I literally just ordered the pump, hose, soaker hose and a y splitter to put right after the pump. That way I can attach another hose and watering wand to the same pump for hand watering. I'm stoked, I got my geoplanter and am gonna try and get my clones transplanted this weekend :dance013:

what youll want to do is have another pump for handwatering. trust me. ditch the y valve and run two pumps. you could just use a watering can or, i use an 800 for the beds and a 400 gph for the hose for the veg tent. you could get away with 2 400gph pumps i think.

18 og chem x casey jones went into flower last night all about 18" tall. i dropped the trellis down to about 20" from 24" and the top one is 12" above that. i think these will maybe do 2.25 stretch but i honestly cant remember. they will almost certainly finish at that. i need to track these good and put it in the notebook. ill take some pics tonight and get them up in the am.
